I didn't even wanted Fujin...but I would happily take him over anyone from KP2!

WB is shoving these unwanted guest characters down our throat when they know exactly what we want (actual MK characters). I'm pretty sure Ed and the rest of NRS were shaking their heads when WB higher up assholes were like no, fuck MK characters, you're going to include Leatherface and Alien. So stop blaming Netherrealm, they are working under WB.

Wb is gonna fire them?

Yeah, I'm sure if their team refuses, Warner Brothers will drop'em like flies.
A LOT of you are nothing but selfish, greedy mongrels who demand, demand, demand. And whine like little children the MOMENT your demands don't get met. I'd rather live on the moon than cry over optional-to-get content.

I remind you that Ed Boon has a permanent job contract.
Plus, Cd Project Red refused to put DRMs on the witcher 2 and 3 and they still had namco distributing the game.
But you american have such a dictatorial vision of the work....
Oh, btw, even if Boon would get fired, how long would it take for him to find another producer?
Or to reach a goal in a kickstarter campaign?

The price isn't the issue.
It's the fact that they knew core fans wanted other characters and were completely ignored in favor of bringing casuals back to the game because casuals can't resist guest characters. The casuals make up 90% of the game's sales. (Not an actual figure but I imagine it's close to that)

But if you think about it, they really didn't ignore anybody. TooCool brought up an excellent point IMO. People wanted more 3D era characters, so they gave us Bo. People wanted a cyborg or the cyborgs so they put in this 3 in 1 cyborg guy, people (likely not the core fans) were clamoring for alien after Predator was confirmed, so they gave Alien, Now for Leatherface idk what inspired that, he was somebody I wasn't expecting at all (but am personally excited about it) but I would assume that with the inclusion of Freddy in 9 and Jason in KP1, people asked for more horror characters and since there is a new Leatherface movie coming out and the original actor recently passing away, WB (or somebody else) thought he would be good.
Anyway, I cant agree that they ignored core fans completely when they gave us Bo Rai Cho, and then tried to please us Cyber fans by doing the 3 in 1 thing. It seemed like they tried to please as many as they could by trying to offer something for everybody, including the casual players, IMO.

It's entirely possible. Some people asked for Shang Tsung but of course they wouldn't want to blow the lead on those characters if they have something big planned for them.
With Liu Kang controlling the Netherrealm and Raiden now being on a rampage, earth will need a good god to lead whoever doesn't follow Raiden in his path of destruction.
Fujin it is.

I love Bo and he's the only character in the pack I'll buy. But Fujin was clearly the most requested character by core fans. He was MKX's Martian Manhunter, and they didn't put him in. Why? Because WB is greedy. They shit the bed on this one. There's no excuse for it. When fans give you a clear answer on who they want, you put in that character.
And that's my problem with how they handled this whole thing. Trying to please everyone never fucking works. At the end of the day, someone will be disappointed. Why not disappoint the people who stopped playing MKX weeks after launch? Why piss off the MK faithful who stuck with the game for 8 months?

And so... Do you really believe that there's someone who could make a better mk game than ed boon himself?
Do you know how many copoycat had mk all over the years?
Who else could direct MK?
If WB really didn't have any need of him, they would't hire him in the first place.
Ed Boon is a big name in the industry, he'd easily move on with his career.

How many people here said they hadn't played in months and wanted to know who was in the KP2 to decide if they'd play again?

I thought you meant Ed Boon could just go create a new MK somewhere else. He can go create a new franchise or work for someone else, of course. But it won't be MK and it's wishful thinking to think another company could take the MK franchise and make it better.

Yeah I do agree that Fujin probably should have been in this game, a lot of people wanted him and most of us even thought he was a shoe in for the primary roster when the game was first announced, and I really have no idea why they wouldn't put him in. Its really a mystery to me, I thought he would have a bigger chance than Bo tbh.
And once again I agree, trying to please everybody never works, its an impossible thing to do. Though I guess putting in 2 more guests is a way to redraw in those people who already put the game down.
Ill be completely honest, I thought this pack was only going to have one guest at max. I thought maybe this pack was going to be made for the long term fans that have stuck around, but it seems they had something else in mind.
Luckily for me, I just happen to like all of these guests, so its kind of hard for me to be angry about it. Though I was really pulling for Shang Tsung :/

Not many here because this forum is dead all the time, except of course when there's an uproar like this. But I have seen many people say that KP2 could reignite interest if it had a certain wind god or chaos cleric.

You screwed the quote, but that's exactly what I've meant.
Ed Boon needs Wb exactly as WB needs him.
He has the power to say "No" without being fired.
He is simply too old and lazy to veto every shit WB asks him to do. Or maybe he really likes horror icons, in this case ask permission to make one game with them in it.
4 guests are too much, are illogical.

If there is any chance of us getting more characters, for all we know Rain-Sindel-Baraka-Fujin could still be planned or finished, NOW is the time for them to be straight with us and let us know. No more BS.
If the answer is YES to one or more characters, then that could soften the angry mob this KP2 announcement has caused. It's not just here, everywhere I look online its like 20 to 1 against KP2 choices. If it's NO, then this will just continue and eventually fizzle out at some point.
As of now, I do not plan on supporting KP2 whatsoever. When it hits a deep discount DLC sale, maybe, but not until then if at all.

A lot of people have stopped playing, not just outside of this forum, but in general. Really the only people who are still playing are tournament players or people competing in ESL. As someone who plays competitively but is not a tournament player, I stopped playing a couple months ago. Part of it is because of the horrid netcode, another is because I simply don't have a character that I really want to invest my time into. I thought Shinnok was going to be that character, but his simplistic playstyle really leaves something to be desired, and Fujin was the #1 character I actually wanted, so if he was DLC obviously I would have kept playing the game. Undoubtedly i'm hype for Bo, but I don't know how long i'm going to continue playing after he's out. That's the reason this pack is so confusing, it really doesn't cater to anyone. Casual fans probably won't dust off the game just to buy more DLC, and from what I've seen, most fans are justifiably pissed off.
I wanna give them the benefit of the doubt and say that it was WB that forced Leatherface to be in, but I bet NRS definitely had some influence on the decision. We'll probably never know, but yeah

I have kept on playing because I still have characters like Reptile & Mileena to play along with newcomers like F/T, Kotal and D'Vorah to fully get used to. Then there's Goro to consider and if he ever got a Kintaro skin well then more to consider.
Netcode isn't great but it's not unplayably bad for me (Why on earth would I accept a yellow or red bar?) this announcement might slow me down from playing it though which already wasn't often because of the PS4 being in another room instead of my own.
It's also a major blow to all the hype and interest I had in the game. Tekunin is the only thing in this pack that has me interested right now. Bo is nice and all but nothing really grabs me right now however I'll give him a chance and see what they do with him.
As for the abomination nothing will be done (what could be done won't be done) to get me to play it and no thanks to your cash grab of a horror character.
Maybe the skins will be better but little faith on even that.

Let's remember that New Line Cinema and WB have merged since 2008 and with that we have had NLC properties like Freddy, Jason and now Leatherface.
This has nothing to do with Gunnar passing away, no this is WB saying "Put this into the game" pure and simple.

As much as I would love to believe its in honor of Gunnar Hansen's recent passing, it probably has a lot more to do with the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie " Leatherface " that is currently in production. I don't mind either way though, I like TCM and Leatherface, so getting a chance to play him in my all time favorite game series is a plus for me. Same goes for Freddy, Jason, Predator, and Alien.
