~ Important Announcement ~
Combat Instructions

Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 2nd, I will be delivering very important and detailed instructions on how to react during HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT situations, as well as BASIC FIREARM USAGE. I will put up these instructions at exactly 12:00 PM EST. At the end of these instructions will be a small examination of how well you understood them: I will give one simple request to each of the recruits, and they will respond. Everyone will have until 12:00 AM EST to put up their response.

Here are some questions you may have:

1. Do I HAVE to?
No. You have the option of fufilling your given task for this "class". The instructions are just going to let you know how to be successful when you're on a mission that requires combat, and if you choose to fufill your assigned task, you will only be helping yourself. It is not mandatory, however; again, it's just to help.

2. Can you tell me more about the "exams" at the end of the instructions?
Once I've given the instructions, I will put up a recruit's name, followed by a task relating to the instructions. The recruit will then fuffill the task using what they learned after reading the instructions. These tasks are going to be very simple.

3. Will there be more "instructions" in the future?
Yes. There will be Instruction Days once in a while, depending on whether or not there is something new I think we should know more about for an upcoming mission or competition. Wednesday will be another Instruction Day, only unrelated to combat! Be prepared for that, too, if you really want to delve deep into ultimate success.

4. What do I get for reading the instructions and performing my examination?
You will show that you are interested in becoming a master of hand-to-hand combat and firearm usage. What does this mean? It means your chances to participate in missions that call for combat will skyrocket.

5. I wasn't here to fufill my examination! Can I re-do it?
Most likely not, but I will definitely make exceptions depending on a few things. Just send me a PM if this applies to you.

If any of the recruits have any questions whatsoever, both before and during the Instruction Day, feel free to ask and I will happily help you out!

Hope to see as many of you as possible tomorrow!

I watched as B_C walked out of base, the first to be promoted. "Lucky bastard." I mutter. That's when an Idea sparks into my head. I head out of the base, heading towards Chinatown. INstead of going straight through this wretched place of crime, I decide to take a leisurely stroll around, getting a feel for the place. As I'm walking through one of these side streets, I hear a shrill, blood curtling scream, then another. My pace quickens as I head towards an alley.

Voice 1: Shut up Girl, you're only making this worse on yourself.
Voice 2: Should I gag her?
Voice 3: Yeah, gag her!
Vocie 1: Shut up will yah? I've got it under control.

A tearing sound resounds throughot the street. I finally make the alley, where I see a girl in various forms of unclothment, with two men standing over her as one man is mounting her. "You there! Get off of her, fight someone your own size!" I yell, the most cliche, yet effective thing I could think of. "You don't know who you're messing with buddy." One of the men says. I can tell they're a Black Dragon afilliate gang. They start to advance on me, until they notice the badge. "You're OIA huh?" "Danm right." That's when they converged.

One man swung a right hook at me, which I deftly ducked. A boot came towards my face, which I rolled away from, only to be met in the back by a different boot. I arched my back in pain before kicking my legs outwards, knocking two of them back. I tumbled backwards, missing an elbow from the third man. I picked up a Trash can and threw it straight at one of the men who tried to punch it away, but ended up hurting his hand. I ran up and drop kicked him, his ribs cracking from the shear force. Immedieatly, a boot fills my vision as my face is stomped on. I can feel the blood pouring from my nose, as I grab the man's ankle and twist, the bones cracking, he fell in agony as I caught the third man's punch. My forearm hit elbow, breaking the arm. Using the broken arm, I pulled him into a clothesline. He fellt, blood pooling from his lips. I stomped on his face, before twisting, his blood smearing my sneaker. The man with the broken rips was trying to crawl away, so I picked him up and threw him into the dumpster (not actually inside, just thrown into it, like a wall). He howled in pain as my sneaker met his abdomen. He passed out from the pain. I ran up to the man clutching his ankle, and stepped on his foot. He yelled out in sheer agony. I grabbed his foot. "WHo do you work for?" "Kill me, pig!" I twisted his ankle, his holw reminding me of a wolf. "I said who!" "The Black Dragon! They hired us! They wanted someone from your agency to come so we could finish you off!" I laughed. "Seems like you failed huh?" He noded his head. I dropped his foot, not too lightly. "Pig, I'm going to have you killed." I looked at him with a cold glare. I took a bag of garbage from the dumpster and dropped it on his ankle. "YOU BASTARD!" he yelled. I responded "you mean OIA bastard." before walking away. I hadn't noticed the girl running away from the scene during the fight, but I'm sure the word would spread. We were here, and we were here to stay.

