So you want a party game, I suggest you look up Mario Party if by chance you haven't heard of it.

i wish you could chapter select cuz i like the story and im going to beat it on expert but i was so sad when i did scorpions chapter cuz i wanted to replay it i hope next go around theres a chapter select once you beat it unlike that other idea of separate stories to begin with cuz i love the way they did this story and i think its the best story mode yet for the series.

and some people cry foul at nrs for there story but they deliverd a story that took us on a journey with twists and turns that ended with us suprised that most of the good guys dead but dont worry they will bring the heros back next game

I mean, that was the true story mode for me.The new one sucks balls big time.Epic fail! Just mumbling and fighting.Nothing more.Mk konques had depth and presented the story in fun and interesting way.The story mode in mk9 i fucking boring!

Actually, agree with this.Miss those MKDA and MKD ways of story telling.

MKDA didn't have the same way of storytelling as MKD.

MKDA gave you a select screen and every character had ten missions with plot points or fun facts given with each one.

Personally, that's what form I want to see Story Modes take in the future, except with cutscenes and normal fights instead of text and training missions.

Like a miniature MK9-style Story Mode for every single character. And you'd figure out how they all fit together chronologically the same way you had to figure out how the MK side and the DC side fit together, what fights happen when, in MKvsDCU's story mode.
Either that or they keep the same basic idea as MK9 but abandon chapters and instead have you play as a different fighter on the fly instead of the whole "four fights as the same guy" thing. That way they never rob anyone of screentime or have to come up with bullshit ideas like "in the first round of a tournament, the same guy fights twice in a row" or "Sonya, Johnny, and Smoke already had chapters, so now they can only stand around in a church and do nothing for the rest of the game." And you'd have to be put in control of EVERYBODY at one point or another too, that way the villains don't get ignored and it's not like "Ooh Ermac is such a scary powerful badass...but he loses every fight. Sheeva only shows up to get beat up. Baraka? Loses every fight. Reptile? Do you even have to ask?"

Surprised? Dude, they pulled this type of "twist" for the THIRD time in a row.
The heros died at the start of MK: Deception, they died AGAIN post Armageddon., they died again in MK 2011. They killed off the most important/popular characters TWICE in one game(MK2011).

.Not only did they kill the best known parts of the MK mythology (MK1-MK4) they keep on using the same old twists.

John Tobias had meaningful deaths when he was in charge of the series's storyline. Not to mention he didn't go overboard and kill off half the cast in several games. He killed off characters that added weight to the characters, or served a real plot point for certain characters. For example, Kitana killing Mileena in MK2, gave Kitana AND Jade good story storyline in UMK3. Reptile was added in as a great foil for Jade. I could go on.
MK2011 was the worst interpretation of MK since MK: Annihilation. Everything was so cheesy. In fact, the story mode was like MK: Annihilation.

I thought that the story was alright, but because there were so many inconsistencies from the original story brought in, the original story had so many cool things erased this time, and there were so many interesting, new things brought up that weren't capitalized on, it made this new story very annoying.
For example, I liked the idea of Reptile being Shang Tsung's secret body guard. An interesting way of having him introduced could've been when Sub-Zero tried to fulfill his mission and assassinate Shang Tsung for the Lin Kuei. That could've been a really cool way of bringing in Reptile, maybe giving us the opportunity to control him as he protects Shang Tsung from assassination attempts by the rest of the Lin Kuei members.
Speaking of Sub-Zero, it's already been established that Bo' Rai Cho, even if he fights in the tournament, would have to compete in the name of Outworld... So why is it that Sub-Zero, Cyrax, and Sektor are suddenly exempt from this rule? Granted, since Shang Tsung's from Earthrealm as well, it makes no sense that he can muck around for Outworld too, but that could be explained away by him pledging his allegiance to Kahn like he mentioned in his Armageddon bio.
The Sonya and Kano rivalry, despite the reason for it being established, was promptly forgotten after the tournament. Seriously, one fight between Kano and Sonya? Even after Kano became a general with Shao Kahn and stayed in Outworld for a decade, he still wanted to beat her to a pulp. He kept her hair for Christ's sake! I wanted to see her knock him off that roof. I also wanted to see how they would build up her and Kano being trapped together in Outworld... How awesome would it have been to have played Kano while he's with Sonya, when they're both evading Kahn's minions, and they eventually get captured and chained in Kahn's Arena? Not to mention the epic island explosion, seeing Scorpion and Sub-Zero join forces before they fight to the death, Raiden actually kicking some ass... And this is just MK1 and 2 gold nuggets that were buried back into the earth.
Another thing that could've been played up was the whole "Cyrax was an unwilling cyborg". That was an interesting change, one that I didn't like, but would've probably enjoyed more if they played with it instead of making him and Kuai Liang tragic victims of the Lin Kuei. I'm not saying that Cyrax should've become a good guy, but keeping him human could have brought on some new things for the character.
I really hoped that Noob Saibot wouldn't have been in this game. When I saw Scorpion's chapter and Raiden speaking with him about sparing Bi-Han, I thought this would be freaking awesome. But no, Raiden decides not to bring up how Sub-Zero was too busy getting an amulet to be involved with the death of the Shirai Ryu. HE CAN TELEPORT FREELY INTO THE NETHERREALM, AS ESTABLISHED NEAR TEH END OF THE GAME, BUT NOT DURING THE SCORPION AND SUB-ZERO FIGHT?!
Okay, I have to stop writing. Because the old story had so many interesting things and the new one had great ideas that weren't brought out to their full potential, I can't look at the new story without using a critical eye. They had good ideas, but their executions were poor, some of the old ideas were tossed aside erasing some pretty useful moments for a new-character-per-chapter style game, and the inconsistencies with powers and things just don't sit well with me.

As for Bi-Han, within the original timeline, he was paid to Kill Shang Tsung by wealth backers.

But in MK9, he working with him. Also I know many people love the Bi-Han as Noob Saibot. Both characters can be still good while being independant from each other.
