Okay, so...we saw that Quan Chi has them as zombie soldiers.

We saw that Quan Chi works for Shinnok.

We saw that Shinnok plans to attack Earth and Outworld now that Kahn's out of the way.

What makes you think they'll sit anything out?

He means they won't be playable most likely. If the developers killed them I think they want them to sit the sidelines for a game. I say we may see some as DLC in said next game, but I dint think theyll make it as playable main roster but I dint doubt we will see zombie them.

I think a lot of the stories will combine. Quan Chi and Shinnok will invade Earthrealm with their army of revived warriors because things need to be not-dead to go to Earthrealm. However in the state that Earthrealm's in, Chaosrealm and Orderrealm will take interest in spreading more chaos and developing order respectively, so the three will compete with each other as to who will win. Edenian royalty will notice and join the fight to defend Earthrealm. All while Shujinko is traversing the realms to find the kamidogu for Ona... err, I mean, "Damashi" grin.

Shao Kahn's spirit meets Onaga's spirit, they negotiate with Shao Kahn offering Onaga's revival by possessing Onaga's body and using his heart on himself, in return, Shao Kahn's body will be revived by Onaga. They go their sepperate ways. Shao Kahn will lead an assault against the realms fighting in Earthrealm.

Shujinko aquires the kamidogu (note he will not be imprisoned in Orderrealm for years), and Onaga shows up. Finally Shujinko will inform everyone that Onaga's the real threat, so the forces of each realm will put their differences aside (temporarily) and fight the common threat. Onaga will combine the kamidogu, but this will not turn him into the One Being but just give him an awesome amount of power (like the "prize" in Armageddon).

That's pretty much off the top of my head. And I just made this up as I typed so it's pretty bland. Yes, I am aware that the forces of each realm fighting against a super-powerful dragon king will result in a situation like Armageddon, but I'm sure NRS will make their way around that. tongue

I like it but shao Kahn and Onaga won't agree they hate each ilother especially since Kahn killed Onaga. I think that shinnok also has visions sent to him and is trying to attack earth thanks to raiden. Due to it's immense power earth and outworld must ally to fend off Netherrealm. Meanwhile shujinko is finding the kamidogu. Now what if taven is awakened due to raiden and shinnoks time warping and Armageddon is traded off for a worse problem. He would be fitted with the task of stopping shujinko from wakening Onaga at all costs. Goro and the shokans would ally with fujin due to mileenas tarkatan preference. The shokans could be a huge help in defeating hell and Taven could show up at the end of the game with earths victory and he could inform fujin that the dragon king is on the verge of awakening and the alliances formed may have to be renewed. Also the real champion of the elder gods could be revealed. Idk if anything I typed makes sense.
Either way story will be good. All this talk has me excited for the new one that will come out eventually.

That makes sense actually. Outworld has no ruler and Earthrealm is weakened. Both on their own are no match, even teaming up might not be enough. You think Edenia could join in and maybe Nitara would find her orb and free the vampire realm so they could fight too?

Edenia could help I like the idea of them about to win but then netherrealm begins to implode and chaos spreads making it easy for earth and outworld to finish it off.

Shao Kahn coming back to life at any point in the series now would be a huge plothole. If Shao Kahn is alive when Armageddon happens, he will win, but the cracks in Raiden's amulet healed at the end of MK9. That means that Shao Kahn has been prevented from winning Armageddon. Because he's gone in a permanent way. So he has to stay gone or there's no reason the amulet would've healed.
Of course, I'm not saying he won't come back. I'm just saying he shouldn't. Given how many plotholes we already have in MK9, I'm sure he'll pop right back up, maybe not in the next game, but in MK11 or 12, sure.

Wasn't Edenia freed from Outworld by Sindel and Kitana between MKs 3 and 4?

Yes. Well...at the end of MK3, between 3 and 4...somewhere in there.

But they're both dead now. Everyone who would want Edenia back and have the power to make it happen is. Well...Rain or Tanya might try to pursue that goal, but that's the sort of thing we'd see them do DURING the game, there's no reason for Edenia to already be free at the start of MK10.

Wasn't Armageddon a risk because of the large number of kombatants and their powers? I think Shao Kahn can come back, but that scenario of Armageddon will not happen.

That's why Blaze awakened Taven and started the ball rolling, yeah. There were too many fighters and they were destined to all get together in one spot to fight a war, use their powers at the same time, and the strain of all that chi/magic at once would tear a hole in reality.