X stares blankly into a white sheet of paper, still the only one occupying the interrogation room.

All of a sudden, the door bursts open. One man is literally flung onto the table, while a more familiar face grins, blood all over his newly pressed uniform. "Bitch is all yours", BC grins as he slams the door, almost suffocating the very room. X's gaze goes from the man sprawled all over the steel table, to the paper, to the man, for a good 2 minutes. Finally, in one fluid motion, X withdraws his .45, cocks it, and blows the unidentified man's brains clear across the room.

"You're under arrest," he mumbles sarcasticly as he steps over the dead man's body, and outside the room for a moment of fresh air.

~ Hand-to-Hand ~
Instructions - Level 1

As an agent, you will leave Headquarters on occasion and deal with threats and predicaments throughout the world and beyond. You will be surrounded by danger and beings who want nothing more, nothing less than your death. If you are unable to defend yourself and get out of tight situations while hanging on to your life, then your career as an OIA Operative will be literally short-lived.

~ HOW TO WRITE ~

As you know, you will be performing in your missions in a 1st-person, fan-fic format. But this is not all you need to know in order to do well in your mission. You must know how to use your creativity and your ability to visualize. Here are two examples of an action you might be inclined to use in a hand-to-hand combat situation:

1. I walk over to him and punch him to death.
2. I walk over to him, fists at the ready and meeting his spiteful glare with defiance. He throws the first punch. I quickly duck and retaliate with an unsuccessful uppercut as he blocks it and sends a knee to my midsection. I grunt in pain, but think fast by grabbing a firm hold of his leg, hurling him over my head, and smashing every one of his bones hard onto the unforgiving ground.

I'm sure you see the difference between the two actions. The first action is vague, shows no interest from its writer and, worse of all, makes the writer seem "all-powerful". We at the Outerworld Investigation Agency are the best this world has to offer, but we are certainly not all-powerful. Even we aren't free from being thrown back by a well-aimed right hook, or knocked on our backs when ganged-up on by countless high-profile criminals. So, when writing a combat scene, visualise it in your mind, then transfer it to the post with as much creativity as you are capable of.

~ TYPES OF ENEMIES ~

When writing a combat scene, you should be aware of what TYPE of enemy you are facing. There are enemies all over existance: there might be one out there who is incredibly powerful and could take on any one of us! BUT there might also be one out there that is hopeless to match our strength and dexterity! How do you know which type of enemy you are fighting?

That's easy to answer. When anyone of you is on a mission, I will be watching you from HQ via satellite. I will be able to communicate to you what is happening, as well as give my input to help you along your mission. I will let you know beforehand whether a certain enemy you might face is an easy kill and can be taken care of without a problem, or if he/she looks unbelievably tough and you should be worried.

If I personally communicate to you that your upcoming enemy seems easy enough to take care of, then you should fight him/her/them accordingly. Suppose you're on a mission exploring a deserted base of the Black Dragon. You might see me post something like this:

I see Keith enter an underground lair that seems deprived of any life... but with a closer look, I witness countless shadows emerge from behind the machinery.

"Keith, watch yourself! It's an ambush! I'm sure you can take them on by yourself, though! Get to it!"

