Historically, MK always had huge difficulties to let itself be taken seriously. The main reason was the huge number of bad jokes.

MK X gave a lot of credibility to the franchise, but skins like these, or theBrazil pack really take it all away.

Even more cereal is Shinnok throwing a temper tantrum in the Gensing Chamber. And don't even think about forgetting "Having Tea with Sub-Zero."

There's a still a shit ton of old school nods to MK's past. Hell they even made a Ninja Mime costume!

At least that looks like some effort went into it, and had an actual nod to a character point. (Although saying that, I'm fed up of the Ninja Mime references now, He did make other films too.)

These costumes are, like them or not, still confusing. What's worse is because they aren't proving very popular, that might very well make Cassie & Jacquie even less liked alongside, which i feel is a shame because i really don't see anything wrong with those two characters at all. Obviously some people don't like them, and those people are entitled to have their favourites and least favourites, but this will probably tarnish their reputations for no good reason. I mean, its just skin packs.

Idk, it just seems very random, like it came out of nowhere. At least if it was Kitana and Mileena we could've been like "oh well, they were called the female counterparts of SZ and Scorpion"...

I didn't like these costumes on the ninjas and I don't like them on anyone else. But, it really doesn't matter. It's just stuff I won't use that other people might. Nothing wrong with it at all.

In Silent Hill 2 you found a gun in a convenience store.
Or in Resident Evil 2 you found a bazooka in a laboratory with licing plants.
In Twin Peaks there were dream sequences with midgets dancing and singing.

Just because there are some less dramatic/comic relief scenes, doewn't mean a product isn't serious. I was talking about the general atmosphere.
In MK X you could find some stupid Fatality, but not a Babality of Friendship.


Ps: the flower pot Fatality of Kung Lao is gruesome and awesome, there is nothing ironic with it.

I really like these skins and think they're fun, and like somebody else said, if anyone in MKX was going to Cosplay, it would be Cassie and Jacui. So these costumes fit, IMO.

I thought Jacqui wearing scorpions colors was a reference to the shirai ryu, because her and Takeda are in a relationship she probably assocoates herself with the clan.
I think the skins are fine. Iits not the route i wouldve went, but one of the better decisions made by nrs imo when compared to some other decisions they've been making.
