We are a clan devoted to destroying, and assasinating the forces of evil. Many, many forces threaten us, but we shall overcome all. Even more, threaten the safety of Earthrealm. It is our job to protect it, at any cost. Obviously, a job such as this requires the most cunning and intelligent of kombatants. Are you up to it? When all hope seems lost, the Lin Kuei will be there. Always remember, we are not ninja. We are Lin Kuei!

How to become Lin Kuei:
To join us, simply post in the thread, and send a pm of your quiz results to Sm0k3. In the event that Sm0k3 is offline, send your completed test to Sub_Zer0. If neither are online, then send it to Sm0k3. Note: Do not post your answers in the thread. We at the Lin Kuei expect the best out of our warriors, and being keen is key.

You must recieve at least 70% on this quiz. We at the Lin Kuei feel that, more so than intelligence, hard work is key. Everyone attempting is given two chances. After correcting the quiz, either Sub_Zer0 or Sm0k3 will post in the thread welcoming you to the Lin Kuei. After which, you must make a post stating your allegiance to the clan. It should include the following things:
1. Your name
2. Why you deserve to be Lin Kuei.
3. Your allegiance to the Lin Kuei.
Always remember, your allegiance to the Lin Kuei, is your oath. If you do not take your oath to heart, then you have nothing.

General Ranks:
Lin Kuei Henchman: All members must start somewhere. This position is temporary. It is simply a test to see if you deserve to be Lin Kuei. If you are a true Lin Kuei, this will be a breeze. There can be an unlimited amount of Lin Kuei Henchmen.
Lin Kuei Warrior: The abundance of you will be in this rank. You are no longer lowly henchmen, you are truly Lin Kuei. Your fighting skills are somewhat weak at this point. You are the body of the Lin Kuei. There can be an unlimited amount of Lin Kuei Warriors.
Lin Kuei Veteran: To make it this far, you must be a devoted member of the Lin Kuei. You must have been fighting alongside us for a while, and proven yourself in battle. You are a decent,to good, fighter at this point. There can only be, up to 10 Lin Kuei Veterans at one time.
Lin Kuei Assasin: To get to this rank, you must be a great warrior, as well as one of the most intelligent beings of Earthrealm. Your battle skills are superior for your time. You are a great fighter at this point. There can only be, up to 5 Lin Kuei Assasins at one time.
Lin Kuei Cycromancer: You must be one bad S.O.B. to have reached this rank. You must be all previously mentioned: devoted, intelligent, cunning, powerful, and creative. You are the best of the best. We look at you to defeat most in Kombat. Your battle skills are amongst the best Earthrealm has to offer. There can only be, up to 3 Lin Kuei Cycromancers at one time.
Lin Kuei Grandmasters: There are only three of these available. Two are already taken by Sm0k3 and Sub_Zer0. One of you will one day reach this most honorable rank. It will take a large amount of time in the Lin Kuei, awesome writing skills, and the ability to always give everything your best. Do not expect to reach this rank any time soon.

Color Ranks:
Color Ranks are one thing that the Lin Kuei has, that no other clan thus far has. Once a given member reaches the rank of "Lin Kuei Veteran", they can choose to partake in the color ranks. The Color Ranks are split into two divisions: Blue and Grey. Each color represents one of our current Grandmasters, Sub_Zer0 (Blue) and Sm0k3 (Grey). The Color Ranks go as follows:
1. Blue Disciple/ Grey Disciple - At this point, you are learning from either Sub_Zer0 or Sm0k3. There can only be up to 10 Disciples, per color.
2. Blue Assasin/ Grey Assasin- You have learned. You officially are a personal warrior. You are a great warrior to be this. There can be 5 Assasins per color.
3. Blue Arch Assasin/ Grey Arch Assasin - To reach this rank, you are amongst the best warriors,as seen by your leader, whether Blue or Grey. You represent your leader in the greatest of ways, do not let him down. There can only be 3 Arch Assasins, per color.
4. Blue Master/ Grey Master - You are second only to your leader himself. When your leader is unable to, you call the shots. You have mastered all of your leader's teachings. You are a true leader of the Lin Kuei. There can only be 2 Masters per color, one of which is taken by Sm0k3 and Sub_Zer0.
You will post up both, your General Rank userbar, and your Color Rank userbar (if you have one). For example:
LinKuei503 is a Veteran in the Lin Kuei General Rank. He is a Grey Assasin as well. He would post both his Veteran userbar, as well as his Grey Assasin Userbar.
The two colors, will annualy be having competions of writing, art, etc. Pick your side wisely.

How to Rank-up:
From Henchmen to Veteran: You must be an active participant in the thread. You must always be open to suggestion, and well mannered. Either be intelligent, or be ready to ask questions.
From Assasin to Crycromancer: You must be all that you have been to get here continously, plus you must excel at what you do. Being a good writer is key. Eventually, you will gain these ranks.
Colors:
There is no set rules to ranking up here. If your leader sees that you have been giving effort, and somewhat excelling, he will rank you up, to what he sees fit.

Jobs:
Jobs are available to anyone above the Lin Kuei Henchman rank. Each member shall get a choice as to which job they would like:
Artist: Perhaps one of the most important and prestigous jobs available to a Lin Kuei member. It is your job to make signatures and/or userbars.
Writer: Your job is to write of past tales of the Lin Kuei. You shall provide us with interesting information. You must be intelligent.
Public Relations Rep: It is your job to deal with other clans. Always be respectful, and, if needed, strong in showing the power of the Lin Kuei.
Over-seer: It is your job to look over other clans, to see if they pose a threat to Earthrealm. This is extremely vital. Without you, there will be no defense for their invasion.