Seeing this new turn of events, Keith would go on to bash his attackers' skulls in. Again, I would expect his writing to be interesting! I may have said he "can take them on by himself", but that doesn't mean I want him to write something like "I kick one, then the other, then another one, and punch the last one." If Keith wants to really impress everyone, he'll have to visualise the fight in his mind, and then transfer it to his post, making it creative and inventive, exactly as if it were really happening. Sure, he might get punched or thrown into a piece of machinery during the fight (after all, he's outnumbered), but since I specifically hinted at these enemies being easy enough, Keith would dispatch them all eventually.

~ LENGTH OF COMBAT SITUATIONS ~

You might be wondering how long a combat scene has to be. None of them have to be too long, but a good length depends on the situation. Just remember this easy bullet point when in doubt:

* You have a good-sized combat situation IF there has been variation, meaning you performed a number of attacks, your enemy(ies) performed a number of his/her(their) attacks, and one of you finally fell.

I just don't want to see things like "I punch and he falls over unconscious", guys. If you wrote your combat situation in an interesting way that doesn't make you seem all-powerful and/or a boring fighter, trust that you've done an amazing job and it HAS been noted!

~ LOSSES ~

There is no punishment or negative effects when you lose a fight! Remember that! If you encounter some type of enemy that you CLEARLY cannot take down on your own, and you see that you would be making yourself "all-powerful" by defeating him/her/it, then falling in battle or running away are your only tickets out.

Whenever you seem to be on the downside of a fight, I will send either back-up or a rescue team.

Don't worry, though: the chances of you encountering enemies you can't handle are slim to none. I just want to put this out there in case it happens during a random mission.

~ Basic Firearm Usage ~
Instructions - Level 1

When writing a combat scene involving firearms or weapons of the like, the same principles you just learned in Hand-to-Hand apply, so I won't go into the same details again.

I'm sure you've seen action movies in the past, right? You've seen lots of scenes where there are shootouts or gunfights! Write YOUR gunfight as close to that as possible. The more action, the more impressive your fight will be, and the more "WOW"s you'll get when you return to HQ. Ducking, rolling, sliding, jumping off of, swinging over, explosions, car chases, car crashes -- these are just examples, but include anything that YOU BELIEVE will make your gunfight interesting and will make you seem all the more successful. Again: for everything else about gunfights, apply the same principles you learned in Hand-to-Hand.

~ Examination ~

I direct everyone to the Hologram Sector and activate a pre-saved sequence. The room comes to resemble a mid-sized, urban street. Cars are parked beside the sidewalks. Hazy men, women, and children walk here and there, enterting stores, talking on the payphone, or just smoking a cigarette.

For this Instruction Day, I'd like to ask the same task of every agent.

Task:

I have placed two cyborgs in the room. The first has been given the function to defend itself if attacked. The second has been equippped with a propeller in its forearms which will release high-voltage orbs. Each of you will enter this room, one at a time. When you enter, the first cyborg will be waiting for you. You must test your combat skills against this cyborg until he is incapable of movement. When this happens, the second cyborg will be sent in at once, and you must put it down using a basic pistol from the stack outside.

These cyborgs have been constructed by skilled engineers from another O.I.A. Base, so they're no pushovers! They will carry out their function until the end. I think you all have the necessary skills to succeed, although expect these babies to be more or less just as skilled as you are.

You will be recorded during your testing. Throughout today, I will review your data and address you with your results.

Good Luck to all!

Alright, this is the first time I've really posted in this style, so here's hoping it doesn't come off completely retarded:

S_S walks into the simulation room, and immediately see the first cyborg. With artificial wind buffeting his hair, he cautiously proceeds towards the machine, the entire time thinking about how amazingly realistic the environment is, which prompts an idea.

S_S knows that the cyborg is programmed to attack only if it has been attacked first, so he causally approaches the machine until it is in his periphery, solemnly examining the traffic zipping along the two lane road in front of him. Then, as quickly as he can possibly move, S_S grabs the cyborg by his head and shoulder and throws him into the path of an oncoming truck.

