I've heard we'll get new skins for the new fighters, The Pit kept popping up and on another site I read some of the mobile exclusives, Gold Scorpion and more skins for older fighters too. Also more klassic fatalities was mentioned. For the new fighters I've heard the following mentioned as possible: Sindel, Baraka, Rain, Sektor and Noob. I'm all giddy to see what we get. Tee-hee. :)

I admit that I'm rather surprised that we didn't see anything this week. I've been on vacation out of state the entire week otherwise I would've checked in. Makes me wonder just how much info they try to hold on to before they officially announce anything.

I'd honestly expect something to come out during The Game Awards or less likely the Playstation event in December.

Of course thats If we're getting anything at all this year.

I give zero fucks about MKX, but I would feel pretty bad for the people who held onto the last hope for some sort of info regarding kp 2. Like god damn, if they ended up pulling that again, salt and tears would fill the void which was full of hopes and dreams.

I am just lost for words right now. I don't know what they're thinking at this point. Like, Ed says "soon" about news for KP2. That was over 20 days ago. I was holding onto Frabn's rumors, and yes I believe him, and maybe his friend at NRS was telling the truth. Maybe it's still not ready to be shown, I understand. But this, this is just fucking ridiculous.

At the very least drop some hints to troll us because that's all they know how to do. Say something like oh it's very WINDY today.

Guys, last time Ed Boon used the word "soon" was right after Injustice came to be.
And he was talking about the next MK game. It took two years to become MK X.

With "soon" he surely meant December, before Xmas.

On a unrelated note, do not expect more than a single new stage, one extra skin only for the characters that hadn't one and just four characters. They'll be Rain, Baraka, Sindel and Fujin.

They can short the lenght of the select screen and add two extra slots on the left and right of it, next to Predator/Jason and Tanya/Tremor.

They can replace the question mark with the "The Pit' icon (btw, there is an image of it on the main menu of the mkx mobile app, "battle mode" I think).

If we are lucy, perhaps we can have a couple of patches. But that's it.

Why am I speaking this way?

Because 2016 is going to be Injustice 2 announcement year. They need to save time and resources. And they cannot cannibaliza Injustice with Mk X or viceversa.
In other words, expect the moet cheap and quick work possible.

I appreciate the faith in me...it's not something I would just randomly post. Having worked at Blizzard I made some pretty cool connections in the development field. I was pretty surprised to hear that my contact had relocated and joined up with NRS.

Ultimately, I wouldn't take the lack of news as a bad sign...he made it seem like they were hard at work on it. I'm sure the possibility of KP2 was in the planning stages long before they announced it, and once sales shattered records they probably kicked it into gear. Remember...they based the release of KP2 on the success of the base game. It was obviously a runaway hit, so they're probably approaching it carefully. I wouldn't be surprised if at least some DLC costumes were planned for release, but the characters were probably not on the table until the game's success could be measured.

I really don't think he was BSing me. It's one thing to say you work there and just spout garbage, but it's solid that he does work at NRS so he'd have no reason to lie...only Ed really plays the whole trolling game. John Vogel even drops some pretty big hints, seemingly by accident, and then defers to Ed if the questions he is asked go a little too far into "inside info" territory.

I still believe that Ed Boon and WB should step up and make the point clear: we are developing KP2, it will feature these characters, this stage and costumes and it will be released in .....insert estimated date here. Exactly like they did with KP1.

With all the base roster complaints, some of y'all deserve Ed's "trolling", and vague KP2 info, as an F U to seemingly ungrateful fans.

I just find it funny.

What if they get even more complaints when/if the KP2 gets released?

It's how they work. How quickly everyone seems to forget the 2-3 month drought this time last year after Quan Chi was announced. We had nothing until the new year when Kung Lao / Kitana emerged.

This is nothing new. It's how they operate. We should be used to it by now.

I beg to differ. People around my college campus still play the game every now and then and even hold little competitions, the game is still being played in a lot of areas. A good friend of mine is becoming really interested in MK now as well, so I'd say much of the interest is still there.

Funny because every time I hop on the game is a ghost town. Now it has been a couple months since I played because I got fed up with that netcode. But I can't imagine the online traffic has got any better since I left.

And do you see any buzz for this game on other sites? Fuck there's no buzz on THIS site for crying out loud. I'm glad your friend is taking an interest but if you really think this game is popping right now I don't know what to tell you.

Assuming information is not revealed on Thurs, does your source have any updated information on if the story mode characters will be released in addition (Perhaps as Free DLC) to the paid KP2 characters?

If you seriously think they are gonna add story mode characters as free dlc, I would like to have what you're smoking.

Yeah, I'm not sure why the hell this theory is gaining steam, but it's insane.

It's the stupidest "theory" ever. They would never put that much work into characters (VA, Mocap, balancing, etc) just to give them away for free. Never going to happen.

When we talked about it weeks back, he was coy about it. Not Boon-level coy, but enough so that it could've been either or. He simple said "the fanbase will be happy". I take that to mean that they listened to the cries for story mode.
