I would love to see all of the Mk4 fighters comeback such as Jarek, Fujin, Kai, and even more fighters. If in MK deception, Tanya was made into a great improvement, then what makes you think that the other fighters from mk4 can not be improved as well............Forget the pat and remember how many improvements can be done to the past.........

I wouldn't mind seeing some MK4 characters come back.

I don't really care about Kai or Fujin, but they could be revamped into something better. Fujin could definitly play an interesting role in the story with Raiden going dark.

I like Tanya, hope she sticks around. They just need to utilize her potential properly.

I could see Shinnok coming back. Like Fujin, he could play an interesting role with Raiden going dark and the One Being emerging as a threat. If they made him more like he was in Mythologies, then he'd be pretty cool.

I've always liked Reiko and would like him back, ideally connected to Sareena like he was originally meant to be, and with little-to-nothing to do with Shao Kahn.
But I'm not going to get my hopes up on that happening.

I'm all for second chances, but I see no point in bringing Jarek back. If he comes back....why not just bring back Kano? If they want to replace Kano....why not just continue developing Kira? If they completely revamp him so he's nothing like Kano...why not just create a whole new character?

MKD Tanya is horrible storyline wise. They didn't even bothered to change anything about the past mistake of making her betray anything moving or living. Hell she would probably betrya her chair if she had the chance.
She would have had potential, but Midway messed her up again, this time big time!

FRom MK4 the only character i would really like to be rewamped is Fujin, but I don't think Reiko, Jarek, or Kai would make it into MK7. Besides, MKD had far superior newcomers but even they were horribly disfigured storyli-ne wise.

I didn't like how most of the Newcomers to MK4 were left out. IN fact, all but Quan Chi were left out of MK:DA.

I think Reiko, Fujin and Kai should all return. i think they have a lot of potential storyline wise, and their only story so far in MK4, means that they we know enough about them for them to return, but also so little that they can develop well (hope that makes sense). (Also, i have included these three characters in My MK7 story which u can read by clicking on the link in my sig tonguetonguetongue)

I DO NOT think Jarek or Tanya should ever return again. I was willing to give Tanya a second chance, which she got, but she was a serious let down. Her story was basically the same as MK4. No development whatsoever. She made up some ground in that she was had fairly decent fighting styles, but it's not enough for me. She had her chance, and failed. Sorry. As for Jarek, well he was very poor in the first place, the poorest of all the new characters to MK4. He was a Kano rip off, and served his purpose of filling in the final spot on the select screen.

I was also disappointed by the choices of the new MK:DA characters which returned in Deception. Li Mei did redeem herself, but Bo'Rai Cho was jsut the same really. And Kenshi was a let down for me. his story was bland. they could have done much more with the likes of Nitara and Drahmin (and even Hsu Hao...plus Mavado and Frost who i dont like).

I'm all for Fujin. Dude was a combo and rush down whore. Story wise he can be easily integrated, too.

I would love to see Kai make a comeback. With caperoia as one of his styles, and a Shaolin style, plus the machete, I think he would work very well in the recent 3 style fighting system. Plus, along with Stryker and Mavado, he is, imo, MK's most underrated character.

Although I found Fujin boring, I would give him another chance. A character using wind powers has a lot of potential, and with more unique moves, he could be a great comeback. I have a soft spot for Jarek I must admit, and he was a very strong character. But he is a Kano clone, no need for him back unless they really do a LOT of work.

Aside from them and Quan Chi, the others can be left to rot. Tanya proved she was unworthy of a comeback. Shinnok is just a watered down Shang Tsung with nothing unique. Reiko is one of the worst characters of the series, has nothing going for him but controversy about the Kahn/Reiko thing. Even the MK team hate him.

If kabal plans to still wants to go with his black dragon group which is with kobra and kira, then Jarek would kill in for the group, with kabal.

Meh, I think Jarek should just stay dead.

I liked the idea of Fujin. Originally he was going to be in MKD, but due to an outcry from the "fans" about Raiden not being in, they shuffled in Raiden instead of Fujin. Kai can return too, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure about Reiko though.

Anyway, I think all we can do about the roster is guessing. When Deception was in the works, I remember how reputable people gave assurance about a new vampire a Shokan, Sektor and Jax. But eventually none of them made the cut.

While this is a character discussion, I'd also like to point out that it would actually be more pleasing to see the game engine shored up and playtested properly rather than seeing character X make the roster. What good is having your favourite character in the game, if the game itself is broken?

IF Jarek ever makes it back (like I said, I kinda like him, and he's superior to Kobra in every way), I'd rather see him as a kind of anti hero than back as a Black Dragon thug.

He was willing to put aside his differences with the Special Forces briefly to help protect Earth. Since they turned Kabal from ex criminal vigilante to leader of the boring new Black Dragon, I wouldn't mind seeing Jarek inherit the plot from Kabal's MK3 ending, abandonong his life of crime to become a kind of lone avenger. If Jarek ever does return (and it's a huge "if") he definetely needs his own moves, I think grappling and/or hard hitting styles would work best for him.

I've never played Mk4, but I know quite a bit about it.
Yeah, Jarek is a Kano-rip and to top it off, he actually nicked Kano's eye lazer Fatality!
Kano doing this Death Move makes sense; he actually has cybernetic eyes... But, Jarek, a normal, flesh & blood man, with no enhancements, is able to project lazer beams from his eyes... Yeah, right!
Atleast, from what I heard, he has this Fatality. I hope he doesn't, because if he does, that is monumentally lame.
Please, say he doesn't?wow

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
*Darth Vader style*

Now, THAT is lame!!!!!!!!wow

I mean, ripping off Kano's "Sonya wants to kill me story" is bearable.
Ripping Kano's moves off is just shoddy... But, But... Ripping off Kano's Eye Lazer Finisher and giving it to a Character that completely doesn't fit with it, is the downright most dumb thing in Mortal Kombat, since Reptile turned into a Gorilla(That was just harmless fun, though)
That's like giving Liu Kang, Scorpion's Toasty Skull, Or like giving Kira, Kano's Cannonball(Oh, wait. That happened.)

I am going to drive into Midway Headquarters in a Tank(complete with an Iron Kano head) and do laps in the car park playing dodgems!
furious

Nahhhhh! I'm only joking Midway! I forgive you... Just... Just... Don't do it again!tongue

FRom all the mortal kombat 4 characters, the possible oones that might come back are......

> Fujin ( would make great story character, defiantly in mk7)
> Kai ( From the look of it, he might fit into mk7)
> Jarek ( Took some of kanos abilities, but can be given his own abiltites in future mk games...)
> Tanya ( If she was improved in mk:deception then she could be improved even more)
> Reiko ( Maybe, but could be enhanced into better fighter! )