The concluding crash is a pleasant one, with the vehicle totaled and the cyborg obviously damaged; there is still some fight in the machine though, and with uncanny speed it scuttles forwards like a crab and kicks the legs out from under S_S, his hip crunching painfully against the curb of the fake sidewalk. The machine looms over S_S and attempts to strangle the life out of him, but he manages to kick the machine off of him, and takes his place atop the machine. The two struggle briefly, the fight ending as S_S manages to pry the cybernetic head off of the machine.

He sits there contentedly on the curb, having forgotten about the second machine until he feels a jolt in his back that knocks him precariously into the street. Deftly rolling out of the way of an oncoming vehicle, S_S un-holsters his Glock 19 and aims for the machines head and places his finger on the trigger.

The machine lobs two more high voltage projectiles just as S_S gets off a shot; the bullet hits one arm of the machine. The first projectile barely whizzes past S_S’s face, but the other, seconds behind the first, requires and speedy roll the right. As S_S’s rolls back into a crouched shooting stance, he lets loose with three bullets, all of which hit the machine’s electronic head, causing it to fall forwards, it’s limp ‘body’ now draped over the primary machine.

S_S holsters his gun and walks towards the exit of the training room, his hip stiff and his back slightly singed.

as i walk into the room i could easly find the cyborg i sneek around it cheaking if it will do anything if i come closer then i walk towards it i look it in the face and take out the knife it got from one of my foes when i defeated him and stabbed him in the stomach

after that all i saw was me right in front of the door wich i came in, i quikly ran back to the cyborg trying to get my knife back, as the cyborg gets ready for my assult i see an opening in his legs. i run as quikly as possible and slide thru his legs and take my knife at the same time,

as the robot falls, i run up to it takeing my knife and getting ready for the plunge of my knife into the cyborg

he's done now i killed him, as i walk to the door i almost forgot about the other cyborg who just hit me right in the back, as i get up from the blow i knew that i'd be tottaly finished on the next blow, i knew it was time for my pistol

i take my pistol out, aiming at the eye, the heart, the arms, the legs, the head, any kind of part that could affect him the most and i chose the head i shot my bullet but this one was fast he moved the time when the boom sound came out of my pistol i guess this one relates to sound only

i knew what i had to do i had to make a distraction and i knew what i threw my pistol and i was right the cyborg went for it when he did i quikly ran to him and stabed him with my knife i think he's dead now

i was done and i left the room just when i closed the door i heard a big boom i looked in side and found a glowing orb broken right beside the cyborg who was still alive now i was serious i take my pistol aim it at his head with my knife in my other hand and i pulled the trigger my plan is working perfectly he dodeged it now i take my knife and throw it at the cyborg witch hit him in one of his ears, his sensors are off no matter how loud i am he can hear me, but only with one ear i run to my knife doing the same to the other ear now he can't hear me no matter what "you gave me alot of trouble time to die" i said in my mind i shot his arm off but with his other hand he let out his plasma orbs "oh snap, anything left in the room will become nothing but crisp when those explode i'll have to finish this quick" i said to my self i remember about someone saying that the plasma orbs explode only in sound so ill have to be super quiet sheesh i have one noise hater down and another one comes out of no where, i take my knife and aim it perfectly at the cyborg, as i throw my knife i run for the door four feet away as i opened the door i heard the plasma orbs explodes i close the door behind me as quick as possible. as the plasma blast hits the door first it made my hair look all burned up (but acually it's my hair sticking out, i have black hair) then it throws me off until where our general is "mission accomplished sir!" and i fall flat on the floor takeing a little rest

Leo: Was my Chinatown exscurion a good RP? I want some input :D

I watched S_S dispatch of the cyborgs. Although he was quick, and he could evade very easily, I felt I could do much better. "Keith, you're turn." I smiled, itching to show my skill. ALthough my excursion with the black dragon had appeared all over the news, I wasn't really recognized as the Cop who had 'handled the men.'

