I'm not happy by this. I've not been using KL lately and i'm hella rusty with him. This nerf is just going to make things worse for me.

Kung Lao's still top tier, it's not like anything has actually changed, he's just more on a level playing field with the rest of the roster and more punishable, I'm glad they actually care about making this game as balanced as it can be for the future of this series as a tourney fighter.

I still say they should 'balance' out those lower tier and make them more viable.

They must like nerfing the top tier.confused

That point is contingent on the top tier characters NOT being overpowered, which they evidentally are since NRS continues to nerf them and some tournament players are leaving their viable mains for Kung Lao, like Tom Brady and REO. Giving armor to Sheeva's grabs or a true pop up to Baraka doesn't change the fact that Kung Lao's spin in virtually unpunishable nor does it change the fact that certain characters required nerfs.

People act as though buffing low tier characters cancels out the fact that certain characters are/were overpowered.

Seriously. Why don't we just give every character an "automatic win" button. Or let's just buff everyone up to the point where whoever hits first gets a guaranteed 90% combo.

Really people. Balance isn't just about buffing everyone. That turns the game into a "I hit you first, so I won" exercise.

Kung Lao is my main and I'm actually glad he can't do two spins in a row anymore.
I honestly hated it because for some reason I always did the second spin by accident. I never really used it either so, I'm relieved that I don't have to worry about it anymore. It's not a major loss in my opinion.
There's no need for a second spin if you land the first one and can combo off of it. The second spin does less damage and makes your opponent fall faster anyway.
I can't WAIT for Cyrax's bomb reset to be nerfed >:D

You can have several mains. A main is just a character you prefer playing as, and if you prefer to play as more than just one, then they are all mains... so to speak.

Secondary Characters(like what daryui said): Freddy, Kung Lao, Kano etc.
There. Did I please the almighty and all knowing [Killswitch] with my ignorance of main characters and corrections?wink

There's a difference between main and secondary characters.

I play Jade just as much as I play Rain these days. I consider both of them my mains.

Kung Lao has never been a problem for me since ermac is my main and ermac has an answer to all of laos moves and tactics. His low hat trap has been gone for a while now thank god, it wasnt much of a problem for me tho the way I play against him but I did lose to one bc of it and I think frame traps are cheating so Im glad its gone. I actually lost to a lao for the first time last night in like 2 months he was weird he didnt play like the majority of them play. I only pick ermac against him and like I said ermac is a great counter pick for lao, I can see tho how a lot of other characters would have problems with him so I guess its good he got nerfed (again) but his spin was never a problem for me.

Hmmmm.........this makes me consider picking up Ermac, if he is like an anti-KL, then maybe he can help me against Raiden, whom I have trouble beating and have to resort to using Liu Kang. KL does give me a bit of trouble, but not as much as Raiden does. Now that I think about it, Ermac does seem to have the moves I need to defeat KL and Raiden.

To be honest, I smack Ermac's all the time with Lao. It's not difficult. They try to force lift, JIP and punish them. I am actually kind of happy to see Lao getting nerfed, even though he is one of my mains. He's still probably my best character, it's just i've been drifting away lately to learn new characters like Cyber-Sub, Kitana, trying to get my Kabal better. After seeing REO do work with CSZ, I'm wanting to pick him up even more.

One thing about Lao that really pisses me off is people online that use him. Seriously? They can't do a goddamn thing with him. I don't see any combos, all I see is ground hat, ground hat, divekick. I got my ass handed to me when I was using Subby. I couldn't do anything, that ground hat is way too fast. This is why I am a lil happy about him getting nerfed.

My answer to KL has been Noob. I try to stand in one place for as long as possible. When the low hats comes I teleport and grab him. When the teleports come, I upknee shadow. You got to get used to crouch blocking. But, it's the dive kick I have no answer for. My timing for predicting it is usually off, LOL.

So I guess this means, to beat Kung Lao with either Noob Saibot or Ermac, I gotta play defensively.

Well fuck,
I often accidentally do the spin due to negative edge. This won't be good. EDIT: I actually never noticed the nerf. I guess it's not as bad as I thought.
