Judging from the MKX leaks, I think it's safe to say that the franchise is now dead in the water and the buzzards are circling. We had to wait 4 years for a. supposedly half @$$ed game. Don't get me wrong the game looks great, gameplay seems flawless but the story judging from everything I have read is atrocious and the new characters they are trying so hard to get us to like...are just not likeable at all. meanwhile the icons who aren' t Scorpion are continously sh** all over in every imaginable way.
We waited 4 years for this? a tiny roster with non canonical characters, precious few stages, a shitacular story and new characters that you want to see suffer in the worst possible ways?
I think it's time for NRs and WB to shelve the series entirely and just focus on DC crap since that's what Boon seems more enthusiastic about.

Nope, MK will be fine, there will be another one eventually. Not everyone is going to hate the story like a lot of people here seem to, and not everyone that buys the game are even playing for the story.
Lets keep it real, MK will never die and even if it did it wouldn't stay dead for long, just like its characters

Every MK game has its share of disappointments. Just because MKX fits the mold doesn't mean the series is dead.
Though I do agree that Boon seems more enthusiastic about the DC stuff these days.

People just set the bar way too high. There is nothing wrong with the story. (of what I have seen so far). So okay, a story doesn't go necessarily the way we thought it would, but it's still a nice presentation. Although I would have liked that the chapters weren't divided per character.
The game is fine. Not perfect, but what game is?! So a few of the characters I would 've liked to play aren't in... we got to continue somehow.
The only minus it gets from me now, is that there aren't enough stages... . Partially because they look so great, I wanted more. And that's about is. Maybe also some of their marketing strategies or "lies".
I've seen some more fatality's. Some are "meh", but others are really great.
Everyone that sets the bar realisticly, won't be disappointed! Games get stale after a while. I'm just glad MK isn't a yearly milked franchise yet. And they are not affraid to try new stuff.

It's a fighting game. The gameplay should be its main selling point. Also to the others get over it. Seriously not everyone likes the same thing u do. This person has a right to dislike the game.
