I don't see whats bad about the select screen atm but I would like it more if instead of the snow forest all the time they had different stages as the background.

I really doubt they are just gonna make stuff up on their stream. It could easily be Sub who is in an alt because his main would reveal who he is or some other situation.

Nah, I think some of the characters are definitely in their alts, in fact me and a few other people assumed that from the get go a while back about Sub-Zero. Scorpion is a safe bet that he is in is Primary, as well as Raiden... the rest though can very easily be in their alts.

It's not that outlandish, really. Alt's might even be auto unlocked from the beginning this time around.

It's also possible that something started off as a primary but they've moved it to being an alt. Especially since in their last two games alts have had story significance.

Well that's one of the grandest things about life- the freedom to believe whatever you like. I just doubt it's true.

There has ALWAYS been alts for MK ever since MK4 (sans MKDC). It's very reasonable that they have decided to switch some of the shown primary costumes with alts so that things will look fresh.

I think it's more story-spoilerish related than anything. For example, Kung's and Kitana's primary outfits could be them as undead under Quan's control. But hey, maybe one has one with a tin-foil hat. :P

Hell yeah, one of the most interesting parts of the stream. Hope they show that arena off more in upcoming streams/videos so we can see who is coming out of the portal in the centre. Awesome stage.

I agree with this. That stage in and of itself points to some very interesting aspects to the story mode. Hopefully the Outworld Civil War will be an important era for the narrative and we can really get a sense of how that realm exists in day to day activities. Interesting how they didn't talk about this stage at all considering it is new...

It also makes you wonder how stages will be affected by the jumping timeline. Will they become different over time? Will they just have different arenas for the different timelines (if so that means that there could be a lot of stages).

That portal made me wonder if there might be a stage fatality here. Get knocked into the portal, get mauled by some Outworld wildlife perhaps?

Ermac did mention that Shao's soul is a part of his collective so that makes me wonder if maybe Shao is the dominate soul within Ermac now. Could be very interesting...

Please, no. Out of all the characters in the Trilogy era, Shao is the one that needs to take a backseat for a while, let some other villains shine. He's always the same song and dance anyways and it's gotten stale in comparison to the likes of Kotal, Mileena, Shinnok....hell I'd even argue Quan Chi.

Kitana is an alternate, I think.

Her hairstyle and puffy shorts are too "cute" for a main Kitana costume.

Anyway, I am so glad MKX will have alternate costumes!!!!!!! Alternate kostumes are konfirmed, it seems!
