You know, the more I think about it the more I think that could still happen. Ed never says WHEN Kotie Khan (Yup gonna start calling him that) becomes emperor. It could be 10-25 years later for all we know. But if Mileena does become Empress, she eventually gets evicted from the throne.

Hopefully she doesn't just give it up. Outworld civil war?

I can easily picture "Empress Mileena" being a female version of King Joffery once she's surrounded by a coup d'état party. She can be screaming "KILL THEM! KILL THEM ALL!" XD

There is new version of the Raiden's trailer with narration. The only change is that Kotal Kahn called "current emperror of the Outworld".

Also, there are five new renders with Raiden. One general render, not like ones for characters from E3. Three with description of each variation and final one with all three versions of Raiden next to each other.

Perhaps but I doubt it. I mean if it were the case I could see Mileena doing a very poor job managing the land and eventually being forced out by some kind of Outworld uprising lead by the original inhabitants. Or even Reptile or the Shokan. I mean I doubt she would be feared like Kahn so I doubt many would have as many reservations with opposing her.

Da thunder god is lookin' good, but I'm more interested in Fujin, Shinnok, Reiko, Hotaru, Havik, or Tanya.

Ed Boon says that Kotal Kahn is the new Emperor of Outworld? That's interesting. I really can't wait to see the Jungle area!

How can you really tell if those are women and that id the posters are MK related?
You can pause it from 12 to 19 secs in and because of the glare, it's impossible to figure the posters out.
I paused it a looked/stared at them and I many possible out comes. Got to try and look at them at different angles.

Here is what I got from the posters (if MK related)...

Over Boon's left shoulder:

*Looking at it directly I see a female, maybe Tanya.
*Different angle, looks like a "ninja" which could be Reptile or Jade/Kitana or Mileena.

Boon's right shoulder:

Even though I'm not big on Kano, I'd certainly welcome that. Right now, we need some better resolution pics of him.

So its seems Kahn is the official title of the Emperor of Outworld. This is reinforced by one of Kotal's in-game lines ("Pray for the Kahn's mercy!") I think in the original Raiden trailer.

Are you referring to Kotal Kahn? If you are, then you are wrong. Kotal is emperor of Outworld, but, not boss. The boss is a returning character.

I'm liking everything MKX the more I'm seeing. I think that Displacer Raiden looks fun as hell. Did he throw Kotal backwards in mid superman for another hit? I love the creativity and flow in the gameplay.

So Ed said that a lot of Raiden'd allies are dead or "gone." The dead part makes sense, as I didn't wxpect to see Jax, Smoke, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Kitana, Nightwolf etc. But the "gone" part intrigues me, as it makes me think that Cage and Sonya, while probably big parts of the story, might not be playable or really part of the action in that regard.

As for Kotal, he's quickly becoming one of my favorite characters announced so far. The totems, the look, I still hope that he has a lot more in the way of moves, but so far, so good.

I also like that Kotal's a big player (ruler of Outworld) but he's not the final boss. It's nice to see as many major players as possible.

As for Kano, I'm really starting to get pumped for his full introduction to the fanbase. Yes, he was revealed in images, but I want to see them show him off in game, hear a few details about his story and definitely see his wrestling style in action. Here's hoping his look is a bit better than my initial impression.

Last thing here: Anyone find it odd that Boon tweeted responses specifically about Ermac and Reptile tonight? There were like five of each one right after another. It was just fan artwork, and he trolls on twitter to no end, but it just seemed odd, especially acknowledging a trend with people wanting those characters.

Yeah, I'm on that like white on rice. Posted about it in the twitter thread. I can only hope these are hints at Gamescom. If Reptile is revealed, ecstatic doesn't even begin to describe the feeling. So anything that comes after that, I'll buy it straight.

Did you notice that Raiden's Storm Lord hat is different from the other two variations? Potential plot point, but highly doubtful...
