I don't think it's likely to be a typo as most magazines with such a wide distribution have extentive revision processes before they go to print. I mean, I caught it the first read over, I think the author would have noticed before the article was send off to be published. Perhaps the writer of the article mistakenly heard the name as Spektor and just never fixed it.

They spelled his name correctly in other places. It's really just a typo. Every form of print and online media is prone to typos every now and then.
"I think the author would have noticed before the article was SEND off to be published."
You mean SENT. I'm not being a douche by correcting you, I'm trying to illustrate the point that everyone does it from time to time. I know you're not a magazine, but it's an honest mistake and if enough people miss it, then it goes to print. No big deal really.

As a former journalist, I can't really judge. I did articles far smaller than this with more mistakes to show for it.
Plus, these misspellings aren't as bad as seeing Gamespot say Shao Kahn is from the Netherrealm.

Clearly Shao Khan's from Gary, Indiana. Have you ever been there? It smells like Tarkatan poop and despair.
Sorry to anyone from Gary, Indiana, but deep down you know it's true.

The guy who wrote the main article didn't write the little features where Sektors name appears correctly, they were two separately produced pieces for the same game that got slapped on the same page together. Plus Spektor sounds like a legit name, its not like its swektor or something that doesn't make sense, then I'd think it was a typo.
Either way it really isn't a real big deal, I was just pointing it out because Ive never discovered such a mistake in a professional publication. thought it was kinda interesting

amen to that
Dude.. what’s the big deal.. I’m drunk right now (because of the victory from the Netherlands agains Brazil, whoooo), but I found the name Spektor within 30 second on like 10 pages. After that I found his name spelled correct like 3 a 4 times. It’s just a typo... relax.

Meh, a typo is just a typo, nothing too major. Can't really crucify them for some minor mistakes. It's better than Gamespot saying Kahn is from the Netherrealm, as stated earlier.
