Yup taven

I don't have a problem with both, but I chose Taven in the end. This was kinda hard. I'm quite neutral with both, but I liked Taven a bit more.

Agreed with Mime. His move set will be very cool if they threw in the time control thing. Think of the fatalities!!!

Hmm. Tough choice. I slightly prefer Taven overall though. For some reason I sorta wished Frost didn't go insane in the original timeline :P

I also voted for Taven even though he reminds me of Ben Affleck (eww).

Taven bored the shit out of me during Armageddon. Frost at the very least had character with her whole "I'm Subbies student but as soon as the time comes I'm taking that sum-bitches medalion".

I don't approve the inclusion of Tremor either. Also, you could predict the winner of 90% of the pairs, except that people won't tolerate that, causing some of the "lesser" characters win the first round. Havik vs. Noob is almost even, and that's sad, because both of them are better than Frost and Taven, yet either one of them is going to become "lesser" than F/T.
Taven's fire projectiles are generic and his personality is what it is (really?). Frost isn't exactly the epitome of originality either; she is the female Sub-Zero in an ice cube. I'll vote for Taven because his name is almost "tavern". This factor should change everyone's view on Taven.

It is tough choice for me, since I genuinly like both characters. Taven was a good protagonist for the MKA (much better than Sujinko in MKD) and I really liked Frost in MKDA. And her costume is more or less modest comparing to what Midway NRS dished later, so more points for it.

As much as I like Taven I don't see him returning in the series soon - stigma of being in one of the worst games in the series wouldn't be easy to overcome. However, for Frost this is much harder - she has stigma of being clone of the popular character. However, I never thought that she is a clone, more like another take on the existing concept. I am interested to see her return in the future...especially since her "progenitor" has some major problems, like being dead and automatized. After NRS success with recreating less popular characters in MK9, I believe they can make Frost a very interesting character gameplay-wise, though I am afraid they inevitably will screw up her costume, but, well, you can't everything.
So, in the end my vote goes for her.

I say replace Mokap with Chameleon.

Mokap should not even be here. He is a joke character to the joke characters. He's akin to the director and stunt man.

Rain is a joke character. Even though he got a story, he is just a purple ninja named after a Prince song to me.

I voted for the Grand Master Sub-Zero and the Ice Queen Frost. Since Daegon is out, might as well be Taven also.

Just because he is a joke character to you doesn't mean he IS a joke character. They've put some work into his character and storyline to make him a serious character.

Saying Rain is a joke character now is like me saying Frost is a joke character, because her name is Frost and she looks like a human popsicle. Hell, Scorpion looks more like a joke character, because of all the scorpions on his outfit like some comicbook villain. How am I supposed to take that seriously? Or how about Johnny Cage, he is the most laughable character in the game with all his jokes and flirts and so on, and NRS made him like that on purpose - but does that make him a joke character?

Rain might have started out as a joke character, but he isn't any longer. A deliberate joke character is someone like Dan Hibiki from Street Fighter, because he is SUPPOSED to be a joke character and Capcom keeps that image for him. They even made him alot weaker than the rest of the characters on PURPOSE!

So no, Rain isn't a joke character. Mokap is though.

Frost by far... Taven and everything about Armageddon was shit...

They can make Rain as serious as they want. But calling him a serious character is like calling a pig with makeup a lady.

And still doesn't change that he is a serious, fullfleshed character with storyline and his own set of moves.
No matter how much you want to deny it.
