I'm not really a Kitana fan in particular. I'm an MK fan. I don't do this crap that so many others around do of fanboying for particular characters. I love them all in their own individual ways.

As for not being what was promised, I do not recall NRS saying this would be a game of all new characters, I recall them saying we would be seeing new characters and possibly more new characters than any other MK game prior to this, but nothing suggesting we would be getting some 100% new MK :) If anything MKX could be the stepping stone to lead into a game where we see less returnees, going from a game with just about all the fan favorites, to a game with practically none wouldn't be a good idea IMO, I think a balance of old and new is the best route to take and I think that is what they are doing.

As for outgrowing the Trilogy era, I don't have much to say about it. I love those characters, but I understand people are tired of the same people over and over and want something new. You have to remember though that the Trilogy era consists of some of the series most iconic and flagship characters, not many fighting games just leave out the fan favorites.

How many Street fighter games don't have Ryu, Ken, or Chun-Li in them? Nobody seems to have a problem with them returning for every SF game.
