This is my list...

#1: Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance - Armageddon.


I love this look for her. It keeps her leotard look, but adds some sophisticated elements that makes it look more feminine and stylish. And her hair is just amazing. I don't care that her outfit is purple in this one, it looks good on Kitana and I hope this look returns some day.

Her face (as most faces in MKDA-MKA) looks somewhat off, but I love that she has a curvy body, making her look like a real woman.

#2: Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 - Trilogy.


Simple, but elegant is the best way to describe this look. A nice updated look from her MK2 appearance (which is somewhat boring in my opinion), and she looks like an otherworldly assassin in this one. And Becky Gable looks beautiful, a nice choice to portray Kitana.

#3: Mortal Kombat (2011).


I admit, at first I was incredibly sceptical with this look. She looks close to nothing like her MK2-MKT look which I find a shame since that is when the game is happening. That said, the look have really grown on me and I actually think it is quite a good look for her now. There are a few things I'd want to change about it, but they are but mere details. Her model looks incredible though, her face is beautiful and her hair fits her (though I hate the whole rubberband effect it has in-game).

#4: Mortal Kombat Gold.


The reason this isn't next to her UMK3-MKT look is because I find this a cheaper version of that look. The missing extra armband and the lacking of her mask makes this version of her outfit simply... lacking. I know, I know, it's nitpicking about details, however, it is such details that makes the look in my opinion.

#5: Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks.


This is a nice alternate design to her UMK3-MKT look with some nice new details to it. I don't find it as good as the original look, but it's still quite nice.

#6: Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance - Armageddon (2).


I don't find this a good update to her UMK3-MKT look. The only two things I actually like about this outfit is her boots and hair, but the leotard leaves much to be desired. A cheap knockoff of her original looks.

#7: Mortal Kombat the movie - Annihilation.


Considering the quality of the movies, I actually find Kitana's outfit in them to be quite cool, though not really that interesting. However, I do like the corset-like top, the long gloves and that she is wearing pants. It derives from her original leotard look in a good way, but the outfit itself leaves much to be desired. I like the concept, but the execution wasn't very well done.

#8: Mortal Kombat 2.


Kitana's first appearance was nice considering the limitations the MK team had to work with, but compared to her newer appearances, it looks simply too plain and boring.

#9: Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe.


They simply made a wrong turn with this one... It looks odd and unfitting. The only thing I like about this outfit is the long gloves.

#9: Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm TV show.

This is the best she's EVER looked she is beautiful and sexy and perfect imo they got it perfect this time around

I like this new Kitana 2011 design the most, she looks better than her other previous "incarnations" .... NRS used good the power of the new engine and gave sexy forms along with modern and mature concept for her, and all females ....

OUR OWN OPINIONS!!!
So there's no need to be that nitpicky...

1. MKDA/MKA blue ninja version- simple, but cool (cool boots & hair); classic Kitana in a nicely updated way

2. MK2011- most beautiful model, but she should have skin tight short black pants to cover her legs/ass, or a loincloth on the back as well

3. MKSM in-game version- better hairstyle than in render version, cool black/blue color combo + nice eye highlights

4. MKDA/MKA purple costume- simple and cool, purple color bugs me a bit (black with touches of blue would have been perfect)

5. MKSM render version- don't like the heels, the rest is cool, very tight

6. UMK3/MKT- simple, but works

7. MKG- ugly fans, OK costume

8. MK2- nowadays just boring

9. MKvsDC- terrible hair, boring costume and what makes me dislike this version of Kitana even more is her annoying voice during the fights (it was fine during cut-scenes). Thank god her in-game voice for MK2011 is brilliant.

It seems like her MK2011 version is the most liked version of all, judging by this thread. The model for MK2011 is amazingly beautiful (my favorite for a female character ever), so if they pull off a cool (more covered) alternate costume, preferably with pants and some high boots, and with black color as the main one (with touches of blue/silver), I can see that being my new favorite Kitana.

I also can't wait to see her classic costume (UMK3) updated, should be cool. I wonder if they'll add classic-looking steel fans as well to go with it.

Why would Kitana wear pants? That would look horrible. None of the MK females have ever worn pants, except for Sonya, but she comes from Earth. IMO, pants would be a horrible addition to anyone of the females' costumes, except Sonya. I do think it would look good if Kitana's loin cloth was front and back, but pants? No way, at least not yet, I dont think the fans are ready to see them in pants.

I just wish she had a sash or something wrapped around that bare stomach and her trim was black instead of silver. I'll probably be playing exclusively with her alts because at least one will for sure look like she actually did in MK2 and 3.

You forgot Kira and Li Mei. They wear pants as well. ;)

When I said pants, I had in my mind something like Talisa Soto in the movies. I thought those pants and boots made a good combination. So think of skin tight pants and high boots (preferably without high heels). I think those would look kick-ass on Kitana, especially if the main color is black, with touches of blue and silver. What does it matter she's not from Earth?