I opened up the door, before stepping inside. I was immedieatly stunned from the realism of the graphics, to the wind that blew thorough my hair. I looked around, searching for the cyborg. "Of course, I get the difficult ones right?" I thought to myself. THat's when I felt it. SOmething hit me in the head, hard. I tumbled forward, my vision jumbled. I looked up to see a metal heel coming down on my face. Instead of trying to catch it, I rolled to my left, it's heel impacting where my face was not even a second before. I punched the cyborg's knee, causing it to stagger. I proplled my feet almost over my head, before jumping up (think of a backwards tumble, than reversing... Shawn Michaels esque). I felt it's elbow impact on my face, causing me to tumble to the floor again. I rolled to my left, using my momentum to stand up. My back was to the wall of a store. I grabbed a 'public garbage can' and threw it at the cyborg. It grabbed it and threw it to the side, but at that point, my jump kick connected. It fell to the floor, and as my heel came down on the cyborg, it punched my foot back up. "You bastard!" I said in pain, my foot radiating pain. I fell backwards, clutching my foot. It advanced on me, but I propelled myself upwards, grabbing the discarded garbage can from before. I threw it up, causing the cyborg to immedieatly track it with it's optics, and by the time it looked down, my fist connected with it's eye, knocking it clean out. The cyborg started to fizz, as it collapsed onto the floor, it's joints still kicking and punching. I caught the garbage can and threw it forcefully down onto the cyborg, causing it's movements to cease.

I bent over, catching my breath, waiting for that second cyborg to come. I heard the car coming up the block, thinking that it was just another simulation. That's when I heard the "Pffm" of the orbs being fired. I dove to the left, it's explosive capabilites sending me flying down the block. There is where I found the standard Glock. I cocked the gun, before realizing the ammo wasn't placed with the gun. I stood up and ran, the orbs following my footsteps. I noticed the 'civilians' were 'running for their lives.' I dove into the store, just to find that it wasn't really programmed. ONly what could be seen from the outside was visible on the inside. I punched the cash register in frustration, I wanted ammo. The slot opened up, and in there were three bullets. "Leo you bastard!" I laughed aloud. That's when I noticed the orbs impacting on the building. I loaded the three bullets, and peered outside. The cyborg left the cover of it's car, and was on one knee, firing orbs. I rushed outside and shot a round behind it's head, hitting the conviently placed explosvie barrels. I went flying backwards, with the cyborg coming with me. Mid flight, I popped off a round, trying to shoot the cyborg, but the force of the explosion had my bullet go haywire. We both tumbled, each on one knee facing each other. I saw it powering up it's next shot, and that was my last chance. I fired a round, straight into the shooter, and watched as the pent up energy was trapped inside. The explosion was even more powerful than that of the barrells. My body was sent flying straight back into the door leading to the exterior of this room. I limped forward, and opened the door. "I'm done sir!"

Be on the lookout later today for new, useful information unrelated to combat! I've decided not to turn these new bits of information into an "Instruction Day", persay, but more a resource to be used.

For now, I'd like to take the time to review the performances we've seen on our Hand-to-Hand Combat and Basic Firearm Usage task.

Soul_Stealer

Pros:
First thing I can compliment you on is your quick thinking. I was pleasently surprised that you found a "loophole" in the cyborg's function and used that to your advantadge. Such quick-thinking makes me think you might have some hidden talents as a future spy.

Great recovery as well. Whenever you were caught by surprise and knocked down, you swiftly got back to your feet and reacted to the danger accordingly.

When it came to the action, I think you also held your own very well. You seem to prefer to be a ranged fighter more than a close, face-to-face brawler, and you used your style of self-defense efficiently. I noticed you kept your cool even when being pelted with shots from the second cyborg, and still managed to get a nice aim into your shots.

