Yeah, way back rumor had it that there was going to be an MK vs. SF game=the Ultimate fighting game ever no doubt but was only a rumor.

Boon did say way back that that would be interesting.

I doubt Midway or Capcom would agree to it though, even though the older MK's and SF play similar the stories are way different, characters, MK is a lot darker then SF is with atmosphere, fatalities and such...there a few things that would have to be looked at.

I would love to see an MK vs. SF game though.

If they were to do what Capcom and SNK both did. SNK made their version of the team up, and Capcom made their version of it. The way each wanted to.

I have a feeling Midway don't want to touch this because the hardcore would likely favour Capcom's version over their own. heh

I'd like to see it. Even if the featured MK characters where Capcomized.

Boon himself said he'd love to see a MK vs. SF, but also admitted it was Capcom and MIdway's lawyers chioce to decide, something that likely would never happen.

I've actually created a few Mugen MK characters that used authentic MK gameplay, but are on size scale with most Capcom and SNK characters, as opposed to appearing 8 feet tall to Capcom/SNK characters.. They lack supers, but the MK damage scale makes up for it. Also unlike most MK Mugen ports, they actually have a block button instead of the hold-back block, as well as bloated special move lists (5-9 a piece).

I've created all 7 male ninjas, Kintaro, and a Shao Kahn that crushes the best Mugen characters. But enough shameless self-promoting...

that would be sweet. I've seen some of the flash versions such as Raiden vs. Ken and Scorpion vs. Ryu. those were some good flash animations.

Furthemore, i was intrigued by the idea so i came up with my own...plot, if you will..
here goes...

Raiden walks around Earthrealm until he feels uneasy. He finds his uneasiness in his dreams where he sees a purple portal. He wonders why it had opened. He couldn't detect any magic or sorcery from Quan Chi or Shang Tsung so they couldn't be involved in it. Raidens summons Liu Kang (human), Kung Lao, and all the other guys and enters the portal.

Bison and band of evil guys opened a portal to another dimension. Little did they know that some people had already passed through their hole.
"I see that you are planning to invade our Homeworld of Mortal Kombat," says Shang Tsung, accompanied by Shao Kahn, Quan Chi and all the other baddies from the MK World.
"Indeed I am. I was looking for Ryu and Ken. o you know of them?" Bison asked.
The MK people looked at each other, wondering if they knew who the two were. They had no clue. "If we help you find these 'Ken and Ryu,' woul you leave our world alone?" Shao Kahn asked.
"We will...our promise...."
Raiden exits the portal and sees two different warriors. One wore white, the other, red. They prepared themselved, but Raiden held up his hand and said, "Don't be alarmed. We mean no harm. Who are you guys?" The one is white spoke first. "My name is Ryu, the other guy is Ken. We are from the realm of Street Fighters." "Really?" Raiden asked. "We are from the realm of Mortal Kombat. Do you know why this portal was opened?" "It was probably the work of Bison and his people," Ken replied. "Who is this 'Bison?'" Liu Kang asked. "The guy trying to invade your realm. We tried to stop him but they were too quick. We had been too late." The guys from the MK world talked amongst themselves. "Is he a tyrrany to your world as well?" "Yes." "We'll help you defeat him. Then, we'll head back to our realm, via the portal again." "Well said," Ryu hel his hand out gesturing for a handshake. Liu Kang walked up and shook his hand. (Screenshot) Midway an Capcom presents... Mortal Kombat versus Street Fighters!! So it would be the good guys of MK and SF versus the bad guys of MK and SF. And I would prefer it if it was in the classics mode. That way, most of the people would have their original specials and combos. Wouldn't that be sweet?

Overall Results: MK-SF: 8-3

Honestly, I say screw that MK "capcomnized" crap lol. Both Midway and Capcom should scrap their current oldschool 2D engines(since they are different) and agree to make a new one from scratch that looks some what 2D in a realistic fashion.


There's also the case with fatalities, would Capcom want to see Ken or Ryu get their head ripped off by Sub-Zero or burnt to a crisp by Scorpion?

I'd care about any game that had Scorpion (playable) in it.

Of course dude, hell yeah any MK or SF game has never been made without Sub, Scorpion, Ken and Ryu popping up at some point

This possibly is the worst idea to hype up the series. Among other things, MK does bad abroad in the orient. Second, it would jump the shark badly.

The trick is if you're unsuccessful, it's a bad risk and you fail. If you succeed, who cares as long as the game does well enough for the series to live on which is more then I can say for SF and KI series...

Anyway, latest rumor actually is MK vs. DC, an intriguing idea and if Marvel vs. Capcom could work then so can MK vs. DC.

We'll see what happens.
