Someone explain this to me. I really would like to know how she "replaced" Mileena. And if the words "sais" and "purple" are brought up at any time, your argument is automatically null and void.

Agreed.

Li Mei, JUST like Tanya, was NEVER a clone.

People actually considered Tanya a Kitana clone ONLY because she took her place in Mk4. I mean .Tanya was 100% original in special moves, fatalities (hmmm, ok, not the kiss, but it was better then the other versions of kitana), and story!

Tanya was amazing, she had nothing that made you think about kitana.

Li Mei was never a clone. She had her own original story, was by no means related to Mileena or Kitana, and she had her own set of moves and fatalities (well, she had Sonya’s cartwell kicks but oh well)

Im so glad they added Li Mei and Mileena in the same game, people finally saw that she was no clone.

I can fill that in, queve. That's Unknown, a hidden character in Tekken Tag Tournament. Nobody knows who she is, but she may be connected to Jin somehow. She DOES look like Jun, but no one is sure what she is. All that is known is that she's connected to Jin somehow.

Actually, she's not connected to anybody. The only reason she exists is because Namco wanted a quick boss for Tekken Tag Tournament but didn't want to reuse any of the previous bosses so they just whipped her up real fast, gave her absolutely no backstory, and that's pretty much it. I do like her look though and pictures on the Japanese version of the official site (which is where the ones in the sig come from) rock; so much like Namco, I just made something up real fast. tongue

I played Tekken Tag like 37 hours straight to see all the endings(my friend's memory card wasn't working) and saw all the endings and there was one were Jun became like Unknown, I'm not sure it's her or Jins....I think it's Unknown.

Well, I want to chip in on this:
I love Li Mei as a character. I have grown very bored with the modern MK girls. Sure, they may be classic, but ditching Sonya in MKII was a wise thing (netting us the very original Kitana and Mileena to take her place), but as the series progressed, the female characters pretty much stopped "evolving" after MKIII. Sonya was still chasing Kano and the Black Dragon in MK:DA, Kitana was still Princess of Edenia with her mom, Sindel, who, now that she's not evil, is just another good girl who can do no wrong. Jade was interesting in MKIII (will she betray her friend per Shao Kahn's orders or betray her emperor?), and still was a bit in MK:D. Mileena is still pretty interesting, but the whole Kitana-clone thing kinda died out in MKIII (and officially died out when Mileena was killed... how exactly DID she come back again?) Sheeva... well, an ugly, Goro-knock-off was never a good start. I thought Nitara was pretty cool and was a bit disappointed that her and her race were more prominent in MK:D. Tanya was a one-trick pony, too, who was interesting with her betrayal, but one her side was chosen, she became stale, to me. Ashrah... well, while she may be one of the better fighting characters, I thought her story was weak and too independent (and, no matter what, she looks like a female Raiden, however unintentional.) That brings me to my two favorite female fighters in the MK universe:
Kira- a yin to Sonya's yang. Hot and sexy, but not overtly so. She's rough and tough, like Sonya, but she's a very neutral character, like Scorpion, and pretty unreliable. Will she turn on Kabal? Will she join forces with someone else? Will she remain a 'lackey'? Is she good or bad if Kabal is officially "good"? I don't like how she stole some of Kano and Sonya's moves, but at the same time, that makes her the best of both worlds.
Li Mei- good or evil? What will she be in the next game? Will the taint of her soul be cleansed, or will she "turn" into something else? What of her connection to the DK? If her ending is remotely candid, will we have little DKs running around? Anyway, I thought she was much improved, looked sexier (not sluttier), fought better, had more substance than half the characters (even more than Scorpion, IMO), and had an ending so open she could be anywhere on the map in the next MK game. I like her a lot, and I will continue to use her till my thumbs fall off.

Fatality.

Li Mei IS the only woman who as a good storyline. All of the other female are boring, like Kitiana, since shoa kahn is dead, she don't really have a good story much like scorpion ( Edlder god champion???).

The ones who needs to go?
-Hotaru
-Darrius
-Dairou

what a waste...

So that's what happened to my topic. I was wondering where it went, I thought it might of gotten deleted. After three weeks of posting it I finally happen to stumble on it and I haven't even gotten to read any of the replys. LOL!! I only go to the MKD board, I never go to the others but today I decided to check them out for the first time. Well I guess I know now where to look if another of my topics should disappear. Why was it moved here? I thought the general discussion board was to talk about anything not related to MK. I don't see how it fits here, I think it belongs in the MKD board where I posted it. Well, whatever!

Now on to Li Mei, I still think she is a useless character. Yes she's better in MKD but it's not much of an improvement. How many people even like her? In MKDA only about 10% of the fans liked her, in MKD only 11% like her, that still isn't much. She really hasn't added much to the story and her storyline was boring to begin with. I think they should of put Kitana in Li Mei's place instead. Kitana should of been the one who got her soul transfered to the dead soldier. Li Mei should of died. Kitana turning evil would of had a greater impact on the story. Hey they had Sonya find Kenshi wounded in MKDA, but in MKD it turned out that it was Sub-Zero who found him, so why can't they have Li Mei and Kitana switch places? Kitana is much better than Li Mei and she has a larger fan base. Li Mei is just trash, just a clone, she's always been a clone and still is. First she copys Mileena now she copys Bo Rai Cho. If they bring her back in MK7 maybe she'll be copying Scorpion with Hapkido. All she is a clone, even during the production of MKD she was still a clone. First she had Havik's morning star, then she had Kitana's fans, then Scorpion's sword, at the end she ended up with Bo Rai Cho's mi zong. Kill Li Mei already, put Kitana in her place or someone better.

Oh no...I must Li Mei HAS indeed improved.

First off, people have been criticizing her cause of her fighting skills. Her fighting skills are great. Honestly, I started playing with Kabal alot because I thought his fighting was quick and would swift through his opponent like it was nothing but Li Mei completely astonished me. She is extremely quick and her combos are terrific. I very rarely do combos with characters (since I just dont do good with them) but I constantly use combos when playing with Li Mei.

As for her ending, her ending was terrific. It couldn't have ended any better. Li Mei has indeed improved and you all are blind if u can't see that. I can't believe some of u could honestly say she hasn't
