I am most looking foqard to Rain, because he could make a good character to team with Tanya, or Reiko.
Fujin- Very likely, best chance out of the four. Many people feel he should be given another chance, and with Raiden going crazy, he will fill a very important role as the good god.
Stryker- 50/50, sadly. He's near the top of my wish list, but most other players hate him. But never say never, his name appeared in the MKD opening screen, and the almost as unpopular Nightwolf and Tanya made it back.
Rain- Again, 50/50. He does have a fanbase, but many people (me included) are indifferent to him, seeing him as just a pallete swap too far. But they did revamp other pallete swaps, so he could surprise us.
Reiko- Unless they do another MKT style big mix, I think this guy will be left to rot. Him and Kintaro are the ONLY characters Midway staff have openly admitted that they don't like, and it's them who decide the rosters.

out of ninjas, cyborg thugs, evil ninja robots, martial artists, martial artists with sharp hats, princesses, bodyguards with more than 4 limbs, undead movie stars, native american shamans, evil emporrers, gods and secret service agents, you say Stryker didn't fit in MK3?
I mean, really, Edenia just had a fucking WAR with Shao Kahn. Edenia's Royal Ninja must have something to do in that situation.
For example, assassinate Shao Kahn, since war didn't work. Or, bring Goro back to their cause, using his mind-control orb to help convince him, if necessary. Or, simply, to tie up everyone else while Edenia's forces make a hasty retreat. Or, perhaps, to punish Noob Saibot for totally ruining the War.
Then again, considering that MK7 is going to have four characters, two of them are Liu Kang and Kung Lao, and the first hidden character is Sub-Zero, I don't think this will be as much for fleshing out fresher characters as adding detail to classic ones.

Fujin: 80% chance. If Rayden doesn turn evil, as was suggested in MK:D, Fujin will most likely have to step in and fight on the side of Earth.
Stryker: 20% chance. He does have a following, but more people thought he was a less than stellar character.
Reiko: 5% chance. I can't honestly see them ever bringing him back.
Rain: 60% chance. He has a much larger following than Stryker, and with the makeover the MK team gave to Ermac, it's not at all out of the realm of possibility that they could do the same for Rain.
I think it's about time for Rain to make a return.

What do you mean they JUST had a war with Shao Kahn? That war took place during the post MK4/pre MKDA timeline...Also, what do you mean by Edenia's royal ninja having the need to do something in that situation? First of all, Rain was a ninja for Shao Kahn and chose to side with him or be destroyed by Kahn's extermination squads.
Rain's Mind Control Orb doesn't work that way. When he shoots out the Mind Control Orb and it hits the opponent, he uses his mind to move his opponent's body. He doesn't control their minds with that attack. Noob Saibot didn't totally ruin the war. He badly injured Goro who was saved by Shao Kahn.
Regarding the stuff you said about MK7, you're seriously mistaken. You are referring to Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks which is NOT MK7.
Anyway, I think that out of the 4 characters mentioned in the topic name, Fujin would be the most likely to return with the way Raiden's storyline is as someone had mentioned earlier.
Rain is a character who I feel has quite a bit of potential and I would like to see him again. Maybe they are going to bring him back in a future MK game. You never know...
I like Reiko though from the looks of it, he probably won't be returning. if he does, it won't be anytime in the near future, that's for sure.
As for Stryker, I don't like the character at all and I think he shouldn't be in another MK game.

Fujin is my favourite out of them and seems to have the biggest chance. He was probably my fav in MK4. He has an obvious way to get into the story RAIDEN! but I'd like to see the mk team top that and make that part of the reason he has returned.
Rain is a bit of a mystery to me. I have played as him I really liked his lightning attack but they gave it to Nightwolf in MKD. I don't know much of his story or origins. I'd like to see him fully changed (look) like they did to the Ninjas in MKD. I'd like to see him in.
Reiko was ok a little weird. He could return if it was done right.
Stryker has so much potential he has been hated by many but could make it.

personally, I think he should side with Kitana to stay true to a great storyline instead of keeping him evil for the sake of keeping a large bad guy roster with crappy stories. who knows... maybe even give him a romance with Jade
give him weather orientated moves like lightning and slip puddles and a roundhouse kick where lightning strikes them in air and teleports them on the other side of you.
just throwing around ideas here, but maybe give him a spear called 'weather vane'. he seems like more of a spear guy than a sword guy anyway

Rain : Get rid of the standard ninja costume. Dress him up in a robe, with a collar that covers the bottom of his face, get him purple hair and white eyes, and play up on the water powers. More of a sorcerer.
Reiko : Give him long white hair up in a gene simmons pony tail on top of his head, make him more buff, and out fit him in a more barbaric outfit. Kinda like he is truly wanting to be the next shao khan.
Fujin : Make him older, wiser, and on par with raiden, not just his protege.
Striker : Shave his head, give hime a cigar, get rid of the hat, have him wair a bullet proof vest with no shirt under it, and black and gray cammo pants. Think the punisher.
I think returning characters are a good thing, but some of them need reinvented. The concepts were good, but really take them to the next level.
If they return , then here is what they need to do.

