This. It would be an interesting twist if he was on the good guy's side...at least for a bit. But idk, I liked how he was with the villains but wasn't really a bad guy.

Well so far, he and Bo' Rai Cho share one thing in common with the two upcoming DLC characters... they're both modeled in the game... so hopefully they will return as I was a fan of both of them.

Im pretty sure story mode in this game is exactly like the one in MK Vs DC. I:e They are videos that use the in game engine. Not actually animated in game as it were.

But Hotaru being in the first scene with Bo Rai Cho and Kenshi is a good sign.

Seido's existence is still acknowledged, and Hotaru's the only character from Seido people actually like. So yeah, you'll see him again.

I liked Havik.

The only post MK4 characters we've seen in story mode, including the intro, and arcade endings are Kenshi, Li Mei, Bo Rai Cho, Hotaru, and Havik IIRC. That probably means the chances of them returning in the future are good, especially considering Kenshi will be DLC. This is excluding arena cameos like the Pit background, BTW. But if those were included, then Reiko, Sareena, Tanya, Frostand Daegon at the very least have a good chance too.

Not really a big fan of Hotaru but im hoping people like ermac and rain will stay

Given that most of those are only static renders or low-res models I would tak it with a grain of salt that they mean anything regardingfuture DLC or new game characters. Likely, with a few exceptions, we will see most of the post-MK3 characters make heir way into future games. Hell, the mass character deaths in MK9 seem to necessitate their inclusion just to kep the roster up going forward.

I had a big crush on Horatu. I really dig his helmet costume. I wish he comes back, even if I don't really care about Seido or the Chaos Realm.

Watch the introduction cut-scene precisely and you will notice a corpse with red flags.
