i think mk need to lose the whole beginning legend storyline they got going and do what tekken and soul calibur did and just show each character for like 8 secs doing sweet shit set to awesome Mk music! that would be a better openeing i think then all these prophecies. i'd like to see shang tsung come back as like a soul junkie soul vampire! his old man form maybe alittle more rotting! i'd also love to see sektor and stryker!(hahah i know) but the big 2 that need to come back are definately Kung Lao and Quan Chi. Both so Badass!

Several new characters would be nice to see also.

Characters I definetely want to see in MK7.

Kung Lao- I think either he or Sub Zero should be the main hero. Both should be major players though. It's a crime that he missed out in MKD.
Quan Chi- He was built up to be a major villain, and badass, even in MKD's intro (which he survived). Has to come back for more.
Mavado- One of the most deeply involved, well connected characters in MKDA, has unfinished business with quite a few others.
Sareena- For someone never in a mainstream MK, she's surprisingly well developed. It's time she was in the main series.
Johnny Cage- Like him or not, I think MK is not MK without him, adds a light touch to MK no one else can, but without going too far.
Li Mei- Developed well in MKD, gaining more depth. There's more can be done, and she has that inexperienced persona not much seen in MK.
Sub Zero- Probably more likely to be the main hero than Kung Lao. They've built him up as a main hero, don't waste it now.
Havik- Easily the most interesting of MKD's disappointing newcomers. Too many possibilities for a guy purely out to cause chaos.
Mileena- MKD proved that she didn't need Kitana to be a meaningful character. She has much more going for her now, which can go further.
Reptile- MK's most evolving character, has made his mark in every plotline. Should stay as the MKSM style, lizard creature with humanoid build.
Raiden- I love the Dark Raiden story, it adds freshness to this character, and has a lot of future potential. Plus we can kill off shitty old Shujinko.
Kira- She has the right look, the ruthless attitude, and with unique moves, would make a better Black Dragon than Kabal did in his weak comeback.
Noob (on his own)- Oh come on, we've just found out he was the older Sub Zero all along. He just HAS to return for more.
Ermac- For me, MKD's most pleasant surprise. Evolved from cheap pallete swap to worthy, interesting hero. Could take over Raiden's mentor role.
Kitana- Too important to the MK world not to return. Sindel kinda took her role in MKD as Edenia's main heroine, Kitana needs to take it back.
Jade- Another great MKD comeback, but she should be given her old super speed. I'd like to know more about this cool character.
Stryker- Not much chance, I know. But he's a very unique, underrated character, fighting with weapons rather than magic powers/whatever.
Nitara- One of my favourite characters in MKDA, and there were hints she'd be back for more. I'd like to see much more done with her vampire powers.
Kai- A very underrated fighter, and one I am convinced will work better in the 3 style system, with his caperoia, gurkha knife, and a Shaolin style.
Hotaru- A very good concept, let down by awkward styles, and little staying power. I'd like to see him given another shot with more suitable styles.

These guys, plus four new playable characters, and a new boss. I think less newcomers will mean more chance of them being better, more developed, rather than fillers like Kobra and Dairou.

Here is the list of characters I'd like to see and some brief stories.

Starting Characters:

Liu Kang - He's back from the dead, with The One Being as his new threat,
along with the return of Kahn.
Kung Lao - He should reform the White Lotus Society and help Liu along.
Kai - What ever happened to him? Should rejoin the WLS with Liu and
Kung.
Sonya - Her and Jax have to get back to the OIA and join the cause to stop
Kahn and The One Being.
Jax - See above.
Kenshi - What is the fate of Kenshi? Will he ever find his way from Outworld
Cyrax - Comes back from Outworld to see everybody dead or missing, so
he leaves the OIA and journeys on his own.
Sindel - She wants to stop Kahn, for payback of happened during MK3.
Kitana - Helps her mother to stop Kahn.
Jade - Helps Kitana and Sindel along.
Rain - What ever happened to him? I'd like to see him return to his home
realm and fight for good.
Bo' Rai Cho - Leads the Outworld forces against Kahn now.
Ermac - Helps Liu in stopping The One Being.
Raiden - What is the fate of Raiden? I can see him slowly becoming evil...
Fujin - The wind god needs to return and help Raiden stay good.

Unlockable

Baraka - Back to Kahn's side after the defeat of the DK.
Dairou - Wants revenge on Darrius for killing his family.
Darrius - Has taken over Orderrealm and wants Dairou assassinated.
Kabal - Has refounded the BD. I think his ending should've happened and
he killed Havik after he ressurected Kahn's clone. I see Kano
returning...
Kira - She killed Kobra (thumbs up!) and I'd like to see her return. Needs
her own moves though.
Kano - Can see him ressurected by Kabal.
Nitara - She was an interesting addition to MK. I'd like to see her and the
race of vampires make an appearence.
Noob Saibot - He killed Sub-Zero and has taken over the Lin Keui to reform
it too it's old ways.
Sareena - Follows under Noob with the death of Sub-Zero.
Smoke - He is split on what to do... He feels a need to serve Noob, but also
wants freedom.
Li Mei - Her soul has been tainted by the Dragon King and now her ultimate
goal is to free the One Being.
Reptile - He has lost all his memories from being controlled by the DK.
What will happen to him?
Scorpion - With the defeat of the DK, a new threat is The One Being.
Sektor - His plans for the Tekunin are growing, soon Japan will be his...

Super Unlockables

Goro - He has sided with Shao Kahn and wants Kintaro's flesh.
Kintaro - He has helped Reiko claim the throne of Outworld after Kahn let
him down in MK2.
Reiko - The new ruler of Outworld.
Shao Kahn - Wants the throne to Outworld back from Reiko.
Shao Kahn's Clone - Also wants the throne. There is no knowledge of him.

Boss

The One Being - Maybe. Should he come next game?

I won't get much into their story lines, but here goes.

Well the normal playables would be:

17.Scorpion-MAYBE, and thats a big maybe, because Scorpion is getting a little old to me, and the fact that I like him and don't want to see him be burnt out by Midway's overuse of him, I would rather have Smoke with the spear this time around.
