Amazing trailer, awful music. The opening theme was great, but as soon as the lyrics come in I just sigh...

Speaking of music, I would love the classic music type to come back.

I loved the music. Of course the people who don't prefer that type of music wouldn't agree with it for the trailer though.

I am a huge hip-hop fan so I don't hate it as much as others, im just not a wiz fan, or I haven't been since the first Cabin Fever, after that mixtape he fell off IMO

I liked it actually. MK people must not be Hip Hop/Rap fans.
Is the song terrible? No.
Does it fit with the MK atmosphere? Not that much.

It doesn't fit at all. In a game filled with sorcerers and martial artists, ninjas and assassins, cyborgs and gods etc. Hip Hop doesn't fit in the slightest. Maybe Eminem could have fit, with the right song...but his stuff sounds different altogether than your typical Hip Hop/Rap. Regardless of your taste in music, it just doesn't mesh.

First of all, right off the bat, the first thing we hear is that stupid "uh"(the sounds of a sexual climax) that 90% of rap songs have to have in them.

Just...doesn't seem fitting. I also don't care for heavy metal or dub step for the most part, I prefer the stuff they were doing in MK1-4. Hell, Immortal by Adema was a much better fit at least.

The beginning beat up until the lyrics was good though. It fit the atmosphere until then. So maybe the song without the lyrics would have been a nicer alternative.

To each their own though.

It is surprising to me that people can legitimately picture having old 90's video game tones fit in MKX. It would be silly.

I find it kind of silly that the music disenchanted people so much from the trailer. Did you see Sub-Zero suck in those snowflakes during his EX Iceball?

Brotha Lynch Hung, Tech N9ne, Em, Ganksta N-I-P , Prozak, and X-Raided (If he wasn't serving 30 to life) are just a few hip-hop artists that could have all made a good ass song for the trailer, only problem is they don't have the mainstream appeal Wiz has.

I was PRAYING that they would make sub zero have a similar style in exectuing his ice ball in actual gameplay. But alas he throw's it with 1 hand (half the time) and the ice ball looks like a Mario Spikey:

I don't listen to much hip-hop, but it seems like RZA would be the man for the job.

I personally love the one handed Iceball. Looks way more stylish than the standard 2 handed Iceball. What made the Iceball in the trailer cool was that they really focused on the Iceball, like the lighting got dark and we seen him charge that Iceball.

My only gripe about his EX Iceball is that it's too fast. He should charge that fucker and then unleash it.

Charging makes sense with things like Shinku Hadoken or whatever, because what you're getting out of it is a fireball that does way more damage. The problem is that Sub's freeze attacks never deal any actual damage. He can't really freeze you any harder, so a super ice ball that has charging frames on start-up would be kinda impractical.

Unless his EX ice ball is an ice grenade. That could work.

The deposition of ice (the vapor surrounding his hands and body) is a good look too.