Cons:
Only thing I can bring up is that you used third-person for the combat writing. In future clashes, please use first-person, which is more fitting for the protagonist of the situation.

sibunad

Pros:
I could tell you visualized your performance well in your mind before transfering it to the post. I liked how you implemented more than just fists and shots into the action; that added a nice bit of variety that can only help in the overall task.

You also used first-person, present tense, so check on that. smile

Cons:
First thing I wanna suggest to you for future combat writing is to structure your sentences a bit more clearly. I felt that, while your actions were inventive and interesting, they could have been told in a more organized way. A lot of your sentences ran on for too long, making it harder to figure out what exactly was going on. Use more periods when you reach the end of an action or express a complete idea, and also take the time to plan out and separate your writing into understandable sentences rather than writing as you're thinking.

Another advice I'd like to offer you is to revise, or just skim over, what you have when you're all done. Read your actions to yourself and see if they make the utmost sense and sound "right".

Keith

Hm... yeah, I did hear about your little "trip" in the local paper. I can't take this time to talk to you about it, however. Would you like me to send you a private, written message, or should we just meet up somewhere here at the base after these reviews?

Hold onto that thought! Let me go over your performance first.

Pros:
The first thing that popped up at me while reviewing your recording was great action! I can honestly say I was drawn into your fight as it was going on, wondering who was going to land the next hit, and how much of a toll it would take on the victim. It was intense, just the way these bouts are supposed to be.

Great, great variety. I especially liked the beginning of your first fight, when you traded blows with the cyborg for dominance. This showed me that you're a hardcore type of fighter; one who prefers to get right down to it, face-to-face, and punish your target with as many powered-up strikes as you can. It also showed me that you can take a punch and keep on going until you're on top of things, which is something you don't always see with fighters who are afraid of getting a little red in their face. Props to you on that, too.

Way to use your environment to your advantadge! I saw this with S_S, too. You used your surroundings to get an extra "edge" in the performance, and that only helped you. From the garbadge can, to the invasion of the store, to the explosives; it was all refreshing and made the final product all the more interesting to witness. Sucks that you got the gun with no ammo, though. ^_^

I also loved how you finished off the last cyborg. Guess you're not just fists and kicks, there's some effective thinking going on up there!

Finally, your format was flawless. First person, present tense.

Cons:
Not a lot for me to say. For your first fight before judging eyes, you delivered! I think it's safe to say your battles will only get better and better as you delve into them (which I'm sure you're looking forward to doing, from everything I've seen).

I'd like to thank everyone who accepted the combat task! Your extra effort has been duly noted, and I'm happy to say you are all one thin line away from your promotion. Keep it up, recruits!

At this point, I was beaming. All of the praise and "good jobs" on my training simulation really bolstered my confidence. I felt that I really belonged, and that I might have some use to this agency after all. I stepped up to the General, speaking a private sentence for him. "If you'd like to send me a private message about the chinatown brawl, feel free. Any criticism is good criticism.." I stepped back smiling, before turning on my heel. I was on my way to a promotion, I could feel it.

Does everyone remember the abnormal signals we've been picking up? They have persisted, but are getting weaker and harder to trace. We will continue to look into it, and I can honestly say everyone should expect to have their first O.I.A. mission soon!

Before I can send everyone into such life-threatening situations, however, there is one more "basic" piece of information that you must be aware of: How to destroy unauthorized portals.

Everyone in the agency is welcome to a copy of the following book. It tells you everything you need to know. =)

=============================================

~ INSTRUCTIONS ON CLOSING PORTALS ~

=============================================

If you would like to avoid shameful embarrassment when the team's success in solely in your hands, then I suggest you study this book carefully. This is an Investigation Agency, not a high school, so I won't stop to break everything down for everyone. Everything you want and should know about obliterating intrusive portals is in this book.

Once you have studied the contents of this book, please send me a private message confirming the knowledge you have acquired. I will make a note of it.

More information on the strange signals as we receive them.

I listen carefully to the constructive criticism given my our Leader, and I make a note of it.

