10. Mileena- I have never was the biggest fan of her, but I don't !mind her. I mostly want to see her in MKX to see how she plays into the story. I want her to be like how she was in Deception. She can still be crazy, but I want her to be smart and actually be a major player.

9. Forest Fox- I am not sure if he will only be in the komics, but my main reason for wanting him, is so that we have another Sherai Ryu member. The Lin Kuei has subzero, frost, cyrax, smoke, sektor. The Ryu just have Scorpion.

8. Fujin- Fujin was my favorite character back in Armageddon, and I feel like he never got to be fleshed out. His powers are unique. He has wind, crossbow, and I think he had a wind staff. Anyways, Raiden needs allies, and Fujin is one of Earthrealm's best.

7. Ermac- I used to love Ermac. I hated him in MK9. He was super spam my and he was just another lackey for Shao Kahn. If he is in MKX. I want him to be good, or neutral. I would also like to see his Axe come back. He could be lost, wandering around the netherealm, and have a rivalry with Ashrah. And then during the war in the netherrealm, Raiden finds him and recruits him.
6. Bo Rai Cho- I think Bo has such a cool back story. I love the idea of him being the old man master. With Raiden needing allies, who would he first go to? The person who taught the MK champion of course! His humor can be toned down a bit, but MK can use another Lighthearted character.

5. Shinnok- IMO, Shinnok was the least threatening. But that shouldn't be! Shinnok I think could be scary. He is the ruler of the netherrealm for gods sake! Im positive he will be back and I want him to be scary and powerful. I loved his moves in Armageddon and they could make Shinnok into one of the best characters.

4. Tanya- Tanya definitely needs more moves in her arsenal, and I would say that she was pretty generic, except for the fact that she is the single biggest b!tch in MK. She betrays everyone! I love that. She has so much story and move potential. I think it would be cool if Raiden recruited her then she betrayed them for Shinnok or even Kotal. Out of all the female ninjas, she deserves to return most.

3. Havik- Havik is so cool. Like I can't even. He has soooooooo much move potential. He could have a variation involving his morning star, one with him breaking his bones, or one with throwing his limbs at you. It would also be funny if every time you hit him he would say something like "thats all you got?" Or "you fight like a little girl!" He could be crudely funny. I want to see the Chaosrealm get involved in the story, just to cause chaos. Havik is unpredictable.

2. Hotaru- I love Hotaru. He and the realm of Seido could add a lot to MKX. I always have thought Hotaru as the Hitler of MK and I want to see him invade Out world. His variations could be based on lava, his naginata, and his armor. I also really like his design. The greens blues black armor and flags, was really cool to me.

1. Li Mei- Li Mei is my most wanted character. I always thought she was really interesting. She fought for her village in Out world during DA and Deception, and I feel like that would play well in MKX since there is a war in Out world. She could be recruited by Raiden and be Bo Rai Chos next protégée. I am not sure what her variations could be. She has a sparkle projectile and some inhumanly possible flip kicks. They could be a variation. And there is the flying punches. It is also not too late to give her new moves too.

I wouldn't mind see Sindel, Kabal, Kitana, Rain, Frost, Reiko, Ashrah, Kira, Smoke, Sareena, Nitara, and Skarlet. But it doesn't matter if they are in.

I wouldn't mind one or preferably both being in the game. That's about it. I love Kitana, but I don't mind if she's not in this game if one those characters above takes a spot.

Honestly, i'm open for a lot of characters. I just hope this cast is really diverse.

1) Johnny Cage- He was my main in MK9, he's too awesome to not be in MKX, and I want to see him interact with Cassie.

2) Sonya- She was my 2nd main in MK9, and I want to see her interact with Cassie.

3) Tanya- She has too much potential to not be in this game; she has always intrigued me-- more so her character than her fighting abilities.

4) Mileena- I want to see her in the story, mainly about the Outworld ruler situation.

5) Reiko- I like his story and overall game-play. I hope they give him a big/slightly big role in the story, maybe trying to claim the Outworld throne?

