I think if there were plot revolving around it, Bi-Han would be the one who was torn. On the one hand, he trusts the Lin Kuei entirely, but on the other hand, he has much faith in his own abilities. Sektor being for it and Cyrax being against it would act as his conscience trying to sway him one way or the other. I think he'd ultimately be for automation, and this would cause a schism with Quai Liang.

I thought it was funny how all the earthrealm warriors just stood around and watched him get taken. Same when kung Lao died, not that anyone cares, but they all could have said "behind you"

I'm fairly sure he'd be on board. During MKM, SZ never shows anything but total commitment to the clan even when Raiden tells him he's doomed. Later, after becoming Noob he's actually kind of pissed that his brother tried to replace him.

Agreed. Kung Lao for instance could have probably saved his life if he didn't take his razor hat off - or - if Raiden wouldn't have just enjoyed the show.

As for Bi-Han, he would have probably left. Not only did his MK1 ending indicate to that, but the deal offered by the Lin Kuei didn't look too promising. The grandmaster basically hustled his subordinates with the rules. The offer was not fair, especially not for the most powerful fighters, which is why the most powerful individuals resisted.

Point.

If Cyrax's supposition about people losing their innate powers after cyberization is true, then the strongest "craft users" in the clan do have the most to lose.

That'd also be a good reason for all of the low-powered Lin Kuei mooks to actually volunteer for the procedure - whatever advantages they'd receive from their cybernetic enhancements would actually give them more of an edge in battle than their original powers.

You keep mentioning that Cyrax says that they'd lose any of their superhuman powers, but he doesn't. Only their intuition and free will. This would be caused by having the wireless uplink with the Lin Kuei Wiki or whatever they showed CSZ to be connected to. Although I do believe the Grandmaster was pushing iton the others. Not to tone down those with gifts, but to elevate those without(ie: his flamethrower using son)

Bi-Han would beat the shit out of the idiots... And even if he would be Cyber Sub... He would be godly.

Well, his innate power was described as "chi mastery". That's about as vague of a description as you can get.

I suppose we can say that maybe that green net he creates is a manifestation of his powers. And while it's true that he still has it after he gets cyberized,it now comes out of his chest and apparently has a power setting that's adjustable from his arm console (does human Cyrax fuck around with his arm during the net Slice fatality?). So I reckon the nature of his net is not mystical anymore. I'm sure if you asked Cyrax himself,he'd tell you that it's a mere mechanical contraption, a mockery of his power.

But maybe there's another possibility. Maybe his supernatural intuition and enhanced senses in battle ARE his power. That's what chi sensitivity is generally all about. That's not really the kind of power you can visually show in battle,so just by looking at him we wouldn't really know if he retained it after his cyberization. If that's the case, then when Cyrax talks about the loss of his intuition,he's really talking about the potential loss of his power.

Finally, there is also the precedent with Smoke from the old continuity. His actual smoke powers were lost after cyberization, but an attempt was made to replicate them with nanomachines. The same nanomachines Noob later reprograms to turn Smoke into his cyberdemon form.

Well,he had that teleport. Maybe that's his power.

Or maybe he's Pyro in a sense that he can manipulate fire, but can't actually create it. Then again,he never really does anything with it...

You know what, that's the one thing they have to reestablish outside of Mythologies once and for all - do all of the Lin Kuei have powers? Because I'm operating on the assumption that it's the entire paradigm the clan is founded on.

In fact,I would be okay if they came out and said that Sektor in particular had no powers of his own,but still stayed in the clan and had to Rock Lee his way through its ranks because his daddy was the Grand Master, and he got special treatment because of it. That would actually make him a more interesting character. They just need to establish that all of the other Lin Kuei have powers of some kind.

Something tells me that Bi-Han would seriously consider both sides...but end up remaining with the Lin Kuei.

That's why I like his thread. It could really go both ways.
