Quan Chis tats

The plates and tumor-shapes on the black parts. That's how it's too detailed. I said that. It's right there, you can't miss it.
I could draw arrows pointing to it on a screenshot if that would help.

Whoever came up with that design needs a broken off piano leg inserted up his ass as a memento: the disenfranchised German goth festival-goer look with the Count Orlock facepaint does not cut it.
Imo I cannot see the appeal for the whole Brotherhood of Shadow thing. Sareena, Quan Chi in MK4 and Noob Saibot doesn't look exactly appealing or thoughtfully put together.
Same beef with the new Noob Saibot albeit I like the new hood.
So your saying John Tobias should have a piano leg shoved in him because he designed the costume.Jaded-Raven Wrote:

It's the most detailed costume ever seen in the MK history. Perhaps you should preorder the kollector's edition with a Scorpion figurine in it to investigate the new costume a tad bit further. If you'd have to pick something that's just excessive in detail in MK, what would it be?

Quan Chi should have his MK Mythologies attire with the blades and the tatoos for sure!!!
I have a feeling that the necromancer-move leaked by Lupinko will be his MK Mythologies move where he hypnotizes the opponent and they walk twards him and their eyes glow (similar to Sindel) and makes more sense. I'm sure we'll also see his notorious skull projectile, stomp move, and maybe see some move that incorporates steeling something from the opponent concept (maybe something along the lines of projectiles/teleports/moves - based on how he could steal opponent's fatalities/weapons in MK4). Also, one of his fatalities should be his Leg Beat Down and end it with a decaptiation.

If they do bring back or homage the leg beat Fatality in some way, I hope they keep the whole reason it was so memorable: the fact that he never stops hitting you with it until the scene fades out.

Every game needs a token goths; it really is nothing more than that. When I first heard of the brotherhood, I took it literally and immediately thought of the MK3 noob who's completely black and, well, like a shadow. A whole organisation based on looking and acting like shadows would have been incredible.

I know you said that, I just don't think so.

1. tsk tsk. shame on you for your ASSumptions.
2. The fatalities. In terms of costuming, probably Ermac's.

I personally have never liked this costume. If they do go this direction, it could use quite a bit of streamlining. I am a huge fan of his MKDA tattoo look personally, but, realize that if they are truly taking this game back to mk 1,2, and 3, it would make no sence for them to be there.
They kind of smashed all of Noob Saibot's looks together pretty successfully, hopefully the can do the same for Quan Chi.

As it is now, I don't like the outfit either, but I do believe it has potential. As I said, they should make some changes like instead of the cloth (sleeves, under the chest armour, trousers) it should be skintight leather, there should be more and bigger spikes, like in MK Mythologies, and Quan Chi should overall look more evil. Maybe have a few demonic skulls hang from his belt to show his connection to death/undeath as a necromancer.
Edit: I found a very cool artwork of Quan Chi.

For some reason I really hated his MKDA MKA alt even though it was a remake of his mk4 one I dunno why, i think it was the shape of his head, I'd like his MKMSZ with the spiked forearms I didn't mind him cutting you up in that.
But no tats and darker eye design like mk4.
PS a user (can't remember who though) on here has a quan chi pic which changes from normal to a fan made design all bloodied thats awesome

I could see the blue parts of Quan's MK4 armor being a light, blue scale armor. The black would be cool as leather, obviously, and the shoulders should definitely have the large, almost regal-looking spikes that the above design has.

Now that is an amazing look for him. Hopefully they saw this picture at some point and used it as inspiration.

I think at this point, after reading Chrome's complaints about the Brotherhood costume designs for the fiftieth time, what fascinates me the most is how he brings up "German goth festivals" every single time.
Now, the goths in America don't really have festivals or conventions, it's just sort of a fashion statement, but...apparently in Germany they do? I mean is this just a euphemism for a Rammstein concert, or is this really a thing that happens? What do they do at these? Are they like a Ren Faire except everybody comes in BDSM gear?

Well, for a good advice, never mention that Rammstein is goth.. you probably avoid a facefull of napalm.
And actually yes, goth fests are regulars. Wave-Gotik-Treffen probably one of the more famous ones. And truth be told, it applies to all kinds of gothic: you can meet the various New Victorian fashion statements, faux-Byrons etc. next to what is historically accurate as gothic (medieval bright-pastel colored robes etc. actual gothic nobility fashion ... which was not dark and gloomy at all despite what you may have been fed through the media) BDSM is not goth, but some use it as costume elements. Generally BDSM is misattributed to goth, gimps have little in common with let's say Shelley impersonators.
Compare: medieval smith and new age porcelain dolls in black in the same festival.

Figuratively speaking, though he deserves it more for Tao Feng (figuratively speaking). Piano legs probably don't have the same anal circumference.
I can't believe I resorted to a F.A.T.A.L. reference.
