I'm guessing that Kombat Pack 1 is going to be
Spawn
Li Mei
Baraka
Rain
Since three of those play a role in the story and NRS wouldn't bother with modeling them if they weren't to be playable at some point.
Based on Injustice having additional DLC, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a second Kombat Pack.
Sindel should be a given since she has a model
Predator has been hinted at.
The last two will hopefully be Frost and Reiko since they were in the comic.
I guess this means no Sektor since I can't see a way for him to fit into the game. Sub-Zero is already Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei before even the events of the comic, leaving his rival for the next game. Smoke also won't make it in since I don't see any sign of him. I also kind of like Nitara and Havik but I don't see either of them returning until the sequel. If MKX didn't skip ahead to the present and focused on the Neathrrealm War, I feel like Sektor, Ashrah, Noob, Sareena and Funjin would have been part of the game. NEXT TIME!!!!!

Yea nothing of that leak is special. Simple reading the comics and being a mk 9 player you could come up with that list, a while ago.

So in total that would be:
Interesting.
Analysis: "Source" got the Kung Jin = Bow Job connection right, and if he had merely guessed Kung Jin from the casting call then why not also call out Bo' Rai Cho, Ron Tan' Cho, or maybe even Salazar as being separate from Erron? If it's not legit, then Kung Jin was still a pretty good guess.
With Shinnok being in, the prophecy of Himmerick's tweet would be fulfilled. The number of returning MK4+ characters would indeed be "not zero," so there's really nothing more we can infer from that.
Looking at the full list, there's actually a decent amount of variety here. A full third of the roster is new; 7/24 female representation on the base roster, tying with MKD for best ratio in the series. Good mix of good guys, bad guys, and potential wildcards. Good mix of interesting powers and weapons.
If this is indeed the final roster, then I would be mostly happy except for two things:
First, if Liu Kang is in, then he'd damn well better be on fire. Like, a godly amount of fire. Otherwise I don't see much of a place for him to belong if the Cassie Squad is supposed to be the Big Damn Heroes and Johnny is Raiden's new prodigy.
Second, over a third of the roster would be dominated by one big extended family; Cassie Squad and their relatives take up 9 spots. This wouldn't be too big a deal with a roster of say, 28, but with 24 it seems a bit crowded -- especially with Jax and Jacqui sharing a character gimmick of having robo-hands of some sort. Maybe if they switched out one or two of the five parents to be DLC bonuses (Jax and Sonya pack?), and rotated in a couple popular outliers, it would seem a bit more balanced. (Then again, they might be holding on to the "popular outliers" to make sure the DLC sells.)
I'd really like to see Reiko make it in due to how powerhouse he seems to be in the comic. And though I'm ambivalent about Rain, it would be a shame to build him up so much in previous games and then make such a big deal of him in both the comic and story mode, and not follow through by adding him to the roster. I'm also cheering for Havik and Bo' Rai Cho, though Havik sadly seems less relevant to the story after this last trailer. Add in at least two of those four, and this would be as close to an "ideal" base roster as I could ask for, by my taste.
Generally, if this is in fact the final cut, I would prefer for the base roster to be more than just these 24 characters. Granted, DLC will take up some -- maybe a lot -- of the slack. But it still seems a little heavy on family, even considering that Takeda and Kung Jin are shaping up to be very unlike their forebears. It's a good roster I think, but only "just" good; it needs a couple of truly unexpected veterans, or at least one more unknown newbie to add some spice.
I could be content with this though, if there is good DLC. They're bound to have some cool DLC options if they really want to command some sales. If they're really feeling adventurous, I'd bet they'd push at least one awesome newbie as DLC.

I'm still hoping to see Kintaro or some other new monster as surely it would been a lot of work to rig and build the anatomy for Goro just to put him as a pre-order bonus character - Plus one of the last comics before launch mentioned Kintaro leading an uprising as well as Kano stabbing a shokan in the hand in the comics

That's way too many good guys..

9/24 isnt enough? Kotal is kinda neutral but you may can count him as evil then that makes 10. Liu kang could be the evil boss to make ot 11 but i dont see that happening. So lets for now assume the ratio of good to bad is 14/10. Not bad and if you add goro its 11 to 14.