I pick up a copy of our reading assignment, and take it back to my work station, intent on absorbing as much information from the text as I can; eager to begin work on the assignment.

I take the book given to me by Leo, and sit down at my work station. I peruse the different pages, learning as much as I can. The General walked up behind me, and whispered something in my ear. I smiled and looked up. "I'll be right there sir." I said with excitement.

I stood up from the desk, pushing my chair out. I walked down the hallway heading towards the elevator. Upon entering, a pleasent female voice asked "Please choose your destination." "Training Deck please." I said. Without a peep, the elevator dropped. For what only seemed like a second, I was waiting, before it opened up again. "You are presently two thousand feet below sea-level, please enjoy your training Agent Keith." I smiled, in my head saying "I know I will."

I walked into the hand-to-hand combat section, surprised by how small the room was. There was only a table with a set of goggles on it. I picked one up, inquistively. It seemed normal to me. I placed it on my eyes, and was immedieatly stunned.

It was a Virtual Reality Simulator. I didn't even know that I was in VR, it seemed real. I could taste, smell, even feel my surroundings. A few Instructions appeared before my eyes.

"If you'd like to quit at any time, think of your two worded password, and you'll be sent out immedieatly.

If the above dosen't work, or you seem to forget your password, spin in a counterclock-wise motion nine times, the dizzy sensation will disorient the goggles.

Please set your password now"
"Drake, Adonis" I said aloud. "password noted." It said merrily. Please choose your area of training." "Speed, boxing, kickboxing, Hapkido." "Please step forward... Iniaiting Level One. Five cyborgs appeared before me. "Greaat I muttered."

I eyed each cyborg seperately. I thought I was going to fight each one, but I was then surprised. Four of them disappeared, and before he could react, he was changed into trunks, boxing gloves, and transported into a boxing ring. He raced his hands, and prepared for the first round.

He slowly walked forward, watching the cyborg determine it's best course of action. It slowly morphed, before ending up looking like Roy Jones Jr. By the time it had finished, we were within jabbing distance of each other. It through a left straight, and caught me on the chin. Before I could raise my hand, I was rocked by a right hook. This droid was fast, and I was paying the consequences.

I backed up from Roy, avoiding his deadly hands. I already head brusing along my right eye. I let him come to me, before throwing my right hand. His quickiness of defense caught me by surprise. His arm had caught the force of my blow, and his counter-attack came even quicker. I leaned towards the left, the fist barely missing me. I threw a left jab, impacting on his ribs, his body lurching backwards. My attack didn't seem to special to me, but I noticed he let his elbow drop. Maybe I was stronger than I thought.

He came into my striking distance, and I tried to slug him with my right hand. He brought up his arm, again catching my blow. HIs left hand hit my nose point on, teaching me a lesson. I backed up before entering his striking distance again. I threw my left hand, with the intent of just contact, and not power. His defense wasn't there fast enough. I felt his flesh impact on my fist, and was surprised at the force of my punch. I definitely didn't mean to bearclaw him, but it had the same effect. He stumbled a bit, and with that chance, I threw an uppercut, again going for contact and not power. HIs hands covered his face, and if I had tried to maul him, his gloves would have caught mine. But I had learned to be fast. My glove caught the bottom of his jaw.

Change to X-Ray Vision

The Cyborg's human skelton is seen. Slowly coming onto the screen is a hand, balled into a fist. The fist connects (with a little space for the glove) with the bottom of the jawbone, which pushes back into the brain-stem. Upon contact, the skull's jaw falls limp.

Back to regular Vision.

My punch landed perfectly. I could feel his whole world shatter. As my hand came back from the punch, Roy's body just dropped. His jaw was limp, as his eyes were wide open. His body on the floor was all I needed to know that the victory was mine.

I stood, hunched over, trying to catch my breath. I felt a weird disorienting feeling, and when I looked up, I was in a steel caged octagon. In front of me was Chuck Lidell (UFC). It was somehow implanted into my head that fists were against the rules. This was flat out kicking. I smiled a weary smile, my eye still burning from the punches I recieved.

