Debunking the myth

Why would it not be accurate? It is not difficult for NRS or any company to find out user data on their game. All that happens is that it records the players PSN ID/GameTag, puts it in a spreadsheet, gets the usage numbers in the Krypt and then just totals it up. It is not hard.
Rain probably is not on there because his numbers are far below everyone elses and they did not update it with his usage showing.
No, it still updates now. The good thing about computers is they do not need breaks. Open the list and wait for an half an hour then F5 to refresh the page. The numbers would have changed.

I'm pretty sure that's not accurate, Rain isn't even on the list lol. I thought it stopped updating after like a year.

Interesting, guess I was wrong. I just assumed it wasn't accurate because i've been told a few times before that that list wasn't accurate. Cool to know that's not true, though. GG Rain lol

Not really. They brought back everyone who has been popular for years. Scorpion, sub, raiden, liu kang, sonya, kitana, kung lao, johnny cage are the most iconic. Jax was played wayy more than mileena according to the list. Also story comes into account. Quan chi is vital to story. Kano isnt really but hes an og so he alwats gets a pass to be in. If your fav wasnt insanely popular or vital to story and they died they didn't cone back for this game.

And what about this list;

I don't think NRS makes choices on popularity at all or story based because how can Noob a top 10 character on any list you look at and arguably the most famous netherrealm kombatants miss out on a game with a story based largely around the netherrealm invasion????
Maybe the soulnado will turn him into a special forces earth realm fighter and he will be in the next game

The most famous netherrealm combantant is scorpion and story wise quan chi is a more important figure than noob and hes semi popular.

Jax was op. I hardly think that's a good reason to bring him back........ Most people did not want sonya and Johnny in the game cus of Cassie.