Kinda be a disappointing roster, if this is it..I know JC, Sonya and Jax are staples but their kids clearly have the elements of them..And poor sub-zero he doesnt have any homie lin kuei members..

Question:
When and where was this Kung Jin guy first mentioned? I heard rumors about him way before this story trailer but I had no idea who he was. Immediately associated him with Kung Lao.
Plus I first heard about him on facebook of all places. Anymore info on who he is besides the "bowman"?

At first glance, yes, but then you realize a nice amount of these good guys will be bad for a portion of the story mode (Kitana, Kung Lao, Sub-Zero, Jax as revenants).
And we're probably gonna get a few chapters for bad guys this time around. They played with the idea in Injustice when we got Joker, Deathstroke and Lex Luthor.
And don't forget that Kotal's group is neutral to Earthrealm, so they're very flexible and can provide many fights (both as and against).
Throw in some good ol' fashioned NRS Johnny vs. Jax-style fights and we're good to go.

Right? Which is odd considering the ratio MK9 ended with.
Personally I really hope Johnny and Sonya aren't playable, and frankly I doubt they will be. Sounds like this guy had a lucky guess about "bow guy".

According to that guy with a connection at NRS, the final 11 were / are:
Sonya
Johnny Cage
Jax
Jacqui
Liu Kang
Kung Jin aka Bow Guy
Mileena
Erron Black
Kenshi
Takeda
Shinnok
Seems to be more than a lucky guess at this point, especially because of Shinnok and Kung Jin as the bow guy.

Normally I'm really careful if it Comes to final rosters. But in this case I think it's legit because he posted it BEFORE the Story trailer was revealed.
But... I don't like the roster.. I don't Need Jax or Sonya. Johnny is OK but only if his outro from MK9 comes true. In the end I can live with this roster.. And have my hopes high for some good old faces as DLC (Fujin, Sektor, maybe Baraka)

If this is the final roster, I'll be happy.
If not, I'll still be happy.

Either way, it's a win - win.
Just from the story mode trailer, I don't think that Erron Black is a confirmation yet. Looks very blocky, as if atm his build is only for story mode with a possible DLC down the line.
The new Rain and Shinnok models look far more likely. Even Li Mei looks more finished

Oh yeah! That's right! I completely forgot about the casting call list. So THIS is where I actually first heard about him.
That means this list is legit then right? Bo Rai Cho is in or he at least has story mode dialog which is nice either way.

So cassie, sonya, and johnny?
Jax and jaquie?
Kenshi and Takeda?
Knowing NRS I know they'll all have unique and interesting designs, BUT that still seems kinda lame. MKX is becoming full house the fighting game. Plus Jax, Kitana, Lui, Kung, and Kuai liang all back from the meaningless dead.
RIP Reiko, Tanya, Fujin, Havik, Hotaru, Li Mei, Noob, and Rain. Hope you fare better in DLC, other than rain of course. Which sucks.
Way to many good guys imo. There is like no threat in this game, just a bunch of good guy bros fist bumping and high fiving all through story mode.
Really hope Shinnok makes the cut tho.

15/26 characters in mk9 were good excluding scorpion since he was neutral.
In mk D: most of the characters are neutral and if we do good to be its 12/7
In mkda: 12/21:characters were good. If you exclude scorpion its 12/20.
In mk4:Âa 8/15 are good and once again you exclude scorpion its 8/14.
There has always been more good than bad in mk. Why are you acting if it's something new? Most of you are trying to bring that argument up because you dont want the leak roster to become a reality.

Unless Jacqui has some pretty unique moves I'm sure there is no need for Jax
We could have had Reiko instead but I'm sure he will be in story mode somewhere. Maybe we even have hidden characters we don't know about?

I think this MK wil do exactly that. But you just can cut all the long belove characters of the series without a good transition, I think that watching their favorite characters get old, wiser and becoming legends, their fans could more easily acept their departure

This is a generational MK story. Remember how successful new characters who were just plopped on the roster turned out before? GONE. Transitional is the key word here. Well said.
