Don't believe the movie, it does not come from his hand, it is not a snake. I'm sure he grabs it from his waist and then flings it. It just looks like it comes from his hand in the games because of the animation.

I seen a game informer pic awhile ago and he had a little hole in his hand from where the spear comes from...lol idk

Well at least in Deception you could clearly see the spear resting on his thigh, which disapeared every time he threw it.

Even the MK figurine bookends seems to show that as well. It confuses me as to where it really comes from...it's like...a mini...retcon...of some sort.

Doesn't it shoot out of his wrist? I mean that it doesn't come from his palm like in the movies, but that there's an attachment that allows it to shoot out.

The wrist would make more sense (although i favor the movie for its badassery) but the pic seems to show it more around the wrist. So I don't know how he acquired such sophisticated technology if it is not organic in anyway.

Wouldn't actually surprise me if he did. Ninja were the pioneers of "technology" in their heyday by Feudal Japanese standards. Always figuring out new and clever ways of using something in a way no one would expect was their main tactic. From Sai, Kama, Nunchaku, etc. that were all former farming tools, eggs filled with glass powder or pepper gel, various explosives, they used a whole lot of stuff. So Scorpion just making a mechanism to fire the rope-dart from his wrist wouldn't surprise me at all, lol.

In Deadly Alliance thru Armageddon, he wore the kunai tip on his belt, but the rope part came out of his palm magically.

In this game, the whole thing comes out of his hand.

Either way, it's never been a snake-like thing because the dude's name is SCORPION, not Snake-Guy. It is a metaphorical stinger. It's a sharp, pointy blade, he was good at fighting with it when he was alive, then he died, went to hell, and now he has the supernatural power to make it come out of his body.

in the movie when i first saw that snake thing come out of his hand i was like " what the fuck is that?....is that supposed to be his spear? " so disappointed, i was also disipointed in the 2nd movie it was a twin dragon snake thingy that he used to move around or climb, but the fact was as soon as he used it their heads exploded when they hit sub-zeros ice clone so he could no longer use it
