He sucks. You can't really take a fighting game character and say, "so what if he has a fuckin' retarded move-set." Doesn't really work like that.
Terrible moves. Boring design. Given relevance by shamelessly labeling him as the "trainer" of characters that don't suck.
Fuck him.
Amongst a sea of kick ass drunken masters in various fighting game... Bo' Rai Cho lies at the bottom, with the rest of the shit. Brad Wong, Shun Di and Chin Gentsai wipe their asses with Bo' Rai Cho's face.

No way, Bo' Rai Cho is a comedy character, as much as Johnny Cage was. Doesn't make him a BAD character, in fact he's had some depth given to him as the teacher of many fighters.

How is labeling him as a "teacher" depth? There's absolutely nothing that reflects his "teachings" in any of his "students" play styles. There is no depth to him. He's a shallow crappy character with an absolutely thoughtless moveset and design. And Johnny is far more than a "comedy character". Johnny kicks fuckin' ass. He can't be distilled down to fart jokes. That's all Bo' Rai Cho is. It's like a damn 12 year-old made him. ...and for that matter... if he's a "comedy character" he's the fighting game equivalent of Movie 43 when it comes to comedy. There's not a single laugh to be had from him.

You're not really proving your case.
You're just bashing Bo' Rai Cho. Allow me:
Bo' Rai Cho is one of the most knowledgable characters in MK in martial arts. He He is known for having mastered several styles throughout his life, and it is even believed he introduced druken boxing to Earthrealm.
As the primary instructor for martial arts at the Wu Shi Academy in Earthrealm, he made possibly the greatest contribution towards Earthrealm's salvation: he trained Liu Kang. Even prior, Bo' Rai Cho has been a well respected man among the realms, even though he has built a reputation as sort of a heavy drinker.
Bo' Rai Cho is one of the most important factors to the MK storyline; one could say without him, the story would not have made it beyond MK1. Plus, as I always state, I think it's pretty cool that he can heavily vomit at will. It must take quite a degree of control to do that.

It seems that what is still not understood by some about Bo' Rai Cho's character is that it's kind of the point to focus on his outer appearance and demeanor. It's something of a deception, which ties into how he fights. Both Zuiquan (Drunken Fist) and Mizongyi (Lost Track Skill) are martial arts styles of deception. When you actually take a look at him as a character, you would realize that he is simply a man who wants his realm to be free from tyranny. We see him involved in military affairs in MK: Deception, and the army he's is one that even Mileena recognized as being effective. He actually has more substance than some of the other characters, and that even includes a number of old school characters.

Bo Rai Cho should not be here. He may be a drunk, but he's able destroy ANYONE in MK that Liu Kang has defeated (in theory.)

Umm. I'm making plenty of points in my statements. Far more than you just have, anyway.
You've done nothing but recite his shoehorned origin, which doesn't make itself known anywhere but in the text it's written. None of his so-called apprentices reflect Bo' Rai Cho's teachings in their move-sets, nor does he show any reference to their styles. His move-set is god awful, and his story is a desperate ploy to give him relevance. Nothing else needs to be said.
Perhaps if he was a character that had elements of all of his students fighting styles, showing that they had developed them from his teachings, he might have been interesting. But as for now, he's shallow as fuck, visually boring and technically lazy.

Yeah, you go ahead and think that.
I'm gonna go do some monkey flips and belly flops.

Good luck with that. I'mma go play characters that weren't created during a 30 minute toilet session..
I found secret character art of Bo' Rai Cho's dad.
He's important 'cause he taught Bo' Rai Cho.

I don't buy their reasoning, Stryker overweight? Seriously? I don't even like Rain and even I acknowledge he's an pretty decent character, especially his moves. And the fact that they didn't seem to do research on why Motaro looked like that says alot.
