posted07/08/2011 07:08 AM (UTC)bytrynaxIDK but after getting Kenshi and playing through practice and learning his moves and then going through arcade mode with him I just don't see why so many love this fighter. I can beat him with Sheeva on Expert! His moves and finishers are cool, but his moves are a little week and by far way too easy to counter. Without his Telekinetic Slam he is pretty useless. His crouching is by far the worse in the game, he cann't even duck under Kahn's Spear Throw and I believe he is the only one who cannot duck under them. To me he is okay as an extra fighter to throw in for those who loved him from the old 3D games and pretty much that is it. Cool addition but weak fighter.

I am only downloading him and Scarlet as extra characters to fight against in Arcade Ladder, Tag ladder, and Test your luck mode I have no interest in using them. I'm looking forward to downloading Rain as an extra character I'll actually use.

I've got Skarlet when she came out, I was kicking ass! Then when I got Kenshi, I thought Skarlet as inferior and weak compared to Kenshi! WE NEED RAIN!!!

To each their own, but I think Kenshi is great. He just takes a bit more practice to use comfortably. He's got a nice array of pop-ups, and killer specials.
He's fast, deadly, and fun.

I haven't used him in thsi game yet, 'cause I own an Xbox, so this is purely based on MKDA, MKD and MKA, but...
Yeah, I never liked him much. I don't get him. I don't get why he's the most popular character to come out of those games.
Oh boy... a new guy with a sword in a game that revolves around Ninjas and Martial Arts! Big whoop.
But, I'm buying him (and all the DLC) anyway, because I'm a huge MK fan.

I won't be getting him (untill the inevitible Ultimate MK9), Rain is the only DLC who might interest me so will wait for that.
From Kenshi's trailers he just looked so stiff and akward to me. He stole some of the awesome ideas they used for Noob in this game and added a sword. Lame. I also hate the fact that every thread on this site will now revolve around Kenshi for two weeks.
If I was a blind dude I would definitley appreciate him though...

Kenshi is awesome but I still love using scarlet as my primary online character, she is an awesome teammate for kitana. Rain better be epic beyond all reason.

actually it depends on where on the screen you are....not sure if it's a glitch or not, but Kahn's spear(atleast from my experience) doesn't fly in a straight path across the screen. it arches slightly, and regardless of who you play as, if you're at full screen distance it has a high chance of hitting you when you duck

I like him, but he was much better in the 3D games.
They took out his best move, the telekentic push. I'm not sure of that is the exact name, but that move he had where you tapped forward, forward and an attack button and he did this little telekentic push that knocked you on the ground
oh well, he's still cool, just not as cool as he was

I was pretty so-so about him in the previous trilogy but his new moves and new look and new playstyle has warmed me up to him a great deal. His backstory is not particularly exciting but he has the potential to be a great character, story-wise, in the future.
I love his second fatality. His first one, the eye-popping one is a little meh.

I have to say I like him slightly better than I did when I played Deception. I think it just has to do with the updated graphics and physics engine in this game. He doesn't look and move so much like a plastic action figure this time.
But he still looks like some kind of hokey DC superhero, so I'm not insanely in love with him like it seems 90% of people on the site are. I didn't even buy him, but I will download the compatibility pack.

I don't like his design, and his moves are kind of bland, but he is useful for kickking Shao Kahn's ass. You don't need to duck his spears. You can just reflect them. That move is also useful against Skarlet. Her blood ball already hurts her, and it does a ton of damage. With Kenshi, you can make it do both!

He did like kind of stiff in the trailers, however I will give him a chance because I love the new look and moves.
He's no longer an Ermac clone and I'm going to get him later this week.

I like him much more than I did than in Deception. I also find Skarlet much inferior to him, she's the one that has very weak moves. So no, he's a hard character to dislike.

He's fun because he's different.
I just fought someone online who was using Kenshi exclusively. I had a hard time reaching the actual character. After a couple of battles and my switching of characters I found that Kitana easily whooped up on him. If you keep her moving like a banshee than while Kenshi is throwing his kinetics at you, you can swoop in and combo him down.
I like any actual MK characters that are being added just for the fact that it's fun. Now if I use them extensively...that's a different question. Some of the luster on Skarlet has waned a little but she's still fun to have, just like Kenshi.

I like him and could easily use him as a combo king. He forces a ground game which is a nice counter to online favorites like scorpion and smoke. If this were a trading card game, I'd definitely keep him in my deck.
As for anything about his story? Don't give a shit. This game didn't improve my liking of him any. Just seems regurgitated. Which is fine. I already played story mode, extra story is extra. But as a character, if you know how to use his combos, he's really nice to work with. I've already started exploring his combo system. The third match in I was making 6 hit 28-30% combos.

You dont need to duck with kenshi youcan reflect them, hes actually really great, and coincidently sheeva is quite strong against him... but shes underrated thohgh....
Some of his specialmove mapping is awkward though, especially downback x for a forward popup... but consider he can hit from about everywhere i belive he if mastered is high tier atleast, just pulled a cornerless and meter free 30 8 hit combo, whichis quite nice... unfortunatly forgot howw..

his moves are a little week? WOW Are u retarded
Kenshi was a breath of fresh air to this game. Not like it was stale or anything, but his play style is unique, even compared to Ermac. You can't say that for a few other characters.
Of course he's better than he was in Deception or Deadly Alliance, because everyone's better than they were then, because the game is overall better.
However, I would like to see his Deception costume return. It's less superhero and more...cool MK fighter....

He is preety cool but I fear some of his moves will be spam to death. But it seems like he has a long punish state if you counter his specials.
