Legal reasons. They're still good buddies from what I understand. Although Saibot has never been fully removed from the games, it's just not in the lifebar and stuff. It's still mentioned in endings and what not.

It is not illegal to spell someone's name backwards and put it on a character without their consent. They could put Saibot in the life bar any time they want.

How are these rumors still alive?
Tobias does not have a beef with Boon or NRS. He was involved in the MK vs DC comic. It's been said by both men, that they are still friends. There are no legal reasons NRS can't use the name Saibot in the name bar(they just don't for whatever stupid reason).
Should this just be put on the front page as a disclaimer or something?

Whatever the reasons it would be nice if Tobias can come back and start wrtiting the story now that they have the media to portray this story much much better than they could have in the early 90's
