At least you use him cause you really like the character and not necessarily because he's overpowered. That I dont have a problem with. I think it's shameful that a lot people use him as a cheap and easy way to move up the ranks. It's like they keep him in their pocket and pull him out when they need a win to protect their rank or to beat a higher ranking player.

It's about damn time! I am against nerfs for the most part but he really could use one. It's not that the other characters were bad he was just better overall. A mastered Kung Lao would win the majority of the time over every other character who is also mastered. He is a terrible match up for pretty much everyone.
I had spent very limited time practicing with him and I could still win a lot of matches online with him. It's disgusting how easy he is to use.
He does above average damage, is great in close, very fast, punishing combos, great wake up attacks, great at zoning, one of the best at long distance with two very useful projectile options and 3 teleport attacks options. Not to mention if you are blocking his easiest combo to do the hat slice or hat throw at the end will still damage anyway.
The fact that his spin which can neutralize anything aggressive and wasn't punishable with a block before was BS. Even if you hit him low the spin will still knock you in the air and set you up for a punishing juggle combo that takes at least a quarter of your life. If you could somehow manage to block the spin or dodge it, he could just do it again before you could hit him.
Finally he is beatable without just relying on your opponet to make a lot of mistakes! Now just nerf Liu Kangs infinite combo and I am totally set.

Good.
Now, can we please make Sonya's Kiss of Death move be as awesome as it was in MKvsDC?
I'm shocked at the extremely fast recovery time from the victim after they get hit and even more shocked at how slow this move is now.
It was perfect all through MKDA-MKvsDC....what the hell happened? Sure, it looks better and more flashy now, but, it's harder to use. Not as safe or effective as it was back then (I've seen the videos with high level players using it to its full potential, but, its not easy nor as fun to do!).

I just got through losing to 3/7 fighters a little while ago. I was a rank 36 untill then. I beat a rank 39 Kabal, a rank 36 Smoke, a rank 32 Sub Zero, and a rank 22 Sub Zero. I lost to a rank 31 Kung Lao (twice), a rank 34 Kung Lao, and a rank 38 Kung Lao and I lost badly.
Well after losing a rank once again to KL I got a little irritated and sent a message to the last guy that beat me stating that: "your win with KL means nothing. He's overpowered, but you already know that."
Then he responded with this nonsense: "Scorpion is for beginners, but you already know that. My win does mean something cause the stats recorded it. Stop making excuses for losing, loser."
Then I replied: "Fight me with any other fighter and see what happens."
No response yet.
I noticed that Ive been fighting A LOT more Kung Laos lately. He seems to have become by far, the most used fighter in the game, far surpassing Smoke, Ermac, and Scorpion. I guess a lot of people have decided to adopt the Brady doctrine just so they can win. Im starting to think the game may become broken if this trend continues and the next patch doesnt nerf Kung Lao enough to make a difference.

Do you have a link to the video showing it?
I believe you're talking about his b3, 1, 2 string which pops up and pushes the opponent towards the corner. He can do it 3 times max in a row as far as I know.

Hmmmm.........this makes me consider picking up Ermac, if he is like an anti-KL, then maybe he can help me against Raiden, whom I have trouble beating and have to resort to using Liu Kang. KL does give me a bit of trouble, but not as much as Raiden does. Now that I think about it, Ermac does seem to have the moves I need to defeat KL and Raiden.

Kung Lao has never been a problem for me since ermac is my main and ermac has an answer to all of laos moves and tactics. His low hat trap has been gone for a while now thank god, it wasnt much of a problem for me tho the way I play against him but I did lose to one bc of it and I think frame traps are cheating so Im glad its gone. I actually lost to a lao for the first time last night in like 2 months he was weird he didnt play like the majority of them play. I only pick ermac against him and like I said ermac is a great counter pick for lao, I can see tho how a lot of other characters would have problems with him so I guess its good he got nerfed (again) but his spin was never a problem for me.

In my hands he is the best for lao.. just stay at like sweep distance this way he cant mix u up with a teleport. In fact we want him to teleport because every time he teleports he's wide open for a tks and now hes gonna get juggled. Also from the sweep distance if he tries a dive kick you'll see it coming a mile away so block and again hes getting juggled. Eventually he'll resort to zoning ermac with low hats which isn't hard to deal with just low block them. Ive always believed in staying away from lao because first he had 0 recovery punch links which was like a trap and then a low hat frame trap both are gone now. With lao its all about being patient and baiting him and not getting close. Another person said they have success against ermacs that jump in, I think you should never ever jump at a lao he can dive kick you or spin you for juggle. Also notice above I didn't mention the ground roll? You'd think they use that to close distance and get close but they never do (seriously).

This thread has been out for a while and I haven't seen any game patches. Did I miss something?

This guy I met in a KOTH room said October first. He had like 22,000 respect points so you know he's reliable
. So until someone tells me otherwise or Oct. 1 roles around and there's no patch, this is what I'm going by.

That's not an infinite. It's annoying, but it's not an infinite. Not even close.

It is, however, super easy to pull off, for about 33% damage a pop.
