Kai has some serious potential. He is often viewed as boring, and sometimes is. But I like him and would like to see him again with a awsome moveset, styles of kombat, and special moves. Kai can really be something in MK if worked on hard enough.

True that, Kai was an interesting character in MK4 and his roots touched unmarked territory in regards to an area of the world that represents fighters. For example, Johnny Cage represented America, Liu Kang China... Kai represented Africa and the ancient tribes and gave honor to the Capiora fighting style.

Although Kai's storyline was a tad pale he had great potential. I think Mortal Kombat 7 would be a great oppurunity to see Kai return. Raiden has a new change of heart and we have not seen from Kai in a long time, so alot could have happened to him over the years.

Another character that I would like to see return is Fujin.

Kai was just a waste of space in MK4, imo. However, eevn though I hated hima nd thought him useless, I would give him a second chance in the series. All they need is a new look, story and possibly new moves and he could be pretty good.

People say he has potential, but I don't think he really does. His MK4 story did nothing for him at all. He's just another Earth warrior. They didn't make him interesting in any way and for him to come back and have people like him, he's going to need to be fun and somewhat cool.

True, Kai's storyline was very weak but he had potential. I liked his special moves a lot.

I would've like him a lot more than Darrius in MK:D Just take a look at the concept art of Kai in MK:DA, he looked brilliant! why oh why didn't they put him in MK:D

Kai has a lot of potential as a fighter. He was one of the most interesting in MK4/MKG, and along with Quan Chi, the only newcomer worth a damn. He was hard to use, but unique, and I think he would work very well in the new fighting system. Give him caperoia as one style, some Shaolin kung fu, and the gurkha knife, and expand on his story and Kai could become a great character. I still hope we see Kai again, MKD brought back many of MK's "B list" characters, and he alomst made MKDA, so I think he still has a decent chance. But PLEASE Midway, just because Kai's black, don't turn him into a stereotype. You ruined Jax like that, with his stupid hip hop style that didn't fit him.

yea kai i really liked cause hes got this indian tribe type look which made him unique from the other characters and thats kool that they have blaks in this game lol (jade, tanya, darrius, jax, and kai). it will be neat if they added sum ancient hispanic character 2 lol but anywayz i would luv to see kai bak

I didn't really like him. He was just another random monk to me.

I fall into the group that sees Kai as unmet potential. I also agree with others that think that the right story, coupled with a capoiera fighting style and some sweet special moves would make him a truly great character. Perhaps even a mainstay character. Yes, I think he could be that good.

First off, they need to get him away from the White Lotus society. His look is tribal and completely unique. Why they just went ahead and made him another monk is beyond me. Second, if they have him use capoiera, it has to be done well. Don't just half ass it like a majority of the other fighting styles (in other words, don't have the same punches and kicks for this style as are seen in multiple other styles). Lastly, give him some unique special moves. Don't use past moves or past animations. Keep his special moves from MK4 but add alot to them.

I never saw Kai as a failed character. He's not Reiko, Jarek, Hsu Hao or Stryker. To me, those guys are beyond hope. Kai had a good look to him and some sweet moves, but his story was so bad and so boring that it completely offset his good qualities. If the MK team can change that, I believe that Kai could be a semi-regular character for years to come.

I personally don't like him. So I say "NO!".

I'll give him a second chance, but they better make him good dammit. I hated Lui Kang, but since he's a Zombie, he's fresh. Since he won't be a zombie afterwards, I wont' like him anymore. So if they do something interesting with Kai, I'll give him a chance. Other than that, I've never liked him.

Kai was horribly boring in MK4. He had okay moves and a lame storyline. Also he wasnt black....he was asian. He was part of the White Lotus Society which is in China.

He did have potential though. With a bit of design work and better storyline he could be semi-cool.

Didn't they make an sketch of him in MKDA. I think it was in the Krypt. hhhmm... they probably were planning on bringing him back. Who knows?

i think they should bring back kai he has some potetntial but i also thought reiko was decent he was good with out his special moves that sucked his story wasnt great but i think they could ressurect him to be a bad ass but i think that he died because they tryed to kill shao kahn but reiko was a decoy and i think they killed him trying to assasinate shao kahn

I really want to see Kai return.

I loved his special moves in MK4.

They just need to make the vertical fireballs have more range so they don't miss so much.

Also give him other useful moves and he could be a great character.

Take a good look at Kai. That's a black man, he was a black man in MK4, and he remained a black man in his MKDA concept artwork. He is admittedly lighter skinned than Jax/Cyrax etc, but Kai's probably more Carribean descent than African (it would explain the Caperoia too).

How much more black do you want Kai to be? Should they do like Jax and give him a hip hop makeover? An afro and disco suit perhaps? I hope he's given none of these things, they ruined Jax by making him a stereotype, let's not murder anyone else's character like this.
