Quan Chis tats
Quan Chis tats
So anyone else worried they'll retcon the dragon king story and have his tatoos already on him?? cos i personally prefer mkmsz and mk4 quan chi not with standing that this game is 10 years prior to him tattooing himself

I would like to think that since the message boards have been complaining about him having his tattoos in the wrong games since Shaolin Monks came out, they'll fucking know better than to make the same mistake again.
I'd LIKE to think that. The reality's probably going to disappoint me, though.
I always just plain liked his MK Mythologies/4/Conquest outfit better anyway. It looks more sorcerer-y. I'm sure, at the very least, he won't look exactly identical to MKDA, everyone got a revamped costume so it'd be a little dumb for Quan to be the only one in the game to show up in an outfit that's now 9 years old. Hopefully his new look is closer to the fully clothed outfit than the shirtless one.

There's a difference between "knowing better" (which should actually read: acknowledge this) and actually doing it. NRS could just prefer the half-naked tattooed Quan.

If they preferred it, they shouldn't have written into the fucking story that he got those tattoos for a reason during Deadly Alliance and can't have them yet in prequel games.

Everything is great about Quan Chi's original costume.
however they can shrink his fluffy sleeves and trousers down to leather or armour or something.

He'd look quite good if NRS cribbed from the outfits the Controllers wore circa 1999 or so.

Just remake his MK4 outfit, just sleevless and not so.........poofy
For some reason I really hated his MKDA MKA alt even though it was a remake of his mk4 one I dunno why, i think it was the shape of his head, I'd like his MKMSZ with the spiked forearms I didn't mind him cutting you up in that.
But no tats and darker eye design like mk4.
PS a user (can't remember who though) on here has a quan chi pic which changes from normal to a fan made design all bloodied thats awesome

The MKDA alt was missing the high collar and leg armour, and just ugly in general.
This is one of my favourite Quan Chi concepts that I've seen. I would love something like that to be one of his costumes in the game, with a more robe-like appearance as the other. And no tattoos yet, please.

I like Quan chi in his mk4 out fit. he seems more sinister that way. I do like the revamped version that Jax007 made or maybe the design that I made.
ive noticed this too, seems since MKDA they never wanted to change his design i mean not even a little seems he had the same exact look ever since MKDA i really did like his old design it was much more badass, also i agree the poofy parts could just be changed to tight leather or something like that you know

And who could blame them? Half-naked tattooed Quan is the best Quan.
Granted, it would be great if they didn't retcon the MKDA storyline with Quan escaping the netherrealm and stumbling upon the Dragon King's undefeatable army. MKDA had the best storyline of any MK game to date.

Wow completely forgot about this one. It's almost like Quan Chi got himself so embedded in his sorcery and necromancy that he became a half living/half dead being himself. That's a delicious design.
I would like to see his tats again. The render for the cancelled MKvsDC DLC looks perfect to me. They messed with the story too much already for me to care whether or not he has his tats. So if I had to choose from an aesthetic point of view, I'd go with the tats.

If they could make him look like this, but making the cloth into tight leather instead, giving him a more bondage look (which seems to be a common theme amongst the Brotherhood of the Shadows in the later games), then it would be absolutely perfect!
The tattoos should NOT appear on him until MKDA, though they looked cool...
Well, if it were up to me, Quan Chi wouldn't even be in this game, other than maybe a fan-service DLC. He should be busy preparing for Shinnok's release in the Netherrealm... He has no reason to partake in the war between Outworld and Earthrealm. He should stay behind the scene and act from there while sending others to do his bidding, like he does with Scorpion and Noob.

Maybe Quan Chi does have a reason to be around. What if he somehow intercepted Raiden's message too?

Whoever came up with that design needs a broken off piano leg inserted up his ass as a memento: the disenfranchised German goth festival-goer look with the Count Orlock facepaint does not cut it.
Imo I cannot see the appeal for the whole Brotherhood of Shadow thing. Sareena, Quan Chi in MK4 and Noob Saibot doesn't look exactly appealing or thoughtfully put together.
Same beef with the new Noob Saibot albeit I like the new hood.

I think at this point, after reading Chrome's complaints about the Brotherhood costume designs for the fiftieth time, what fascinates me the most is how he brings up "German goth festivals" every single time.
Now, the goths in America don't really have festivals or conventions, it's just sort of a fashion statement, but...apparently in Germany they do? I mean is this just a euphemism for a Rammstein concert, or is this really a thing that happens? What do they do at these? Are they like a Ren Faire except everybody comes in BDSM gear?

No, not really. It looks about the same as what Raiden usually wears in black and teal instead of white, the only additional bulk or detail is the decorated armor on the chest which isn't very complex, really.

Who said anything about it being "complex". It's pretty much a tacky cluster of stuff. The armor doesn't even go with that strange loose bodysuit!

You said it's as cluttered as Scorpion's. That's simply not true.
It's a plain baggy cloth outfit, with a plain black leather waistcoat over top, with the decorated shoulder/chest armor over that. It's only three layers and the only layer with a lot of detail is the armor and those decorations are not too small and overcrowded.
Scorpion's is too detailed, too complex. The main problem being how all the black parts, which used to be a simple cloth ninja outfit, are now covered in tons of little plates of insect chitin. And the fact that his shoulder pads are the shape of a whole cartoon scorpion, they even have little pincers molded on the sides.

I actually don't really see how Scorpion's outfit is too detailed, but then again I'm a city boy...