6) Kenshi- The variation system could work well for all of the abilities he has, and we need some Earthrealm warriors!

7) Ermac- I like his story, and they never got to it in MK9, so I hope they do in this game.

8) Kitana- I want her for the story. I'm hoping Quan Chi will use her against Liu Kang, since he has her soul. I also want her for Ermac's story (of course after she is released from Quan Chi's control, if there's a way).

9) Liu Kang- I could care less about his game-play (I hope they change my mind if he's in MKX). Like most of these characters, I want him for story purposes: mainly for him to turn against Raiden, and some other stuff related to that.

10) Bo' Rai Cho- I know they can make him a more serious character--if he is in the game-- and I hope they do. But I probably wouldn't be bummed about his absence at all.


We can probably establish by now that I'm into the story a lot. The story is a big part of the game for me. I can't wait until April to play as probably most of these characters on my list!

1. Tanya - I just loved how in MK4, she looked like a good guy, had a good guy's story, and acted like a good guy, but when you got to know her, she was one of most inherently evil characters in the game. I'd really like to see that elaborated on in MKX.

2. Rain - I'm just a huge fan of water elementals, and I think he got shafted out of the last game. I'd like to see his role as an Edenian demi-god used a little more.

3. Reiko - He's practically a blank slate as of now, so I really want to see what they can do with him.

4. Havik - With a civil war happening in Outworld, I get the feeling that the cleric of chaos will have his work cut out for him!

5. Tremor - If there was ever a time for him to make a proper debut, I think this would be it.

6. Mileena - I really liked the direction they took with her in the last game, and I want to see how that carries over into the new game. Does she still want the Edenian throne? Does she want Outworld's throne? What about her thing with Baraka?

7. Frost - As a Lin Kuei, I had this crazy idea that she too might have been cyber-ized due to Sub-Zero not being around to intervene. I'd just really like to see a female cyborg.

8. Sareena - Since she wound up on the cutting room floor in two games, and she didn't really get to do anything in Armageddon except be present, I think its about time that Sareena got her time in the spotlight.

9. Shinnok - I want him back, and I want him to finally become the big bad that he was meant to be. She pretty much got the shaft in MK4, and once again, was only present in Armageddon.

10. Liu Kang - I think everyone has this idea that he's going to come back scarred and charred, and be bitter and vengeful against Raiden. Its actually something that I'd like to see played out. I can see him challenging Raiden for his role as Earth's protector god, kicking his ass, and becoming a really cool fire-god. I mean...why not? It would be the coolest thing he's done since his debut.

1. Kitana - My favorite MK female in the series in gameplay, storyline, and design. What a shame , how she was handled in the reboot. She was supposed to be a badass, that could get things done by herself and didn't have to be told about her past.

2. Sonya Blade - I've always liked Sonya. She is the embodiment of a tough hard as nails , MK female. She was older in Deadly Alliance around her late 30. I would be great to see her in action as a older lady still fighting as a playable character.

3. Cyrax - I'll always consider Cyrax the best new MK character in MK3. Outstanding back story ( sadly all gone thanks to time travel) and his moveset with bombs, teleportation , and nets made him , one of my all time favorites. He sucked in MK Deadly Alliance, but was amazing in MK (2011). I would like to see him again.

4. Shang Tsung - The classic bad guy who always serves himself, even though he may be working with someone else. In addition, his morphing is so classic.

5. Mileena - I wish NRS would make a real character out of her , instead of her having that stupid sex clown personality, she has had ever since Mortal Kombat Deception.

I can't take her seriously as a character anymore. The retelling of her origin story (birth during MK 2) made it even worse. I want to like Mileena, but I can't take her seriously dressed like a sex clown and acts like a child and or a teenager. I know she is insane, but come on, give her some substance. This whole, I want to replace my sister has gotten OLD.

6. Jade - Like many characters, I didn't like her personally in MK (2011), but loved her moveset. Like Mileena, I would like her to break away from Kitana a bit. Also, I hope she is far less cocky in the future.

