Should it be the monks again? Scorpion and Sub-Zero? Other characters?

My reaction to the former two: Yawn. I'd rather it be other characters. So many possibilities, such as:

Kitana, Jade and Mileena, when they were all assassins for Shao Kahn. They should ignore Mileena being born recently just for that game. Other assassins like Skarlet and Reptile could be hidden characters with their own campaigns.

Baraka. That ritual of blood mentioned in his MK9 bio would be interesting to explore.

Erron Black, beginning in the old west. He'd eventually discover Outworld.

A Special Forces remake closer to John Tobias' original vision, or at the very least one that features Sonya as a playable character. Personally, I'd like Hsu Hao in the game as a playable character, back when he was infiltrating the special forces.

Kabal and Stryker, showing how Kabal managed to leave the Black Dragon and become a police officer, and revealing whether or not Stryker knew of Kabal's criminal past. Alternately, Kabal could be playable in a MK:SF remake and get his own campaign.

Sareena, also featuring Jataaka, Kia and Ashrah (all as playable characters, preferably), showing us their origins, and how they each ended up as Quan Chi's assassins.


I could go on. But I guess we can look forward to an adventure where we'll keep hearing "Get over here!" over and over.