I love your idea for reinventing Sryker. He is one of my favourite characters in MK, but his biggest problem was his look. Stryker badly needs to look more like a maverick cop, a survivor, rather than a man wearing an ugly shirt that looks like an unwanted Christmas present from his granny. I'd keep the hat though, that does fit in with his riot cop/SWAT theme.
If Reiko EVER makes it back, there should be NOTHING AT ALL to connect or even suggest any link to Shao Kahn. This was a big part of what destroyed him as a character, the bullshit arguments caused by a stupid ending have even lost him credibility with the MK creators, and has most likely ruined him beyond repair.

Fujin and Stryker were both rumoured to be in MK:D. I liked Fujin in MK4, and I dont see why he hasnt returned. He is said to be protector of Earth, so should be there, since Rayden was always around when he was Earth's Protector. With Rayden's story as it is now, there is mroe possibility for Fujin's return. I also think Rayden should sit out the next game and Fujin be given a chance.
As for Stryker, well although he is generally disliked, he has a fanbase. I believe every character deserves a second chance. So far there hasnt been anything in the games or that has been said, that goes against Stryker coming back. He is alive in MK:D's Konquest etc and hasnt been killed in anyone canon storylines. Also his anf Fujin's names appeared in the clouds in MK:D, perhaps thats a small hint of things to come.
I dont think Rain and Reiko have much chance of returning.
Both characters could have slotted nicely into both MK:DA and MK:D......more so that Fujin and Stryker could. But they weren't included.
Rain has a relatively large fan base, so I think if they were going to use him again, they would have done it by now. Also, Rain's UMK3/MKT ending had him go on a suicide mission I beleive, Although we dont know if this is true or happened. This kinda hints toward his death, as does Jade killing him in MK:D's Konquest mode. And ok, Death doesnt mean much in MK, but perhaps hints toward his death mean he wont return. I personally dont want to see Rain abck. He was one pallette swap too many for me, but anyone can be good if given the right story.
Reiko is hated by the MK team, so I doubt they will try and bring him back. Which is a shame. Also, a lot of fans dont like him due to the whole MK4 ending thing, and the Shao Kahn stuff. I like Reiko, and believe he has potential. If he does come back, he could go in many directions. Lots of people say they want him unconnected to Kahn, but I believe thats where most of his story potential lies. Also he was rumoured to be allies with Sareena, Kia and Jataaka. theres possibility there too.

Stryker
1. Stryker should have a totally revamped look. He should look less like a New York cop and more like an elite S.W.A.T. team member. He should look kinda like "Bayman" in his alternate from DOA3, except Stryker should look less muscular and have some sort of black mask covering his face. He should have an assault rifle strapped on his back, some gernades strapped to his right thigh and a taser gun strapped to his left thigh. He should also have some combat boots.
Kinda like this...

2. Stryker needs a new move set...
First move: Stryker's first move should be like Jax's gun move in MK:DA except Stryker should hold and point the gun more professionally.
Second move: Stryker should be able to pull out his taser gun and electrocute his opponent like in his MK3 fatality except it wouldn't kill his opponent. It should work kinda like Scorpion's spear except instead of pulling in his opponent it would electrocute and leave them stunned for a while. It would also have a long range.
Third move: Stryker's third move should be like his original bomb throw in MK3, except it would have two versions. The first would be the traditional explosion. The second would be a smoke bomb. Instead of hurting the opponent, the smoke bomb would burst into a puff of smoke and cause the opponent to cough and stumble around, kinda like Noob-Smoke's "stinky cloud" move in MK:Deception. In order for the opponent to be able to tell the bombs apart, the regualr explosion bomb will glow red when it's in the air, while the smoke bomb will glow green while it's in the air.

I still like that idea to this day...
As for the others, I think they'd all make great additions as long as the MK Team doesn't screw up their stories...
I think the chances of having fujin and stryker back are huge, i mean as was said before, they were apart of the MKD select screen.
I think the best theory for the next MK is that RAIDEN will be the next boss of sub boss, his ending in MKD seemed fairly cannon and probly a good way to go with the MK storyline. This gives an opportunity fot fujin to help earths warriors now, and i think stryker will come back because he hasnt been in MK in a while.
My theory is that Raiden will be the next boss, and end up going mental taking over earthrealm much like Kahn did in MK3. I think because there were alot of comparisions with MKD->Mk2, a game loosley based around the theme MK3 had is a must.

Usually my sig would consist of one HA, followed by another, and then ending with a few exclamations at the end, thus making my sig...
HA HA!!
My take on the likelihood of these four making it to MK7.

I really don't care for ANY of those, but Fujin's morphing was pretty cool...

I think Canon says Rain goes on a suicide mission against Shao Kahn, and it is unknown if he returns. I've been wrong before, though.
Also, the war ended, I believe, right before the beginning of MK:DA. MK:D took place right after MK:DA. Which means the war hasn't been over for very long.
About the Shaolin Monks thing, the title said 'in the next game,' which is Shaolin Monks. I realized he meant MK7 later. This one is my mistake.
Badly injuring Goro really ruined the war. I know that Canon states Goro's 'death' caused the Shokan to dive into Chaos. When half of your army dives into chaos, your war is ruined.
Also, nobody's ever really said how the mind control orb works, or even if it's evolved since he's grown stronger. Rain's appeared in three games, and only has a bio in two of them. Neither one mentions how his Orb works. So it may not be a telekinetic thing, it may be usable for influence, or any number of things involving minds and control.
So, according to who started this thread, there WILL be Fujin. If you were referring to someone else's comments, a quote or even a use of their name might make that more clear.
