Cool, im curious to see how he came back, he must have come back soon after his "death" in MK9 to be so old now.

As long as he plays good and MKX is a blast, just being real about it, I can probably make myself overlook the whole "surprise I'm back to life" thing. Story factors in a lot. . . But face it, its mostly about how much fun you have playing the game. That said tho I'm not diggin the costume.

I'm worried about the direction NRS is going with the arenas. First the Outworld Marketplace now this Special Forces base stage(Don't get me wrong I am Special Forces) But they look like Street Fighter stages with people watching with 2 or 3 animations.

This is a tough one.

I love Kung Lao, second only to Sub Zero as to my favorite character in the series. I was among those THOROUGHLY PISSED to see Kung Lao die so early and in the manner that he did in MK9, so if there was anyone out of those who died in the previous game that deserves a second shot of returning in MKX, it's Kung Lao. I know he'll be badass, and if these variations that were being described are true, he's going to be epic. As far as gameplay goes, I have no doubt he'll be amazing.

HOWEVER...

What I thought NRS would finally do in "making the dead stay dead" in this alternate timeline went out the window for me. Yes, I know, no one really does stay dead in MK, but I just was hoping that they'd finally go in that direction this time around (sans Scorpion obviously). Anyhow, this also adds alot of questions that if Kung Lao is returning to MK9 (as a playable character), who else from MK9 that died will too? And who will be cut from MK4-on from being playable in this game?

Of course, there is also the question of if this really is the Kung Lao of MK9 or perhaps the "Great Kung Lao"? Shujinko (highly, HIGHLY doubt it)?

And finally, if this is indeed Kung Lao of MK9, since he died in the previous game, where is his allegiance now? Does he remain in Quan Chi's control throughout the 25 years, or has he broken free at some point during that time?

Man... It's like they're having an MKDA reunion game. I'll laugh my ass off if the next character revealed is either Shsng Tsung, Jax, Kitana or Cyrax.

As for this reveal, I'll need to reserve judgment until I see more. His outfit looks similar to his past iterations, the saw hat is okay. I really like that they aged him, but hopefully he's not nearly as Caucasian as he appears.

Nice reveal, and I'm happy for KL fans, but not I'm not personally hyped about it, and this comes from someone that really enjoyed him in MK9. Hoping we get something new on the 2nd.

Don't like the facial hair, but hey other than that I'm fuckin' happy. The details on his different play styles are great, especially the controlled hat.

Without Kiling the Great Lao there could not have been an MK1 or Mythologies, as Shang got the location of the temples of elements from him.

The whole arcade ending CANNOT make sense, as Raiden explicitly states that Mythologies happened (looking at Bi Hans remains), and that cannot have happened without Quan and Shang making their first deal.

Meh never was a fan of him. I was hoping they would reveal a returning female or someone new. The last reveals have been so one note. So much for the new direction they were taking the game.

So the 2 january reveal is a new character and not Kung Lao? Hm.. i think it could be him and don't expect a new fighter.

I don't understand his Variations. I Need a gameplay Video to see it in Action.And i really miss a Goro gameplay Video... Maybe in the next Nethercast they Show us the new fighters.

At least he looks something like a legit Asian Wuxia hero, instead of the inferior western imagination came up with last time.


I kinda like it. The MK2 first and the MKDA primary were so far the best, but this is legit functionally beautiful.

I think Kung Lao looks pretty good. He shouldn't have been killed off in MK 2011's story to begin with, and I hope he has more of a story this time around. Also, with him being older, I would hope that he's matured in terms of his personality. Gameplay-wise, he sounds fun but very tricky to use. It is a bit surprising to see one of the heroes return from the dead in the next game like this though it would be nice if there was some kind of price to pay for him being restored. It would be nice if the series would finally implement some sort of cost for bringing someone back from the dead.

Cool. I'm little surprised to see Kung Lao making a comeback, but I'm not upset by it at all. He was a strong character for me in MK9, and a lot of fun to play as.

I like his aged appearance as well, although there's just something about his face that vaguely reminds me of Deathstroke for some reason...

Overall, though, he looks solid. Can't wait for a proper reveal trailer!

Was surprised to see Kung Lao making an appearance again, but it's welcome. I was hoping to see an entirely new character, but Kung Lao is the Shaolin Monk character I'd prefer back over Liu Kang or Kai by far. This guy has scarcely gotten a chance at development without being killed off every five minutes. With any luck, we'll see him more as the kind of front runner he was in Deadly Alliance here.

Going to agree with Chrome on this: I like the redesign. Seems more in line with his character than some previous iterations, with a stronger Chinese influence.

On one hand I liked Kung Laso's new look.

On the other, it means that any of the killed characters are fare game right now and this is not so great. I hoped that for once, killed characters will stay killed, but nope.

MKX totally shapes to be MKDA 2.0.

Besides Quan Chi and Raiden (because is seniority, of cors), all the revealed character are nonsense to the potential story MK9's ending leave open. There is one importante question, and all the details are ambiguos: how the fuck Kotal Kahn becames Outworld's head of State? Where the fuck is Mileena? Where is Shinnok? This thrilled me. Kano, Kung Lao, Goro (To me, Goro is ambiguous. I love Goro, is refreshing... and the comic send us a good sing about her importance. But nothing relevant, I suppose) ... meh.

Sure, he looks great. But there is some important information we really want to know.

Hope tomorrow's reveal will be different. Hopefully, Mileena :)
