Something tells me that literally everybody will kick Black Dragon asses... Not the most popular bunch to be honest.

The characters have nothing to do with the factions. It's just some online gimmick. One could use Kano and giving points to the special forces or lin kuei.


I'm more interested to find out if the lin kuei portrayed in this game will be the clan of backstabbing assassins of the initial trilogy or the redeeming heroes of deadly alliance and deception. Any guess?

I can already see it. All the online noobs will join the Lin Kuei - even noob Scorpion fans who think every ninja belongs to that group. I am staying clear of the Lin Kuei faction because it's going to be a clusterfuck of a mess.

Black Dragon for me.

I know I'm a broken record at this point but I REALLY hope the factions are hinting at the story. As in all factions against each other, no more black and white good vs evil.

I don't know who I'll be going with, but I'm stuck between Special Forces and Black Dragon. I think I'll choose depending on the other members of the factions.

They really might. I know the Lin Kuei at least their own motto. They might not all have one though because that might be a little too on the nose. But I think there is an influence for sure. Just the idea of the story revolving around the wars that occur in a power vacuum is so reminiscent of it that when you add the faction stuff it seems very evident. I am so down for that though.

I'm probably going to main Sub-Zero, but I'll likely hop between factions with him. Unless doing so resets my XP or something.

with the human centipede of scorpion ass eating its difficult to imagine his clan not being included. unlockable maybe? something stupid like only people who beat the story can join that one.

I'm disappointed there is no shirani Ryu either. Where does scorpion (and Takeda if he's included) fall in terms of faction?

Not only that but the lin kuei is the only faction without an immediate rival.

I may smell an unlockable faction! Probably unlocked in story mode.

I don't know why, but this has a Destiny-vibe towards it. Not saying that in a bad way, I love Destiny.

Can't wait to join the Lin Kuei and kick some ass.
