About Me

"Is it so important that you win one last argument with him?" "No, it is not, but it is true that I will miss the arguments; they were, finally, all that we had."

Since backstory and 'filling in the gaps' of history seems to be big with Midway, now, I had wondered: how would fans go for a prequel fighting game depicting the events of the tournament during the time of the Great Kung Lao? We'd get to see his rise and fall from power, Goro's introduction into the storyline...basically, everything that happened during the two tournaments that the GKL participated in that built up to the first game. I'm thinking, if the date that the first game came out is considered the date that the tournament in the game was held on, that the GKL fought in the tournament around the late 1400's; right around the Rennaissance, so it would be interesting to see what kind of fighters and technologies would be present at the tournament.

It'd be cool to see something like that.

And at the risk of getting flamed, I'd like to see Siro and Taja and other Conquest characters show up.

I don't think they should make a game on that, I would rather an animated movie be made that tells the history of the tournament. It could show us how the tournament was started, who the champions were and what who they had to fight to achieve their title, how the tournament was corrupted by Outworld, the redemption of the tournament by Kung Lao, Kung Lao's fall, Goro's reign of terror, and the new hope in the new tournament.