Rules:
1. Being un-loyal as seen as a deadly sin to us of the Lin Kuei. Clan hopping is strictly prohibited! (unless you have been given approval by either Sm0k3 or Sub_Zer0)
2. Do not disrespect follow members. Everyone in the Lin Kuei shall respect their fellow member, or face severe consequences.
3. Anyone spamming, or doing anything harmful to the thread, will be warned, and if persisted, banned.
4. Do not trust those not of The Lin Kuei, unless stored under the "Allies" category. (Even so, always be wary of betrayal)
5. Try to speak as clearly, and read-able as possible. This means good grammar, and at least decent sentence structure.
6. Do not post anything that may contradict a current Mortal Kombat Storyline.

Reasons to Join:
The Lin Kuei are a great way to hone your skills in Kombat. We are assasins. We kill who needs to be killed, however, when it comes down to it, we are devoted to stopping all evil. Fighting alongside your fellow Lin Kuei, is both a fun, and creative experience for anyone.

Missions:
The Lin Kuei are, once in a while, given missions. These missions are usually the assasinations of leaders threatening our clan. Everyone below the rank of Cycromancer, is required to participate in these assignments.
Every once in a while, Sub_Zer0 or Sm0k3 will post a new assignment. In these assignments, each member takes turns writing about a paragraph of this assignment. An example of what could be written is as follows:
Sm0k3: Wow! Sub_Zer0! One is coming straight at you!
*Sub_Zer0 dodges the warrior, and slashes the warrior through the chest with his Kori Blade*
Sub_Zer0: Thanks for the warning Sm0k3!
Sm0k3: *dodging shurikens* No prob!
Please try to follow this format as closely as possible. Put one's actions in either *'s or -'s. If a selected character is speaking, put their name, and then what they said, as well as any actions they may do while speaking in *'s or -'s. Try to write about a paragraph per post. Do not write too much, because that will leave your fellow warriors with few to write. Do not right to little either, because you yourself, are not contributing enough. Take your time on missions. Do not rush any mission, do not finish it too fast. Try to make your paragraph as understandable as possible. Describe your sorroundings, use good grammar, and be as descriptive as possible.

BASIC TRAINING
Greetings you warriors, you will learn the basic techniques of fighting, but before you learn to fight, you need to learn to write.
All writing should be in this form:
Sub_ZER0: State who is talking in this form, with the name followed by a colon.
Sub_ZER0: Feel free to use Nicknames for you and others, I will now be SZ.
SZ: If you perform an action, put them in *'s. *Punches Noob who does not know how to write*
SZ: Most importantly, do not be All-Powerful to start off with...progress your power as time passes. Also, make your additions to the Missions relevant.
That means no MK Characters, No Over-the-Top twists. You can have twists in the Missions, just nothing really extreme, as in a Whole Army being ressurected.
SZ: Another rule, use correct spelling, one or two words wrong would not be bad, but don't write: Hez guna fite hem.
Also use correct Punctuation. Commas and Semicolons are encouraged.
Now, Let's Begin our Lesson.
SZ: Hello new Warriors, I will teach you all how to Fight today.
You will all learn the Lin Kuei form of Martial Arts. It is a combination of Tradition Karate, Shotokan, Tae Kwon Do, and Dragon Techniques.
I will tell you the 10 Basic Moves you All need to Know. If you excel, I will privately teach you more Advanced Moves.
First, The standard Punch. This move is one fluid Motion, no excessive movement, go straight to the Opponant.
*Punches Dummy with Excessive Force*
This machine will tell you the Force you are inflicting on it. Mine reads 542. This is much higher than I expect you to reach.
Desired Force: 100-150
Next Move: Basic Mid-High Kick.
Once again, One fluid motion. Give a good Snap in your leg to maximize force. This is a very effective offensive move.
Desired Force: 275-350
Move 3: Open Palm Stun
This is a very effective when in a Jam. Force is not important, put emphasis on where you locate the hit. When correctly hit, the opponent will recieve a slight stun, enough time for you to turn the tables on him. The desired target point would be a pressure point located right under the Sturnam.
Desired Force: 60-70
Move 4: Shin Kick
This move is effective against Bigger Fighters. A quick, hard kick to the shin will send your opponant to the ground.
Desired Force: 150-250
Move 5: Uppercut
Very, very useful move. Could do anything from Knockout to Kill your opponent. Build momentum from crouched position and unleash it on impact.
Desired Force: 200-300
Move 6: Roundhouse
2nd most powerful Basic move. Gather momentum by spinning and deliever a High Kick to the opponent.
Desired Force: 400-500
Move 7: Back Mid-High Kick
More powerful than regular kick. Impact point should be the Heel of you foot.
Desired Force: 300-375
Move 8: Roundhouse Back Kick
Most Powerful move. Combine the Roundhouse and Back kick to perform this move.
Desired Power: 450-550
Move 9: Knee Strike
Very simple and effective. Deliever a knee to the Torso of your opponent. Will temporarily stun opponent.
Desired Power: 240-290
Move 10: Flying Kick
Tied for 2nd most powerful move. Take a running start, jump, and deliever a Kick to the Chest-Head area of opponent.
Desired Power: 400-500
