The game looks pretty good, but it is not as 'Gritty' as I was hoping it would be.

Sindel will almost certainly be in THIS game. She's kinda the central plot device of MK3 and MK3 is definitely going to be covered given Nightwolf, Sektor, and some of the city stages like the rooftop and bridge I think I saw?

As far as Liu, as I said earlier, this trailer seems specifically designed to show off characters who WEREN'T in MK vs DCU. (Except Subbie 'cause you gotta have either him or Scorpion in promotional material)

I like it. I've been drawing MK characters and my intention when I got to Cage's MK2 costume was to draw his belt like the waistband of a boxer's trunks, with his name across the front almost exactly like that.

I wish I'd thought of having his first name tattooed across his chest too though. That's fucking brilliant.

-dances- Yay, I'm excited. Kung Lao and Mileena are <3 Just sucks I have to wait til next year though. -.- But glad to see that things are looking back on track with the franchise. I think the game trailer plus that Rebirth clip is making this week the best one MK fans have had in a while. XD

Just a little food for thought...

A lot of games have been coming out in the spring lately...so I wouldn't be surprised if MK came out in Q1 ir Q2 of next year instead of the usual Fall/Winter release. So don't jump to conclusions just yet. Either way, we are gonna be in for a great game if it's gonna use all that exrta time to make it better.

Okay, so its great and all. Characters look good, gameplay looks goods and we'll see more of that next week, but isnt this just Trilogy remodeled?

Trilogy was essentially just MK3's plot with past characters and stages added.

The voice actor casting sheet that leaked had plot points from MK1, 2, AND 3 in the character descriptions, like "Jax is a Special Forces blah blah blah, later in the story he'll upgrade to bionic arms". Implying that the story mode for this game will literally retell everything all the way from the island tournament to the invasion.

Is that bad?

It's kinda too early to judge what the story is behind this, but id hold off on judging it until it's been talked about a bit more than just a short teaser trailer.

IMO it would be fantastic if they are retelling the story of MK1-MK3(Most people's favorite era of MK) to tie up all the loose ends and make everything fit together in one nice neat package. Besides, that would also mean we are getting the awesome classic characters and clearly they will all be getting a ton of attention given the time given to the MK Team is much greater this time.

Well thats good in a sense. If they are keeping all the same characters, they can restart telling the story and hopefully not make such a mess. They could also include, say, one new character every DLC pack or something to progress a little bit more.

If Quan Chi isn't in the actual game itself, which depends if it will in fact be strictly MK1-3, I would bet money that he's a shoe-in for DLC. Which is a wonderful thought...DLC. : ) So we can have even more beloved characters.

Technically, if Quan Chi WERE to appear, there's a good reason for it. In the original games, he was responsible for essentially creating and manipulating Scorpion into going after both Sub-Zeros AND he helped Shang resurrect Sindel.

Looking very good so far, hope we see more of the dark grittiness Boon promised at the E3. But got to ask, does anyone else besides me think this is not going too be a full-fledged disc based game, but a down-load on PSN and XBL instead?
