Wow, don't know how I missed this thread...yeah Li Mei is without a doubt my favorite character in MK. I would very much like to see her return obviously. I don't want to see any bikini outfits return but I have to admit it's basically a part of her character now. I just want a primary that is either her MKDA primary or her armor.

She has loads of potential and skill in regards to her fighting prowess...hell she kicked Kano's ass without the training of Bo Rai Cho or even Shujinko at that point. With that said though it'd be interesting to see how she'll get thrown into the mix. Will she get trained by Bo Rai Cho or Shujinko?

With Outworld and Earthrealm being both as bad off as they are after the invasion she's among the few that anybody has left.

One thing that stood out to me about Li Mei was that when she was first introduced, she had a sexy, seductive, yet not so over-the-top sexual outfit, unlike most other females nowadays.

It was definitely a mistake, though, to give her Sais as her first weapon since Sais should just stick with Mileena, who at this point has an extremely high fan base.

I think if anything should be changed about Li Mei, it's her weapon: the kunlun dao, that sword of hers, isn't anything special if you ask me. Ashrah's Kriss actually has purpose, then Scorpion uses a sword, Sub-Zero uses a sword, I do not want to see a bladed weapon for Li Mei, in all honesty. I personally think Li Mei should have something like numchucks or a three-pronged staff, but nothing that's bladed.

I agree with her in the bikini outfits; leave that out. I thought her primary MKDA outfit was her best one.

Lots of Characters from 4-Deception can be salvaged.

Li Mei is one of the better ones from that era, actually the only new female i disliked was ashrah cuz of that rediculous white sombrero.

whoever said nunchuks; great idea! dual wield nunchuks have lots of potential and goes with her karate girl template.

I really like Li Mei and I really hope to see her again. Perhaps not in this game but hopefully in the future. She has a huge amount of potential and a loyal fanbase. Her moves were great and she had quite an interesting plot, well as far as MK characters go anyway - she was far from the worst. One of my favourite second-gen characters after Ashrah and Nitara.

Now that I remembered Shinnok and Quan Chi are going after Earthrealm and Outworld, Li Mei must be in MKX.

I have demanded it, so it must be.grin

Li Mei is absolute perfection:



Two incredible designs that (sadly) got overshadowed by her uncreative and predictable "half-naked" costumes. Sure, they looked nice, but, why would I choose those over these 2 beautiful creations that scream so much personality, attitude, character, and creativity?

Li Mei also has a fantastic FANTASTIC storyline which I was sad to not see continued after MKD. Her connection with Bo Rai Cho, her rivalry with the sorcerers, her tragedy against the deadly alliance, the fate of her people, her tainted soul and potential relation with Onaga, etc are superb.

I seriously expect her to return for the next game. All these wonderful new characters from MKDA and MKD deserve more than a second chance. I rather see them again than the creation of yet more new characters who will just end up being thrown in the background.

As much as I usually hate half naked bikini outfits, I liked her MKD primary. The bandana was nice.

When she's reintroduced however, her primary should be more armored. It'd easily make her stand out from every other female.

Absolutely.

However, I'd go first for her beautiful MKDA primary design. It was quite a controversial look (mainly from the haters who kept saying she replaced Mileena...but, NRS was stupid for giving her the Sai's + pink/purple colors, to be honest). A fresh new style I'd love to see reinvented.

armored look is nice looking, but looking at how the female characters are in this game. Chances are if she does come out it may be another bikini creation, rather then an armored look.

I'm really honestly hoping that in the next game she comes back. I think if they do go the route of re-doing MK4, it needs to be a mixture of surviving characters from MK2011, 1-2 new characters, MK4 characters and MKDA characters. Throw in Kenshi, Bo' Rai Cho and Li Mei for good measure to equal up to Kai, Reiko and Tanya.

If she returns in MKX, her face needs a makeover. Bad.

For a 'sexy bombshell' as Ed put, she's not attractive. At all.

I have now inspired myself to come up with a skimpier version of her Bikini outfit. I'm sure she'll have one.. :|

Man, to see Li Mei in the game as DLC. I'd fucking pay 5 dollars for that. Li Mei is awesome sauce. I liked her Deception outfit. If they tinkered that outfit (Netherrealm always does) just a LITTLE bit and left pretty much the root appearance of her, that'd be sick.

Yes! I'd love for Li Mei to make a comeback, I think she's an awesome character with loads of potential. Her story developed more over two games than Scorpion's has over the entire series, I think she has every right to be back in the spotlight.

I took a shot at redesigning her not long ago as part of a series I'm doing and posted it here.

I tried to recreate that MKDA primary, but make it prettier, aha. I always thought it was quite and unattractive design, but that was probably due to graphics of the game.

Do not want.... as DLC. Because what we're getting there (so far) is no alts for these characters and a bare minimum of a story/conclusion that probably isn't canon... But, do put her in MK10 as a fleshed out (pun not intended) character with her own story/a good part in story mode.

I agree completely. As much as I like Li Mei, Kai, Drahmin, and Havik, I really hope they don't become DLC because of all the good stuff they'd be missing, no role in story mode, no alternate etc.


At least with them appearing on the main roster in MK10, they'll be on equal footing with the rest of the cast in MK10 with a role in story mode, voice actor, established personality, alternate, Nekropolis spot etc.



The DLC characters are great and nice additions of course, but they just feel incomplete.

I surprised that we don't get more threads for her. Yes, she is from the 3D era but she doesn't attract the hate that many of those characters do.

I completely agree she's my friend Sophie’s favorite character and I love her unique flick kicks. I hope if she does come back they give her the awesome main outfit from Armageddon not because it shows skin I just loved the look of it and the headband she looked so kool!
