I want Matt Groening to come work as a designer for MK. Since he designed Homer Simpson. Since Homer drinks a lot and ain't so bright, he's been popular for more than 20 years and still is. He is so much better than many other cartoon chars since it was not nerdy designed.

And Seth McFarlane's family guy characters would be great too. Or at least Seth should be hired by NRS since Stewie's a baby but so vulgar and wants to kill his mother and dominate the world. He's so much more badass than those nerds video game characters.

Since Homer is so popular and Stewie really that vulgar, my opinions are kind of facts, so this would make MK much better. But wait a second, i'm now wondering what parts of what i'm really saying are facts and which ones are just my 2 cents. Nevermind, i just plain don't get it sometimes.

I think what I was trying to say went clear the fuck over your head. These talented people you feel like insulting by calling nerds (you're making requests for a video game on a fan made website, welcome to nerdom idiot) have to put these costumes on 3d models made of polygon's, not anorexic women. Even if they came to Netherrealm with a design and Netherrealm used it, it would not be translated 100% into the game.

IceBaby and DistraughtOverlord also made some extremely valid points. Which even without me weighing in deflated your argument immediately (Haven't read their posts yet, I suggest you do, they're well worth the read). Fan's want continuity, they want the culture of the Intellectual Properties they enjoy to stay intact. Mortal Kombat is a game made by over a 100 highly creative people at this point. People who have a right to say what goes into the game and each has something to bring to the table.

And besides, I could never see in a thousand years Ed Boon wasting any part of his budget on outside help that knows nothing about what it takes to bring one of these video games to life. These video games cost more to produce then a major summer blockbuster. Netherrealm strives to make designs that resonate with gamers and will stand the test of time. Fashions come and go, and those fashion designers do not work cheap.

As i like some Mangas, screw the Professional fashion designers. I'd prefer having the guys who used to work on the Sailor Moon series to inspire stuff for MK in terms of look.

Sailor Moon was a striking little blonde, Sonya is the only one at the moment, with lots of powers. And the violence and outfits for that series were all really flashy but classy. And the sailor scouts are all dressed up like school girls in uniform but there's nothing too nerdy with designing a cartoon compared to a video game. Nothing trashy at all. NRS should really think about hiring some of them guys.

Yan know, hanky, I've come to think that you don't even read 80% of posts directed at you unless they sound good from the beginning. Well, that's your problem ere.

We sit and give you hundreds of reasons why you ideas are bad. And yet, you just keep enforcing them like they work well with MK.

Well, even though you won't read it, I'll give you the reasons why top fashion designers would never, E-E-E-E-E-E-E-EVER, be good in MK.


1. MK has no relation to fashion.
Fashion is a set of trends that only last so long. It's inconsistent to what it was 20 years ago. MK has had a pretty consistent, ORIENTAL, look for 20 years and is still going strong.

2. The look relating to character models.
See, if you put Kitana in a long, flowing dress, there's much less movement allowed and it would get too much in the way during kombat. No woman in the right mind would purposely wear that to battle when you could be in form-fitting spandex, whether it adds sexuality or not, it works well to the character.

3. Hair styles SUCK TO ANIMATE.
Ask any animator. OR any sprite artist. They can tell you that hair is the worst thing in designing anything digitally. It's so hard to get hair to flow evenly. Every single strand of hair has to be set evenly. Every one of the thousands. And what is big in fashion? Hairstyles. The hair has to compliment the outfit. What happens when you get a crazy hairstyle that has to be placed into a game? It sucks to develop.

4. Opposites don't always attract.
Fashion designers make outfits that are supposed to look good at awards shows and runways. NRS designs costumes to look battle-ready and epic for a good fight. Those don't correlate well in any way.

Hum, but it's a fact that blue eyes are way more striking and sexier than blonde hair Icebaby. And in all these fashion shows, the only thing that really stands out if you put nine blondes and a brunette, is the brunette. 10 blondes? Nothing particurlarly great, even though they might all be beautiful. 10 Brunettes? Immediately one always stands out, or 2 or3 to everyone watching even if they're not experts in the fashion clothes.

Europeans aren't all that great at fashion designing only because the media say so. They become big when they have the means 2. And pay the right people. Hankypanky, sorry but you're the only one that thinks putting fashion in MK is a good idea. We're on page two of telling you why your ideas simply won't work. Not only have you once insulted the developers of this game once by calling them nerds. But now you're insulting the intelligence of the country that most of them hail from.

MK for the first time in years is being recognized world wide as a serious contender in the fighting game genre. And while we appreciate all opinions from all people, your idea was too radical of a departure for the series and would alienate it's fans. All the things you want changed are some of the many things that we all love in this game.

What makes fashion designers so great at first isn't a proof of anything. No serious studies were ever done. Celebrities and models are simply paid to wear them. As medias are paid to interview a celebrity paid to say Gucci, Victoria Secrets or even Pepsi Rocks.

Make me one of the most seen faces in the media, and all of a sudden i'll be asked from a lot of companies to promote their stuff. Sure i'd wear their shit if i was getting celebrities paychecks to wear them.

I would love for NRS to try and hire Angela Gossow. A striking blonde from Swedish metal band Arch Enemy. Think she was going to write a book about females in rock music and also THINK that she made some of her own clothes herself. I could be wrong about that. I should re-check this. But one thing is for sure, she's really creative! And one of metal's most influent women. She's a real class act!

Dynamic Weather is the one thing MK could certainly benefit from. Especially with MK10 which will no doubt be on next-gen consoles. And with next-gen focusing on making games more believable I think that's something MK should definitely try to incorporate.

I agree. And it would be just in time as well, if they decide to include the stage where you were fighting in the rain in MK4 (yeah, actually forgot the name of that one).

Another valid suggestion was Online Practice Mode.

Injustice has one and MK could sure use one. It is basically a guarantee at this point but still. Couldn't hurt.

The Matchmaking suggestion could work, if there was actual ranks. But they don't have ranks in MK, just points. So if they were to continue using points they could have you fight players based around similar point rankings. So that is another valid suggestion.

And I don't know why people are acting like MK has great costumes. They're shit okay? I'm not saying they should wear designer clothes because that is a terrible idea. But MK has horrible sense when it comes to character appearance. Some costumes are great but some are just terrible. All the women's clothing is trash. So I thing SOMETHING should be done about that, but not turn them into fashionistas. Just give them clothes that don't have them totally exposed and represent their character.

You know, I got stepped on whenever I mentioned how disappointed with the costumes I was in this past MK. People would always go to the extreme side of the arguement. I stated I would prefer the women wearing more clothing, and people would post pictures of people in potato sacks asking if that was enough clothing. Well, no, but how about Kitana in MKDA? Tanya in MKD? Kira? To me, the character design, whether costume, or even personality, were excellent in the MKDA and MKD era, and really started to move the character designs forward. Then came MK 2011. Basically when it came to females, all we were given in this were bikinis with loincloths and we were supposed to swallow it as excellence in design. It wasn't. It was character destroyed by the concept of eye candy. And as a writer, a creator of characters of my own, that is heartbreaking to see.

And don't get me started on the over-use of the Scorpion motif on our favorite yellow ninja spectre.

It doesn't need to be a "fashion show". But intricate design coupled with character that fits the atmosphere would be nice.
