Hmmmmm you could tweet or msg netherrealmstuidos and ask them what you can do to revert whatever happened. Or if a lot of people are having the same issue.
I know the game dead island had corrupted saves here and there which made me lose my lvl 40 char. Eventually they made a patch to restore all the previously corrupted saves.

Hope they will help you resolve your corrupted save

Etc stuff to help relieve pain of losing progress
dark empress kitana=hourly tower gold ranking(using kitana?)
dark emperor liu kang= beat challenge tower 5 or 6 times in a row
Use kitana throat cut brutality for easy gold ranking in towers and fast exp/fxp

Ok so try this to see if you can get in the game and if your game save is safe. If it is then back it up in a usb drive.
1.go to ps4 setting> playstation network> sign off
2.start mkx go into settings
3. Press ps button and go back to playstation network and sign back
4.enjoy mkx again

my skins are all still there :D
