Get rid of low pokes and low kicks

I personally think the low pokes and kicks are stupid, sweeping kicks are good though don't get me wrong. It's just not how a fight should go on with these stupid looking low pokes. Plus the animations look funny and out of place. I know this feature has been in MK since the first game, but for MK7 they should get rid of this, it's getting old.

No.
Chrome is exactly right. There are only a few martial arts which don't have low 'pokes,' (Muay Thai being the only one I can come up with off the top of my head, although it does have low punches, except Traditional Judo, which has no punches or kicks, only throws), and none (excepting the punch-and-kick-less Traiditional Judo) without low kicks.

maybe we should get rid of throws, sweeps, roundhouse kicks, special moves, blocking and punches and just have the guys thumb wrestle....i think this maybe up there with the worst posts..............low kicks and pokes are essential to the gameplay...plus they are important in real fighting as well take a look at UFC and watch how many times they kick low

Nope.

Mortal Kombat: Thumbskull! That would be awesome.
Holy crap, that was a lame joke.

We need the low pokes, if we only have the slower low moves then low attacks would be too easy to block.
So keep them and give them good properties. Not the same for all though.

LMFAO, good shit.
Yeah, dude, if you ever watch MMA like pride or the ufc, dudes get jacked up with low kicks all the time. I'm not a big fan of applying reality to games, but in this situation it's a good tool to make the connection.
Take low pokes out of a fighter....lol, wtf?!

What does look weird to me is the standard crouch.
Just sitting there, I never see that in real fights unless one person is trying to tackle another or if they are dodging like in boxing.
Usually to block low attacks people use their legs or just move back, not crouch unless they are already in the crouch position like after a knock down or a crouch attack.
I study Tae Kwon do by the way.
blk or back+blk would be the normal High/Med blocking, but realistic looking.
I'd have db+blk be a standing High / Low guard, so like in real life when you defend against highs, you would automatically duck or sway while moving back. Against lows, you would block with your legs or step back.
Then I'd have the regular crouching be d+blk or df+blk. Just because it's good for video game play. For rising attacks and avoiding throws and highs. Maybe power blocking low attacks like when you block Paul's d+4 and he stumbles.
ub+Blk cold be a back hop or quick back flip that avoids lows if timed right. Like with the VF4 side step.
Or tap bb+blk for the same thing but to defend against H / M attacks.
Back dashing while blocking is something I do all the time for real.
I'd also change the block stance so its not so stupid looking.
Again in real life you don't usually see someone with one arm up or 2 arms up unless they are about to get hit.
So with a block button, I'd have a slight change in the fight stance or a quick flinch. When the opponent attacks, that's when you do the block animation.
I'd also have it so you can move around while holding block. Maybe more slowly though, like you are expecting an attack.
