Wow. Some of you care a little bit too much about what is essentially a simple bonus skin pack.

I really don't mind it. Anybody here played SFvT? They had costume packs that gave the Tekken guys SF costumes and vice-versa. It was fun.

Considering the MK3 mesh already exists, it's not that complicated to resize it for Cassie's model.

My only problem here is... if they went through the trouble of texturing and developing a costume based on MK1.... give it to the other ninjas?

I really wish people would stop trying to trivialize other people's complaints. And nobody here is freaking about it. Mostly just people think it sucks or it makes no sense. I personally feel like it's a wasted opportunity.

Those SFxT costume swaps were stupid. Out of all of those costumes the King/Alex one was the only one I liked.

There are decent complaints and there are ridiculous complaints.

We know every new character is getting a third costume, aswell as Red Steel Ermac.

You want to complain about how XL doesn't seem to have every costume despite what it claims , that pre-order costumes for a complete edition is ridiculous and that Gold Scorpion is nowhere to be found? Go right ahead. All legit complaints.

You want to complain about a pre-order bonus that was obviously done for fun and because it was simple? That's ridiculous.

Probably because people (not directed at anyone in particular) seem to complain about every little thing. It's almost like all the online MK community does is complain. Like I have said though, everyone has the right to do that and they should if they feel strongly about a certain thing but I have already seen people bitch about Cyber Sub-Zero being a thing in this game...that's right. A fourth, previously unknown variation that comes at no extra price of a regular DLC character is given to Triborg purchasers and people find a way to bitch and complain about it...its just a little frustrating sometimes to see people constantly complain about stuff like that. I can only imagine how Boon and NRS feel, id want to troll this damn community myself with the way it acts a lot of the time lol

People would not be complaining if there would not be reason. MKXL trailer MULTIPLE TIMES claimed that it's "complete", "every skin, xray, fatality, nut punch" blablabla

and then there is pre order bonus. This is plain retardness -.-

It's a complete double standard. People can like something no matter how small or minuscule but if you complain about something, no matter what it is, people have a problem with it. You don't see me getting on somebody for liking the costumes.

I complain because the cosplay pack is stupid, even for a funny reference.
And is out of character because, you know, Cassie and Jacqui are not ninjas.

What about giving those costumes to fitting characters?

What about classic ninja outfit for Takeda? Old school Shirai Ryu.

Oh, wait what about w ninja outfit to Tremor, who actually is a ninja?

Yeah, that's the reason why I'm complaining, and it's not stupid at all.

I guess you're right.

There's so much good stuff coming out recently (CSZ, every new guys getting a costume, Pit fatality, etc). Wish we could focus on the awesomeness that KP2 will bring instead of focusing on such an unimportant part of the game.

But you're trying to make sense of a non-canon DLC pack. None of the packs make sense. Sonya isn't a russian soldier. Johnny Cage doesn't play soccer. Kung Lao is not a gaucho. Shinnok is not a samurai. Reptile is not the monster from the black lagoon. Jacqui is not a ninja.

I was considering buying Triborg and maybe Bo, but at this point until NRS/WB releases a complete list of what is and is not included in this pack I am not buying anything.

I am not preordering, and if I lose out on something because I did not preorder I will not buy a damn thing.

They may or may not miss my twenty bucks, but I'm currently not missing MKX so it goes both ways.

If they were going to do the subzero and scorpion costume cross over thing. Then they should have given them to kitana and mileena... With them always comparing the 4 and all.... At least then it wouldve made a little more sense...

Although out of context, almost all the other costumes make sense.
Samurai Shinnok is explainable: MK lore is based on the japan/china/eastern nations, so they chose characters that would fit. Btw, the original concept of Shinnok for MK mythologies depict him as an evil Shogun/Damyo.

Sonya is not a russian, but it's still a soldier. Maybe she was in a mission in Russia and she disguised as a female russian soldier.

The Brazil pack was already included in the stupid/ out of character/ unnecessary costume pack, so I don't get why you're talking about it.

Here's the thing though, COSTUMES DON'T HAVE TO MAKE ANY SENSE.

It's dress up. Make believe. You can give a character a completely wacky skin for the fun of it and it doesn't matter because it doesn't affect anything. If suspension of disbelief is so important to you then you're playing the wrong game.

You speak as you were the only holder of truth.
It matters to me. There were several other interesting ideas, like steet clothes, training outfits, high uniform, etc that fit better to Cassie and Jacqui

I don't even see how your point addresses any of his. Sure you can think of ideas you would like more. Anyone could think of something slightly better in their opinion.

But these aren't a big deal

The mesh for the ninja costumes already exists. Resize and reshape it and you already have most of the work done. Sub in one color for another and you can crank out a ton of ninja outfits for any character quickly. These are hardly the most time intensive skins. I doubt you could have made 1 costume in the time it took to make these 2 (and we've seen footage of like 4 or 5 different colors).