Thing is, that's not what Raiden was out to prevent. Raiden was specifically out to prevent Shao Kahn from becoming the destroyer of the universe, by beating Blaze and becoming all-powerful.

The amulet would only have healed if the Elder Gods destroying Kahn (or whatever it was they did) at the end of MK9 made it so Shao Kahn will now NEVER be able to win "the prize" at the end of Armageddon. Y'know, by not being there.

Armageddon itself wasn't prevented by anything that happened in MK9. Blaze still exists. All the 60-some MK characters still exist (the dead ones will just rise out of the Netherealm like they always do, half the cast of Armageddon was people who rose out of the Netherealm lol), the only guy who isn't in the realms anymore is Shao Kahn. And it has to stay that way at least until Armageddon is prevented for real or re-done in a new game, so that Kahn won't be around the next time the pyramid rises, otherwise Raiden's amulet should still be cracked.

The lesser gods mostly live in their own realms, I'm not sure any of them reside in Heaven fulltime, and they're not all-knowing like the Elder Gods are, they might not have even noticed a portal sucking souls away. We have no idea what Heaven looks like or how big it is, after all. If opening a portal there causes a giant torrent of souls to pour out, it could just be a giant ocean of souls or some shit for all we know...or since it's "Heaven", it could look differently to each person. You'd think the realm of eternal reward would be much more...abstract, and metaphysical in nature than the other realms, which all appear more or less material and planet-like.
(...) As for the Elder Gods, they do apparently watch the realms and know everything that's going on at all times - they and Scorpion were watching the DA fight Raiden and the Dragon King's return, for example. They also watched Quan and Shang kill Liu and Kahn and rise to power. It's just that the Elders have a strict non-interference policy, they'll only get involved with mortal affairs if there's a very sudden risk of the entire universe being destroyed.
As for Noob, I hope they go in a direction inspired by his arcade ending and say the Soulnado tearing apart flung him into a random realm - Chaosrealm, where he meets and makes an ally of Havik somehow.

Though I get where you're coming from about the Elder Gods being all-knowing, but choosing to stay away from affairs dealing with mortals, opening a portal into their realm where hundreds of their occupants are being absorbed by a soul-eater should, at the very least, merit some attention.
As for Noob Saibot meeting Havik in Chaosrealm, I'm willing to bet that that was only a subtle nod as to how Havik's designs were originally for Noob Saibot and nothing more. I don't know, I don't find that the characters would even mesh well as a realistic alliance, especially with how unstable Havik is, while Noob Saibot always shows loyalty and rarely showed any ambition for his own goals. I'd rather see him wind up in any other realm and experience something new that channels his lost humanity somehow, even if it drags him deeper into the darkness that he now exudes.

Well first of all, the Elder Gods don't actually live in Heaven. They live in "The Void", the empty space between realms.

MK4 suggested that the gods both lesser and Elder visit Heaven all the time though, like it's a summer home or a good place for them to all meet up with one another and talk business or some shit.

Secondly, I think the Elder Gods don't just have a non-involvement policy, they actually do not care about mortal lives or souls. The occupants of the realms are NOT their subjects or their concern. The Elder Gods didn't create the realms or bring people to life on purpose, they're not creator-gods as we typically think of them. All this shit only exists because it happened accidentally as a by-product of the One Being's defeat. The universe is like an unplanned pregnancy that they gave up for adoption by creating lesser gods to take care of it for them.

The only time the Elder Gods ever give a shit about something happening to a mortal is if it risks destroying or merging realms and thus threatens to wake the One Being back up. That's the only thing in all the universe that the Elder Gods have ever really cared about, preventing the return of the One Being.
As for Noob, I guess I agree that he and Havik wouldn't get along that well over an extended period of time, but I just think that Noob Saibot's motivation, when he actually has a mind of his own, is always to find a way to rule the Netherealm himself. And Havik's main motivation always seems to be to overthrow whoever's currently ruling any given realm, in order to throw it's government into upheaval and chaos...so wanting to toss Shinnok and Quan Chi off the throne of Hell makes sense for him, plus it would give him a logical reason to appear in the next game since MK10 looks like it's gonna be the Quan Chi and Shinnok Show.

YES! YESSSS!!!! I love him!

And wherever Havik is endorsing chaos, Hotaru won't be too far!
