I think they should make Sonya look like a feminine woman, In MK DA/MK vs DC she looked like a man. I'm surprises Kano never bitched Sonya about that.

They need to get rid of her muscles and give her a modern hairstyle (not a 80s haircut ) and a feminine but confident face.

Dude, it's gotten to the point that I don't even bother looking up to confirm your info. Seriously your MK knowledge is impressive. I had no idea they sort of wrapped up the Kano and Black Dragons plot. I wonder why that's such big misconception? I know I've seen a lot of people pretty much associate Kano with Sonya on these forums.

Anyhow, I have no idea then why Sonya got boring then other than the fact that her arc just hit a brick wall. A shame too, I dug Sonya in MK vs DCU and thought she looked pretty sexy...you know for an imaginary character. I dig atheletic women though.

MK4 was the right direction for Sonya? Bullshit. "Hunt Jarek" is just "Hunt Kano" but with a way less interesting guy.

Sonya's DA story was way better. "My agents are lost in Outworld and need rescued, and Raiden wants me to go there anyway to topple the new regime" is an OIA plot and OIA plots are inherently better than SF vs Black Dragon ones. Plus they added in the little character bit of her seeing Frost's heel turn coming and trying to warn Sub-Zero not to trust her, which matches well with Sonya's past reputation for being slow to trust others and not wanting to see her friends get hurt.

Oh, we're just talking about the face.

Well I'm certainly not going to defend her MKvsDCU manjaw.

But in Deadly Alliance, I thought she looked like a fairly accurate depiction of a woman who's getting into her late 30's. MKDA takes place about ten years after MK1, after all.

That something is true of the men too, the art style in the PS2 era was too bulky and all the faces kinda had weird jaws and cheekbones and everyone looked too same-y. You could really tell once they introduced the create-a-fighter mode, because the created characters had just one face for each gender, and it was still the exact same faces everyone in the game had.

We've chastised the MK team for a good long while on their past inability to make any woman look good. Even all the way up until MKvsDC, we were sort of going "why does Kitana look like she's on drugs?", "Why does Wonder Woman have age spots?", "Why does Sonya look like a post-op tranny?".

I'm optimistic that the teams talents on depicting feminine features has improved... but we'll see. Sonya was hardly alone in this. I mean, just look what they did to my personal favorite Sareena.




It's tough going from Lia Montelongo to... well, anything else. I was disappointed enough I tried my own hand at making Sareena pretty again.

At the same time, Sonya went from Kerri Hoskins to rather terrible looks:


I'd say her best look in the past ten years was from Shaolin Monks.

MK:DA Sonya was terrible. Going from a tall, athletic build to a short, stocky build cannot be attributed to aging. Especially when she's on "the force". Her breasts were also really weird in MK:DA; too big and too...seperate? Like, I don't know what kind of shirt she has on but for some reason it molds perfectly to the area between her boobs.

And the manface...and the subpar hair...

There's not one thing I liked about her.

MK vs. DCU was a pretty big step in the right direction. MK4 definitely had the best 3D-era human models. Once the team were able to model collarbones they went insane.

Edit: Shaolin Monks was very good, though I can't be the only one that thinks her eyes are a little off...other than that, perfect.

I think her Shaolin Monks face is more manly lookin' than her MKvsDCU one, personally. Yeah, it doesn't have a huge jaw, but look at those eyes and nose, and the pronounced cheek/jowl lines. There's something wrong there.

I'm sick of all the "sexy" Sonyas. Don't expose her stomach, give her a badass Special Ops look. Save the sexy looks for Kitana, Tanya, Sindel, Jade, those kind of characters. I love playing as Sonya, but I always hated the way she looks. And I know most people hated it, but I LOVED the way she looked in MKDA. Now if her shirt and jacket came down further so I didn't have to see her damn belly button it would be just about perfect.

I"m probably wrong but w/the damage ripping clothes in mkvsdc she ended up showing to much boob.

I just hope they don't use the same model for Sonya that they did in MKvDCU, she looked like a drag queen or a trannie, "her" face was far too masculine. The reason I say this is because one of the pictures during the Mkast I think it was showed her on the bridge for the pit and it was still the same model, hopefully that's just a place holder.
