In my opinion, the comic roster would have been more interesting. However, I think what would have worked better is to have the two major stories (Netherrealm War and 25 time gap) be split into two whole games in order to have more opportunities for certain characters.

Definitely Comic Roster but replace Forest Fox with Kenshi and I'm good.
