Yes! excellent observation there. I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise. It does appear to be like an easter egg, and I hope that they do end up including several surprises in the game, like a remake of the pit stage. The one on the battle card definitely looks amazing.

I know Ed boon confirmed during the angry joe interview that there will be no level finishers. However, there is speculation about stage brutalities, and there is even a post where they say it was confirmed that stage brutalities are the successor for stage fatality. However, I haven't been able to find an interview to back this up.

The only remaining hope I have for the return of classic fatalities, which would include subzero's spine rip, scorpion's toasty, and stage fatalities with the technological makeover, would be in the form of unlockables or faction kills. Kombast Kast 8 did confirm that there will be multiple faction kills. Perhaps these are the stage fatalities.

As far as classic fatalities, i hope they gave them to other fighters.

Just seems like an art piece. We already had a re-imagining of the MK1 Pit Stage in MK9 so I don' think we're going to get another one this time around.

I really hope we get some updated MK9 Arenas. 12 of the 13 we got are great but will get old fast

I'm already sick of the outworld marketplace and the game isn't even out yet. lol