I looked up, and as soon as I did his foot was flying towards my face. I put my hands in the way to throw the kick down, but the impact had my feet leave the floor. I looked up, to see his heel on a crash-course with my face. I didn't have time to react, and I immedieatly hit the floor. My head was spinning, the pain way too immense. I looked up, to see his heel coming for my head again. I rolled to the side, before standing up, still a little dizzy. I threw a side, snap-kick, which landed for effect. His body barely moved.

I thought to myself "great, speed-kicking is weak." I tried to do a heel-roundhouse kick like he did to me, and he surprised me by sweeping my support leg, having me topple to the ground. From there, my instinct took over. My foot went straight for his abs, landing with a crushing blow.

XRAY VISION

The Abs of Chuck are seen, intact. The foot is seen heading towards the abs, and upon impact, the abs are seen shattering.

Muscle Vision

It closes up on the abs. At first, the intact abs of all blue (no force) with only a little dab of light green where the first kick landed. All of the sudden, there's a dark red that's rippling through out the abs. As they shatter, the dark red is almost black due to the force.

Regular vision.

Chuck collapsed in front of me. Blood was pooling out of his mouth, and you could see the adhesion between his ribs. I pumped my fist in triumph, as the whole scenario dissolved. I voiced my password, and the goggles powered down.

I placed them off my head, and was relieaved to find out that the pain had disappated. The General had decided to watch me train and I smiled at him. "Sir, that was very useful, sir!"

"Keith, your active participation in the affairs of the Agency will not be taken for granted. You have contributed the necessary amount of time and effort to leave the Special Forces base and begin your career as an official O.I.A. member. Taking the time to go that extra mile and prove your dedication was worth it after all.

Wear your new emblem with pride.

Good Luck, Rookie."

I stand there in a salute, brimming with pride. As the emblem is placed on my shirt, I am brimming with happiness. I knew that this promotion meant more responsibility, but I'd enjoy it as much as possible. "Sir, I won't let you down sir!" I almost yelled.

I turned on my heel, after being dismissed, and was about to leave the base. But, just as I reached the door, I turned back around. "Sir, is there an assignment that you need me to do?"

"Yes, but nothing major as of yet. For now, why not go pack up your stuff and leave the Special Forces base? Maybe say hello to B_C, the other O.I.A. Rookie!"

I roll my eyes in disgust as I input Agent Keith's lastest training exam results. They were far from stellar, why would I need to put them in anyway? wasting time, instead I should be training as well. Due to my injury, I spent my time in medical recuporating, and wasn't able to participate in basic training...I feel so useless...I disappointed General Leo...I let him down....I need to prove my worth to him....I AM the Best of the Best in this Place, and I'm going to prove it when the next mission is at hand.

I leave the station and head back to my room. On the way up, I stop in the Cafeteria and purchase a botte of Fine Merlot imported from France..I just need something calm my nerves.

As I approahmy room, I see the door surprisingly not locked, or even shut for that matter! I rush in to find someone's bags in MY room! I look up and I nearly drop the bottle in my hand.....It was agent Keith.....

"What.....The......Hell?"

"Oh, was this your room? Mmmmmmy bad." I said with a smile. When B_C walked in, his face was priceless. I sprawled out over his bed, yawning. "You can take the pull-out, I'll take the bed. Thanks." I said with a huge grin.

I can no longer hold back...I long to see his rotting corpse in that field along with all the other scum who got what they deserved there...

"GET YOUR DIRTY COMBAT BOOTS OFF OF MY EGYPTIAN COTTON BEDCOVERS YOU DISGUSTNG RODENT! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?"

I pick up his Bags and Throw them into the Hallway. The loud thud echoes throughout the long seemingly endless hallway. Some of theother agents peer out of their doors to see what the comotion is about.

"Leave NOW before I call security to escort you out of here....or worse, I'll do it myself!"