In MK, I don't like blind followers, like she was in MK (2011). I hope she is more of an individual, in terms of what she wants in future MKs , if she appears in one again.

7. Frost - Her story hasn't gone anywhere in three MK games, if you count MK Deception Unchained. I used to be a huge fan , but she was just wasted potential in the original timeline. She was one of those characters I had high hopes for , but ended up as a one shot character, with no real purpose. She needs a storyline far more than I want to leader of a clan. Her ambitions , need to be have some weight in the MK universe.

8. Fujin - I was never a huge fan of this character. Heck, he was beaten even by the older Sub-Zero. After MK ( 2011) made me dislike Raiden so much, I hope he dies in MKX and Fujin takes his place. His wind powers could make for interesting game play.

9. Sindel - I've always liked her. "The Bride Of Frankenstein " angel was great. She was the real queen of MK that could fight and was an older woman. That was something rare in games even today. I would have liked to take take on the role as someone who started over in terms rebuilding Endenia and finally give some back sight into king Jerrod friends and enemies. Damn this reboot time travel.

10. Sareena. - One of the best under used characters in the series. She has ties to not only two Sub-Zero's, but also Quan Chi and Shinnok. . I would like for her to become a series mainstay, like she should have a long time ago. She is the perfect female anti hero , just like the younger Sub-Zero. What a waste of a outstanding character.

All these threads about the 3D era characters, and the Taven/Daegon thread, motivated me to post this thread. Just which characters of those not expected to return, do you want back?

As for who's expected to return, well, pretty much all of the confirmed returning characters save for Goro, and you can add Kitana, Liu Kang, Shang Tsung, Kung Lao, Jax and Noob Saibot to that list. I'd add Sonya and Johnny if it wasn't for Cassie's presence making either's return uncertain. After all these, maybe Mileena, Baraka, Reptile, Sektor, Cyrax, Kenshi, Shao Kahn and Shinnok (only because of MK9's story mode ending).

That leaves everyone else.

I don't think many people are expecting li mei and hotaru. I'm pretty certain that li mei will make the main roster. I'm not as certain about Hotaru, but I think he very well could and will at the least be dlc.

Havik has a pretty strong fanbase, but I think that his presence in the main roster would be quite unexpected.

BTW Sindel798, are you really sure that Li Mei will make the final cut?

As much as people like Li Mei, I don't see her returning.

I'm not that big of a fan of Havik but I see him having a chance to return only because he made a presence in some characters' arcade endings. Yeah, always take arcade endings with a grain of salt until the release of the next game to see what came true and what didn't. But one never knows with those kinds of endings and such.

I'd like to see Frost and Hotaru return.

How are they unexpecting?

With Frost, you already have Sub-Zero. And people are already pissing out the whole, "You can't have two ice wielding characters the same game. They'll play totally alike and you can't do anything different with them," bullshit. Yeah, how many fire wielders do we have in this series? Thought so. I've stated numerous times how she could fit (kinda not going to repeat myself, if you really want to hear what I have to say, find episode five with the Netherkast), so she CAN work if they're going to throw her in this game.

Hotaru, I just thought he was best Deception new guy they brought into the series and it's a shame that he didn't get that much attention... Up until the intro to Armageddon. What he did to Li Mei, I think I've repeated that part like ten times in a row. He's an interesting character. He's not technically evil, but he's not good either (dir neutral) but he CAN be either or depending how they write him. He once was fighting against the Tarkatan army, then he found himself allying with him. They can do a lot of interesting takes with this character.



But to be perfectly honest, I really don't see either of them returning.

I'm positive li mei will. She fits right into the story. She is one the most popular 3D characters. Also, when boon was asked if she would h said li mei or li mei not. When asked if she would appear in MK9, he flat out said no. So I think that's something. I would be shocked if she wasn't in.

Hotaru should return even if it just amounts to a cameo.

I'm all for Hotaru appearing in MKX.

From the 3D era I would take: Bo' Rai Cho, Havik, Hotaru, Kenshi, Frost, Sareena, Daegon, Dairou. Didn't include Drahmin because he's out.
