Would any of you guys down to spar this weekend? I've taken a break from MK since Texas Showdown, but I'm ready to grind out if any of ya'll are down for it.
Ack i totally would man but next week is finals week and I'm completely buried in assignments/essays this weekend.
Also i should have mentioned this sooner, but like a week or two ago I played Shujinkydink (sp??) online. I got completely obliterated by his Quan three times. Hands down the best quan chi i have ever played. Even though I know I should have stuck to one character, I changed up my mains every time we played and I think only with my Cyrax was I able to even get a round off him. He's really good at holding on to his meter once he gets it (it for sure helped tho i was a bit rusty and dropped shit left and right) and plays very calmly, like he'll hold back or just be working on spacing and then get me when i fuck up in the SLIGHTEST way. Seemed like he for sure liked to be in the position where Quan would win out with his woolay in a trade or he could just jump in over my zoning attempts. Very on and off in terms of aggressiveness, which is a really cool play style in that its hard to read him.
And once he gets you with three bars you're gonna eat 80% if not lose the round. And something he did that was really fuckin tricky that I will definitely be more prepared for if we ever play again is the way he mixed shit up DURING the EX Rune traps. Like he'd do one or two in a row and then on the next one dash up with like just a 11 and then go into one of Quan's mix ups like B3 1+2 to full combo punish me or hit me with the EX wooolay to take my meter and finish out the round with the rune traps.
The forth time I played him tho he went with Baraka and I beat him with Sektor or Cyrax, can't remember which. But it was obvious that although he was certainly trying to win he doesn't play much Baraka. That or I got lucky, which after seeing his Quan wouldn't really surprise me.
