If they wanted to use a horror movie character Ash would be a much better fit than either Chucky or the oft-rumored Jason. I am pretty sure the rights to the Evil Dead franchise are owned by Sony though so it's fairly unlikely.

There's really nothing scarier than a doll, especially when you are 5 and have a doll that looks very similar to Chucky, and you just happened to watch Child's Play with your older brothers. Then to afraid to throw the doll away for fear it'll come back at you for being mean to it . . ..

Mkx was revealed at a Sony press conference and mk9 got an exclusive character. It's a few more hoops to jump through sure but it's not an impossible scenario.

The problem with a little evil doll named Chucky, is that it weighs no more then about 12 ounces. Meaning you could field goal kick him across the room before any fatality is necessary.

His model would be to difficult to implement, but as a character it fits just as well as Freddy did.

Imagine the hitboxes on a chunky doll lol.. RAGE!