As to why it's Cassie and jacqui? Well although mileena and Kitana are more iconic, both have plenty of skins especially compared to jacqui and cassie. Also, it seems as though NRS may be trying to make cassie and jacqui more central and giving them free skins related to the most popular characters could get more people to try them.

As to the idea of a pre-order for a complete edition, we just don't have the facts yet. These skins could easily be just as exclusive as the kold war scorp which was released for free but at a later date. Honestly my biggest complaint with ko2/mkxl is the lack of clarity when it comes to what skins will be coming and what we have to do to get them. Its the only reason I have yet to preorder.

So, we're going from "the coslay pack is not to be taken seriously, is just funny reference" to "NRS is lazy, just recycle Scorp and Subby costumes and adapt it o their anatomy".

The whole idea of two american girls dressing as ninjas is stupid beyond recognition.
If it is a joke, then it's not funny.
If is serious, then it failed.
If it is recycled, then Midway days are back.

There is nothing good to make of it.

I disagree. I did not mean that it was at all "NRS is lazy". I was addressing the points raised by others that in their opinion it may be pulling development time from something else.

I think that, like mortal kombat I'm general, it is exactly as serious as you make it. You can view it as cassie and jacqui just dressing up for Halloween as the characters from their parents stories, uou can view it as just for fun, or you can view it as "stupid beyond recognition" if you have already decided to refuse to "recognise" it as something some people may enjoy even if you dont.

It is recycled. So is the pit, every classic costume, every classic fatality, every skin similar to mk9 or a previous game. Its almost as if people enjoy seeing the things they liked before used in new ways. If reusing stuff is a problem, then we should just abandon every mk character and use only guests and new characters. In fact, fuck fighting games. They always have similar mechanics and we can't reuse stuff because "then Midway days are back" and we can't have that.

No, cosplay packs are no "funny" or anything. This is WB using their last opportunity for preorder bait. Of course many people won`t care just because of poor quality or nonsense of these skins, but there are many people who love to always have complete content for their games, and these people are WB`s "prey". This is pure $$ gain for WB in laziest way possible. I mean Cassie is just main protagonist of MKX, she does not need additional skins fitting her personality, right? Right??

Let`s wait for Special Forces pack for ninjas.

And let`s not forget that MKXL is complete edition with preorder bonus, which is masterful level of greediness, not mentioning lying to consumers` faces.

And what about that "emo" detail again with Cassie's hair sticking out.

You see, NRS a bunch of emo ́s

I still don't see how WB/NRS producing skins, even ones you may not like, and then releasing them with a way to get them free is preying upon people.

And you completely ignored my point when I said that we don't know how and when these skins will be available. Maybe you can only get them by preordering and I agree that would suck. Maybe they are sold separately for a price which would also suck. Maybe they are released for free later which would still provide an incentive but not an exclusive one.

I actually like the cosplay skins and you don't get to tell me I cant. Jacqui and cassie ARE getting other skins.

But ultimately I don't give a shit if you never touch a MK game ever again. If you don't like it, rage on the internet all you like and vote with your wallet. No one will be too disappointed with not having your money as opposed to any number of people who appreciate little unexpected things like these skins.

Have a nice day, preferably somewhere else.

@Create_Account - you really think pre order bonuses are free? XDDDDDDD WB milked this game on every occasion. Goro as preorder bonus, lame zero effort skins as preorder bonus for complete edition (lmao). Hell, even now MKX on PSN costs 49,99$ when abandonware MKX on steam costs 54,99$ (jesus ckin christ) And I don`t believe we will get those cosplay skins for free, not in this universe. And i can`t comprehend how those crappy skins can be likeable by someone. I thought there would not be crappies skin pack than brazil, and i was wrong.

The only bad skin in the Brazil pack is Capoerai Liu Kang. Soccer Johnny Cage looks great and Gaucho Kung Lao is hilarious. Liu Kang just looks like a poor man's Eddy Gordo.

1. They could easily be free. Think not? Tell that to everyone who got the "exclusive" kold war scorpion.
2.Goro being paid sucks. I agree. But he is now being bundled with kp2 and mkxl for no extra charge. Not totally free but not as monetized as you claim.
3. I'm not even sure what point you are trying to make by listing the prices of mkx?
4.I lIke the skins because I like cassie and jacqui and I'll enjoy any new way to use and enjoy these characters. I actually think the idea of ninja outfits is cute and brings in some of the Asian influence that mkx was lacking.
5. Brazil pack sucks. I agree there.
6. I think you may have hit upon the ultimate issue. YOU can't comprehend why people like these skins because YOU refuse to see them from other people's perspectives. I don't have a problem with any of the people on this thread who at least recognize that some people like this stuff even if it isn't their cup of tea. Whereas you seem to actively try to ignore or insult anyone who voices anything other than criticism.