Kira's MKD primary design is one of my favorites for a female character in MK, and one of the reasons are those awesome pants she wearing. Though I'm picturing Kitana in different kind of pants, I'm just bringing up Kira as a fine example of how pants can look awesome on a female character.

Considering Kitana's not wearing pants in both, her primary look for MK2011 and in the update of her classic costume, I think an alternate costume with pants would be a nice addition.

But, the hair and those ribbons are part of her costume and design! I guess we can try to judge them by not thinking about their physics and how they move, but still, they were an ugly part of the outfits.

I think her face looks beautiful in-game and in her endings.

Yeah, I agree. Kitana's face/head looks gorgeous in the VS select screen picture, but, as pretty as she looks, the outfit is still her worst.

She also looks very pretty in that MK2011 render (the face), but, that outfit...



A lot of male characters that are not from Earth wear pants.

Other females that are not from earth wear pants.

If male and female characters that are not from Earth wear the costumes they wear, I'm pretty sure that wearing pant-like outfits is not out of the question or such an outrageous thing to think about.

Kitana can pull of the pants. Her movie costume is, like, a billion times better than any of her latest new ones.

I absolutely love Kira's creative and awesome pants in MKD and Sonya's original design MKvsDC + 2011 (my favorites from her).

Hmmm no. If anything, its probably one of the most hated costumes a female character has ever had. I dont recall any of her past costumes getting so much hate and hate threads like this one did. And its shitty TBH, one of her worst, its only superior to her MKvsDC one.

I don't think I've seen most of the people who made or participated in all those many, many threads complaining Kitana's MK9 costume is too skimpy or too bare and boring post in this one to vote, though. Except myself, of course.
Also, most of the people who have voted for the MK9 costume or against the Deadly Alliance one did so because they like the 3D modeling on Kitana's figure or face, they weren't really judging the costume designs much.

I agree with Razor though, not enough people voted, so we can't say that MK2011 design truly is the best. But it's nice to see that there are quite a few people who like it.

Razor himself drew a very nice Kitana concept in his MK2 characters art , though I only wish the main color was more of dark blue and less purple. Btw, that Sub-Zero is amazing!

Here's my list of favorite appearances of Kitana. <3

1. MKDA - Her alternate outfit. Loved it! She looked goregous! Just like the princess she is. <3 The long hair, the elegant look looked wonderful on her.

2. MK vs DC - Her hair looked great once again! Her face looked cute and the outfit was nice. Blue and black always looks good on her.

3. MK - I love her new look. It adds old and new and she looks awesome. The only complaint I have is her tiara on her head... looks like a headband and I'm not likin' it.

4. MKDA - Her primary resembles her MK2 look and she looks great! Love it.

5. MK2 - The original look of Kitana. So cool and original.

6. MKU3- Her new look put me off a little bit. The new actress to portray her just didn't give her the prettiness that she had. And the bun was just... eww...

7. MK4/Gold - She reminded me so much of Talisa Soto from the movies in which I thought how cool! And it was the first time playing her unmasked, that was cool, too. Her hair in a bun once again just was a no, no.

8. MKSM - No, no, no... she was just ugly. :/ She looked mean, ugly and not at all elegant.

MK2011 appearance is the best. I know many say it doesn't fit her, but I think she actually looks like a princess and a warrior at the same time. Plus I like this Arabian style.

I think its too late for pants. At least for Kitana, Mileena, Jade and Sindel, Tanya too. Kitana's costume in the movie sucked. The dress was cool at the beginning, but the fighting costume sucked. Also the high heels kick ass, not practical, but very aesthetically pleasing.

#1 Kitana 2011


This is her first princess like costume and it really suits her. I know it’s a bit revealing, but as long as she gets a more covered alt costume its alright. Everything about this model is right. The details on the costume, the colour blue they used. The hair in the render is just perfect (ingame is a different matter though). The only thing I don’t like about it are her fans.. They are to bland. Other then that this is definitely the best look she has so far. Still I was disappointed the first time I saw it just because I was expecting and hoping for something completely different.

As for all the other appearances .. some had some good parts but none of them were really great...

MK2: Love the hair and headband, costume was to blend.
UMK3: Costume has improved, ugly haircut, no headband.
MK Gold: Just a 3D version of her UMK3.
MKDA: Purple costume is awful. Blue costumes is missing something. I do think this appearance has the best fans yet.
MKSM: I like that they used more black in the costume.
MKvsDC: Like the hair on this appearance. MK2011 hair is still better though.

I’m still waiting for a perfect assassin appearance for her. Give her an update version of her MKSM costume with her MK2 hair and headband or maybe her MKvsDC hair and you’ll get a great result. I’m hoping for something like that for an alt costume in MK2011 and it will be the perfect Kitana for me.

I can't be bothered to go into detail but I think all of her appearances have been awesome except for DC Universe and MK9. They both suck. Deadly Alliance primary and alternate were perfection. Shaolin Monks looked amazing in that one render but failed everywhere else unfortunately.
