Yes the heroes were killed, but that was the best thing many of them did in the whole saga.
I like Stryker's characters, but aside of being killed by Sindel, what did he do from 1995 to nowadays?
The only heroes that had some real story were jax, nightwolf , Kitana.

Human Smoke has never been a REAL character before MK 9.
Jade was Kitana with less steroids.
Stryker...he is Stryker, you know?
Cyber sub-zero is self explanatory and won't waste words about him.
Sindel was important only in the arcade intro of MK 3.
Kung Lao was Liu Kang with less steroids.


Killing them actually gave 'em some more character developement.

It's no coincidence that the only Revenant freed from Quan Chi's control were the top three popular characters, Jax, Sub-Zero {human/revenant again) and Scorpion.

Liu Kang and Kitana are likely to be the next big thing of evil.

In MK X we had love and family for the good guys (Johnny and Sonya, Jax and Vera, Jacqui and Takeda) now it is time to see the same coincept twisted in favour of evil (Liu Kang and Kitana, Kano's son, etc).

I really hope they take advantage of evil Liu Kang and Kitana. I actually like what NRS did with them in MKX, except for Kitana's Catwoman costume. I was never a fan of the Liu Kang and Kitana romance before MKX. I would like Sindel and Jade to pop back up as well. We deserve some closure on Jade. Of course by closure I mean Jade is back and not gone for good.

Also, it's okay to have an installment in the series where the bad guys win. MK needs an Empire Strikes Back.

I don`t care about a story at all. At this point, for me there can be random MK chars if they fit in overall concept of given MK installment. They proven many times that they can`t write decent MK story even if they had guns at their heads, so they better focus on gameplay.

We already had two of games where the baddies won: mk deadly aliance and MK(2011).
Some could say that Quan Chi is the sole, real victor of Mk Mythologies as well.

Yeah and remember how once we saw Shinnok at the end of MK9 we all thought it would be MK4 + DA/Deception characters? That didn't happen. We had MK4 for one chapter and it goes completely left field to an Outworld Civil War subplot that's dealt with in 3 chapters. Just so we can cut back to Shinnok for the last 2 chapters to be chumped by Cassie.

All I'm saying is even though they hinted at Dark Liu/Dark Kitana/Dark Raiden I'm not expecting the story to be all about that. They'll find a way to fuck it up like they did with this game.

I like side plots, just as long as they're good sub plots.

If they make Sareena or Li Mei the champion in the next game it would be alright by me. Also I would accept Taven or Takeda. We all know Takeda would be more mature in the next game. He and Jacqui may even be married in the next game. Also he will be the Grandmaster of the Shirai Ryu. I like the idea of him taking over for Scorpion since Hanzo Hasashi may not be playable in the next game. The only reason why I would accept Taven is because he is a true hero unlike his brother Daegon who is a true villian. They could do so many things for Dark Raiden and Shang Tsungs return. I just do not want another reboot. That would piss me off so much. Blaze will be in it we all know that even if it is a cameo which I believe it won't be. He is too valuable. I just think they will come up with a more decent story next time. I just hope they do. The new characters in the next game could be awesome if they have cool powers and other abilities that amaze us. That is my idea of what they could be doing with the next game. I just hope they aren't lazy this time.
